So I recently participated in the Game2Give charity event in order to raise funds for children's hospitals across North America as well as Bungie's iPads for kids program which is done through the Bungie Foundation.
This in turn resulted in a handful of codes coming my way that I still have hanging around. In fact, I have in total 3 Mist Blossom emblems and 2 Glided Ghost Shells to give away, which will all be given out over the next several weeks.
So, for starters I'll be giving away the emblem. If you want a chance at receiving it, just reply to this thread explaining what it is you enjoy about the Bungie/Destiny Community and sharing what it is you do to contribute positively to the community itself.
In a weeks time one individual will be selected and given the emblem.
Annnnnd, go!

Just want to say thanks to everyone who shared their stories and who took the time to spread positive energy by sharing what they do to help make this community better, if even just by one little positive action at a time. I genuinely appreciate the efforts being made out there by all of you. You're part of what keeps the gears turning around these parts, by making this giant ever-changing community function in a fun and memorable way. Congrats to FusionTRifling for winning the emblem this time around. Keep an eye out for future contests!

1 commentaireModifié par Sage : 11/18/2019 8:00:37 AMI love Destiny 2 and the people I have met in it. FROM D1 to now, the game has been the only loot based shooter that the loot and game itself does in fact value my time. Triumph seals, stats, and loot from endgame helps to have a flex- and gives me a purpose to keep going. Helping others get their triumphs done drives me in this game. As for the positivity- in D1 I was barred from raids really. No matter how hard I tried- I just couldn't get any raid done in D1. Be it my own LFG posts or me trying to join one. It burned me out. When I came to D2, I made it a personal vendetta to learn everything I could- raid as much as possible, and help whom I can. So far.... so good. I have been sherpa-ing people in various guilds I'm associated with. The gratification of getting a first completion for someone is amazing.... and when they are ready.... the excitement of chasing seals with them all pays off. My favorite moments in Destiny 2 so far have been: -Getting Shadow Seal -Getting to Legend this season, (had extreme help in last season), next season I am unbroken. -Finishing the CoS week 1 and giving my jacket code away to someone who wanted it. -Getting matched with Cozmo on my team for momentum control, and winning a bungie bounty. this day was seriously hilarious, and it turns out in the stream. cozmo was forced to wear an IRL Lord Shaxx Mask. -Most importantly, the people I meet in general are all amazing! They taught me what I know now and I owe it all to them. My network grew, my personality grew, and my actual life skills grew somehow from applying my learning/ application methods in game to real life. It is a lot like how music influences students to become better students. Overall- emblem or not- I felt the need to share here. The game has its flaws, its ups and downs, and its victories. The game is not perfect, but, the game is perfect for me and the people I have met so far. You rock for spreading good vibes around. Take my bump.

2 commentairesTomorrow is the day! Also remember that if you participate but aren't selected, there will still be a few more chance to win in the coming weeks.

1 commentaireGonna rebump this ^_^. We need more posts like this.

I don't have much to say, but... I think what I love about the community is how invested into the game they are. Every time I get on the forums, someone is complaining about something. BUT. They almost always try and tell Bungie how to fix it! They always provide feedback. They always try to make the game better for everyone. Even though they complain, they try and work with Bungie because they have a passion for this game. I'm not going to write 5 paragraphs just to get the emblem. That's what I have to say plain, and simple. Thanks for offering free stuff! =)

1 commentaireModifié par Mint the Kirin : 11/18/2019 2:28:16 AMWhen a bad day happens for whatever reason. When I get on Destiny and meet some random player nothing is said between us but we just synchronize. There is just fluid gameplay with everyone playing their part. When doing something goofy and someone joins in. Being a New Light player it was intimidating to jump into this game but I have met some very friendly veteran players that have helped me along the way even if I knew nothing and was more of a burden. As a very shy person who has played a lot of online games solo because of that. Meeting people with no usage of communication that can still bring a smile to my face. It is these moments that brighten up my day and what I like about the community. For what I contribute Whenever I am on a planet and an event pops up even if I don't need to do it if I see someone doing it or fighting a boss I join in because I like helping others.

Modifié par Insatiable : 11/18/2019 4:40:29 AMWell I love destiny's community for the fact that it brings so many people together . Nothing brings me as much enjoyment as doing something as simple as strikes while chatting with friends, to trying first time raids with random individuals , who are always so friendly and helpful. Sure , a lot of people hate on this game for wanting groups for activities, but that's what I love , it just creates a more fun and happy experience , with the right people of course. What I do to help in my spare time is helping people randomly I see around on planets who seem new and ask if they need guidance . New light offers pretty minimal direction to newcomers, so I see it as something enjoyable and worthwhile to help new guardians get on their feet and hopefully come to appreciate the game as many of us do :)

Not gonna participate, but you're doing a good job. I like ya.

In D1, I helped dozens of Guardians complete Crota's End and King's Fall for the first time. I was the chill guy who calmly directed traffic, not the grumpy guy that booted people for messing up once. Nowadays I'm a husband and father, so I don't have much time to raid, but I still enjoy starting dance parties in the Tower while wearing the chicken mask and the poultry petting emote.

1 commentairePeople like you who keep the community connected and are generous, Also the people you meet on LFG, they can be really nice :) Finally what the Bungie Foundation does, it’s a great way to paint a positive image to those who aren’t within the Destiny community.

