Bungie uses science and physics when it suits them to explain the mechanics of something for balance purposes and outside of that make -blam!- up as they go along. Why is bloom on hand cannons and rifles? "well if you've ever shot a gun then you'd know that..." okay why are shotguns deadly confetti launchers when they should be effective at atleast 50 yards "lol space magic bruh" Realistically it is physically impossible for the hive or the Cabal to have made it to earth with anything other than some kind of worm hole system and they never talk about it. They're probably going to trot out some kind of pseudoscience bullshit to explain the next DLC which is going to -blam!- up one of the few things that make sense which is that your ghost isn't just your ghost, your ghost is /your ghost/. The quantum state of your identity dug out of the substrate of the universe bound to an artifice and empowered revive it's once body. But that was pissed all over years ago so IDK man. What's sad is if they had gone there they might have accidentally stumbled on something that's not wholly impossible. Supposedly it's impossible according to quantum physics to completely destroy a quantum index, and if that is indeed what the mind is... what ever it ultimately translates to, quantum theory indicates that the mind persists in some form. If the theory is true of course and well they call it a theory for a reason...

26 commentairesNo. Destiny is built around "paracausality". IOW...magic. But more specifically the kind of magic (The Light) that is generally associated with gods. That one can defy the laws of physics (The Laws of Causality....cause and effect) through sheer force of will ("Guardians Make Their Own Fate). Where Physics comes into play in Destiny is with the Vex. The Vex basically embody the pinnacle of what is a Deterministic or Newtonian Universe. Their ability to simulate things is a side-effecti of a deterministic universe. Becasue---if you had enough processing power....and a detailed enough understanding of starting conditions----you can basically run the Universe backwards or forwards in TIme with perfect accuracy..... ...and things like choice or free will become meaningless. In fact, many will argue that it is only because of the randomness built into quantum mechanics that notions like choice or Free Will have any meaning..... ...and its becasue of the ability to step OUTSIDE of the laws of a Newtonian universe is why both Light and Dark foul up the Vex's efforts to simulate the actions of those who wield it.

1 commentaireThe thing is even if it explained everything being attached to one being, it is also trying to explain a way to create such complexity in everything that it will never look unified up close, only able to see a pattern for it. We are unique emanations of the same shared light. What [b][i]he[/i][/b] started was the unpredictability of any given moment.
