We grind our asses off to get armor with rolls we want. We grind our asses off to get the seasonal mods.
And just when we learn how to use them, they are gone. Expired, sun set, whatever.
We cannot have actual build diversity if the mods go away. And we can't use older mods if our armor is sunset.
And I don't care to even bother experimenting with builds because I know it will all be for nothing.
Why am I even bothering with this game anymore?
It takes so long to get to an optimized loadout and then its not relevant anymore.
See the problem here Bungo?
EDIT: Didn't expect this much response. Thanks. I get it, the game is grindy; always has been. But it is nothing but grind now and we get reset back to zero every 3 months. We do not have time to enjoy any of the gear, mods, or weapons we get. The game is not fun; its frustrating.

There have been times that I wander And times that I don't Concepts I'll ponder And concepts I won't ever see God is not one of these Former or latter Which did you think I meant It doesn't matter to me

There isn’t one. That’s why everyone is afk farming. No one gives a crap anymore. Bungies own fault. And I find it hilarious. Keep it up community!!!

2 commentaires"Sunsetting" as they are calling it is literally just lazy programing and a money grab. They don't like spending time balancing all the new shit they add every year, so instead we're just going to make everything non-exotic expire eventually. Just stupid AF. They need to take a step back and realize we don't want to grind from scratch every few months, we just want you to -blam!-ing balance the shit you have already. As for the money aspect, it's another way to guarantee people will never have an "ultimate set". Since exotics are limited to only 2 out of 8 slots, that guarantees 6 spots will ALWAYS be time limited encouraging things like season pass purchases (to reduce time spent keeping top lights) and virtually every other money-to-bypass system in the game. It's honestly disgusting.

1 commentaireModifié par Later MF : 6/16/2020 10:58:23 AMThe point is that they are going to sell recycled content from D1 and D2 until 2022 and they will be enough new lights and junkies that will pay play! When in Season 11 over 70% is recycle content from D2 year 1 ( Guns from Fraktion, Guns from Eskalation Protokoll, Armour from PD9 and even the end of the Dungen is the old PD9 flawless room ) what do you think we will get until 2022...

I think Bungie has run out of ideas and interest in the game. They need to bring in new blood to the development team and send many of the heads to another department. Since its inception Destiny goes through the same exact cycles over and over and over. Most is done because of lazy efforts to keep people playing but its getting very old at this point and is why so many long time players have walked away for better games.

2 commentairesDon’t mind the naysayers. There are good loot games, and then there are bad loot games. Destiny is a bad loot game. It is a fantastic shooter, which is why I stick around, but its loot cycle is a repetitive slog that doesn’t even try to sugarcoat the absolute tedium the grind has become with any kind of variety. This is why I’ll never understand people who defend Destiny by saying “well you obviously just aren’t used to games like this”. No one should be used to a game like this. It’s a boring, recycled grind, without the amount of loot a “loot game” should have and lacking the imagination from the game designers a loot game needs. Could it be a better loot game? Absolutely, that’s why we come here day after day giving feedback until we’re blue in the face. But in no way shape or form is it’s current state defensible by anyone who has played other loot shooters and knows the difference.

Modifié par GeekCred : 6/16/2020 5:02:58 PMThe forced grind has always been there, but it's at obnoxious levels now. This model ensures a perpetual, high intensity grind leveraging FOMO tactics. That or it ensures burnout, or that you'll have to accept being a casual player. Every 3 months: You'll get a small content drop that is level gated and expires at the end of the season. Your artifact build and all of its associated mods expired so you can chase a new one (before it expires). Everything earned in the prior season gets an expiration date. Potentially huge areas of the game (and all of its activities and rewards) will be expired for indeterminate periods of time. My conclusion is the game is now designed for you to feel like you're behind, unless you're one of the 2 percent of players that can play like it's your job. Most players that used to be comfortably ahead of the curve are going to find themselves in a frantic race every 3 months to stay ahead or be left behind. For everyone else, any sense of permanence (or long term investment) is virtually gone now, and it's all about casual moment-to-moment game play.

