Needle Storm is too inconsistent.

The entire super needs to be reworked to actually hit targets because damage is pretty much RNG. There should be a circular cone reticle when cast and holding the aim button should tighten the spread of the circle so all projectiles hit a single area. This way, it can truly be the DPS/Ad Clear hybrid it's supposed to be. As is, so many projectiles get wasted or do absolutely nothing and PvP? Literally incapable of killing a Guardian in their super if they are under you within 10 feet. Hell, sometimes it can't even kill normal Guardians if they are close.

  • Needlestorm animation is way too long, especially for pvp, and I dislike activating while in the air as it has a tendency to lift you to high up in its animation stage and this is very detrimental in most pvp maps where know you're shooting into the ceiling. It also has lousy target prioritization.

  • Increase tracking power massively in pve and a small amount in pvp and add priority to champions and bosses. Also make it so having the aspect that spawns threadlings also gives you 3 perched threadlings after casting the super.

      So glad i'm not the only one. I hate this super so much & i have 3 warlocks that utilize nearly every super for the class and this one is by far the worst. I would pick Shadebinder over it, its that bad. It has good potential but it sucks so much. It's only good for DPS if you have a teammate doing star eater nova already (so that way they don't collide & block too many shots during DPS rotations).

        That can be an exotic. Creating Threadlings grants Needlestorm energy. Hold super to charge Needlestorm, increasing the damage and tightening the spread. As of today, Warlocks currently have no super damage-boosting exotics. This could be it. (Yes, I’m ignoring Winter’s Wrath because of how insignificant it is)

        • Agreed, it’s hopeless in PvP - no regs up close and if they’re in their Super you’re toast. In PvE it’s underwhelming. A rework is overdue, but what with all the issues and bugs in the game I can’t imagine too much dev energy going in to sort it.

            I always have this one design in my mind the moment they revealed needle storm: hold down the super button to start planning your salvo like missiles in many other shooting games, and press shooting button to activate. If you want to hit a single target just put all the targets on that enemy. On top of my mind is the focus system from Kingdom Hearts BBS. It’s just like eye of tomorrow except you have to aim for each individual projectile one at a time in quick succession. This allows you to easily distribute needles. Maybe if you don’t need all 15 you can shoot before you aimed all of them and refund super energy based on how many you used. Also if you want to cancel you can simply release super button without shooting. If we take one step further, this can be the first super to allow activation without filling the entire super meter. Max needle amount depends on how much energy you have.

          • You should see blade barrage. Had it blanket an area except the guardian shaped hole that it avoided. Was wild, but that's what happens with these supers. Sometimes, you get lucky and wipe a team. Sometimes, you just waisted 5 minutes building a super.

            • I wouldn't say the entire super needs a rework, but it does need consistency addressed. Here's my idea for a consistency buff over a full rework. For PvP, it needs to work a bit like eyes of tomorrow. As you wind up the animation, it marks targets. Then throws an even amount of needles at each target marked. For PvE, hitting a champion, miniboss, or boss with your charged melee while Needlestorm is equipped marks them. Using your super while a target is manually marked sends all needles at the target. If no target is marked, minors and majors will be automatically marked during wind up, and needles will be thrown at marked targets in an even amount.

              • Been posting this since it’s been a thing. My favorite class to run, but this super is by far the worst pvp super in the game. I would rather have tether. Animation takes to long, you don’t get enough damage resistance, people have to literally be in the open not moving for you to land and that’s if they don’t dodge or blink. If you are to close it won’t hit anything and if you are to far it takes a year to reach the target. The threadlings after word are so easy to kill in two shots you can’t even get a kill with threadlings. I agree it needs a total rework 👍🏻