Modifié par One Lost Knight : 11/19/2019 1:25:19 AMTo be frank I enjoy everything about this game and community. While I don't contribute much aside from helping players at random from time to time. If I were to be specific I would say the passion each and every one of us have for this game. Be it being a die hard fan to vehemently pointing out each and every flaw. To the wonderful works of art and stories that are made from hearts and souls. The content creaters and streamers that voice our and their opinions as well as provide entertainment. From the casuals to hardcore sweats that make up this playerbase. And to Bungie themselves for making a wonderful game holding so much detail. We all have a little community for each of us somewhere in this game and that's simply inspiring. As if we're all really Guardians and the small communities we're apart of are our Ghosts all under one Traveler; Destiny.

1 commentaireModifié par Caggus : 11/18/2019 1:21:14 AMI don’t actually want either of them but you’re an awesome user and I want to support this thread because you helped raise money. I like the offtopic part of Bungie the most to be honest. There’s not a whole lot of room for wholesomeness on a forum where everyone cries for nerfs or attacks people constantly because it’s the tough guy subforum. In offtopic it’s a more tightly knit community and I like how they all act to each other. As for the people in game I meet through LFG, some of them have helped me more than they needed to which makes me want to go the extra mile to help others in LFG as well. I owe my first whisper of the worm run to helpful people so now I like running it with other guys to help them earn it too. There’s a real sense of chivalry in some of the community and I love it. I have no idea what I add to the community, I guess shitpost occasionally or relay information that can spark discussion over in offtopic. I try my hand at writing a little sometimes as well (wrote my own SCP about a cave that’s actually alive and slowly consumes anyone who enters it, enslaving them to its will until they become part of it) but it’s no good compared to some of the others lol. I do like contributing though. Anyways good on you for offering this stuff and especially good on you for raising money for a good cause. You consistently manage to wow me.

Modifié par Talia Sendua : 11/18/2019 11:40:00 PMI enjoy the community (even if I hate the interaction sometimes) because our community is a large variety of guardians. From new lights in their young ages to veterans in their late years. We are not just players, but part of something bigger. In this community we have also alot of artists, writters and designers that like to create fan content that is entertaining and of course art. We are not just the common people, the buisness guys, the parents or more stereotypes of our society... WE. ARE. GUARDIANS. And also part of this game universe we all love.

I enjoy the feeling of the accomplishment with friends doing activities like raids or quests or just farming for the cool looking armor. If I didn't think this game was amazing for those things wouldn't have kept playing this long.
-
I already have the emblem, I just wanted to give your post a bump for trying to do something positive on the forums.

1 commentaireYou just don't want it because there are no dragons on it.

While I have and still do criticize this game and Bungie. I’ve been around since the games beta and my love and passion for this franchise is never ending, Bungie has created something truly special that have touched the hearts of all of its players. This community is one that sticks around time and time again no matter the obstacle or problem, we all care for each other despite our difference of opinion or bickering back and forth. I love Destiny and all its done and how much it means to me as a player.
-
I love the devs and community for destiny. I joined back when the ttk came out and I just wanted to say thank you for making me stick around with the game through the ups and downs. Cheers to anyone else in the contest

What I enjoy most is coming out of my shell and meeting amazing people. And those people helped me overcome social anxiety issue's and made me a better person in general

I havent been able to play Destiny in a while due to cancer and chemotherapy / radiation treatments - not to mention surgeries. It would be nice to have a new emblem and/or ghost when I am able to return to gaming. If you have a code leftover - I would be glad to have it. Hopefully, I can get back to my console soon and get back to being a gamer instead of a patient. And thank you for giving out these codes like this instead of selling them on ebay like most people do. Much love.

Modifié par Sturm with no Drang : 11/18/2019 4:46:00 AMHeck, I’ll join in on this. For me, it’s the part of the community that has stayed with us since the D1 days(and even longer before, rip Noble Team), the same folks who spend so long figuring out raids, exotic quests and everything else in between. Without them, we would have taken much longer trying to figure out how to get Sleeper Simulant from D1 or decoding that wacky stack of text from the Collector’s Hive Artifact. Hell, even figuring out glitches and the like are thanks to them. Actually, this is starting to sound like an early Thanksgiving thread now that I think about it. Anyways, I’ve usually found posts and the like where I can answer other players’ questions about quests and the like, but personally, the biggest thing for me was being able to see both sides of the line when seeing the criticism around Bungie’s changes to the game. It’s easy seeing only the bad parts or just wearing rose-tinted glasses and ignoring the bad. There are things that need to be addressed better by the community and without constant toxicity that gets us nowhere, otherwise we’ll end up pushing away Bungie just as much as they have to us. We gotta be better about it to see this game and community approve. Also, I stay and defend spawn points on Control games. It’s not an easy job being a support role, but it’s an honest one if nothin’ else.

I like you :) Destiny and destiny 2 has given me some life long friends... I know it's a meme, the whole "friendgame" thing but it rings true :)

1 commentaireWhat I enjoy about Bungie and Destiny community? The fact that Destiny no matter what you think about it, is passionate project, there are not many other games with such well developed world filled with lore, backstories, that evolves with how players play it, making their stories canon (guardians jumping down from Tower). The fact that I can get immersed into it from the very first moment I start the game says a lot. And how do I contribute to this? Helping clanmates, writting down objective feedback here and there, trying to limit toxicity and instead embrace developers with some sort of understanding and respect while pointing out what they could do different and better, and trying to add to the overall world by writting down my own stories from it.