3 commentairesIt’s funny because Bungie did this before when they left behind all previous weapons, they then brought them back with infusion and said they would never again make the things we had worked for seem like a waste as that had been a mistake. Then they did it again, and again, and again and now again again!!!

1 commentaireArmour sunsetting is so stupid.... have to regrind for decent stats you want and then grind to level it up for a couple of seasons....

110 commentaires
See the problem here Bungo?
The problem is that you don't have a temperment that is suited for a loot game. Because you are complaining about things that are a part of every loot game in the world. The all either take away your stuff....or take away its power. Now Bungie is doing a number of things that AGGRAVATE this....and they need to stop doing those things. But at the end of the day, if you don't like to grind....and can't tolerate your gear being retired..loot games will never be anything but a frustration and a disappointment to you. ...and it won't be the game's fault. It'll be because you're demanding that it provide you with an experience that it cannot do....by its very nature.

Well grind belongs to that game. I like to grind if it makes sense and is meaningful. Every 3 Month a reset and sunsetting makes all the grind meaningless. At least they should be consequent. If they make us grind to a higher level each 3 month then at least give enough new content to grind for and not just one dungeon. I don't want to grind just to play same old/refurbished ordeals and nightmare hunts over and over again. Give at least 5 new strikes and 3 new nightmare hunts each season and put the old ones in your fancy new Vault.

11 commentairesI don't know why people are still surprised about sunsetting posts getting overwhelming positive responses. You could literally post "sunsetting bad" and get a couple hundred upvotes.

3 commentairesModifié par Jebus Kreist : 6/15/2020 11:43:04 PMI never get the argument behind people being upset about sunsetting. Sure there's alot of stuff that we've gotten in the vault over time but nobody nowhere even touches their vault unless they are throwing new weapons/rolls into it and don't use DIM. So why are people upset about having 3-season and older gear be outdated like typical RPG/MMOs? Most likely a few specific weapons that fit into their very specific build that they seemingly don't want to even think of changing for the next 3 years. The biggest problems I see with this are: -It wasn't implemented into the game from the very start and people aren't used to a mechanic that's ingrained in a majority of RPG-style games. Now that it's been introduced and taking real effect next Season people are outraged they cant use the stuff in the vault they don't even touch anyways. -Judging by Bungie's response to people being outraged about weapons being phased out... they are using it as a method for recycling known content instead of bringing back a plethora of Year 1 Content to flood the game with loot, reskinning older stuff, filling out missing weapons/archetypes from the different Manufacturers, or creating a good amount of new weapons. This is the problem I have with sunsetting. Not the fact that old gear is expiring. It's the fact that they opened the door to reusing content because people were upset about old stuff going away, instead of (at least letting people believe) new content.

9 commentairesWhy would I take the time to masterwork a weapon that I know is going to turn to dust? Why would I add a lifetime kill tracker if it's lifetime is one year?

8 commentairesI have not change armor or my ghost since Shadow Keep. That’s how bad the loot system and rewards are in Destiny 2.

11 commentairesModifié par A Lion of Judah : 6/16/2020 4:41:38 AM"Anymore" needs a prefacing negation. Not...anymore Never...anymore It can't stand alone as it doesn't do anything to the sentence. You can also phrase the question "Is there a point anymore?". Asking a yes or no rhetorical question, when the inferred answer is no, is the same as prefacing with a negative.

Remember in Year 3 of D1 where you could solo play literally any activity or level up factions ALL THE TIME, and get powerful gear to hit 400 light level? What happened to that? Archon Forge was great for that, and so were skeleton keys.

Lol "Build Diversity"?? I can't even get armour with good rolls, nor the materials to masterwork them to even bother trying out new mods.

Modifié par Puma Kane : 6/16/2020 11:59:52 AMYou do have a point. The whole sunset ordeal leaves a doubt in just about everything one does, here on out. The new builds can be strong AF though, but the expiration is inevitable.
