To everyone stating that you should play comp cause it’s fun and not for reward. Please understand that you sound like a compete fhucking moron. Do you even think before the stupidity just flows from you? Nothing in this game is done for fun. This used to be a looter shooter till bl3 came out and out of shame had to change to action MMO. If there is no loot what is the point of the game mode.

Im happy with this. I play PvP to have fun, I am not interested in 'comp' and comp is a joke of a mode that is basically there just to irritate me on a seasonal basis as I grind to get the needed 'weapon' because its top tier in PvE. Those weapons were making all other weapons in the game irrelevant, even exotics. All Comp should have is top tier cosmetic items to earn... like every other game that has a comp playlist.

I wonder if you realise that the point of playing games is to have fun. The game should be fun enough to play, and the loot is a side benefit. Loot should not be the sole reason you even play an activity.

Personally, I believe both competitive and raid rewards should be purely cosmetic. Maybe give raid gear extra perks that are only active inside the raid, but otherwise, keep the rewards cosmetic. Pvp players (which I am not) should not be forced to run the raids in order to get the best weapons, neither should pve players be forced to run competitive in order to do the same. Rewards from these activities should give you a sense of accomplishment for earning them, which cosmetics will do (as proven countless times in other games) without giving you measurable advantages over players who have yet to earn them. The caveat to this method is that the reward needs to be worth the effort, which means cosmetic rewards need to look good. If you go down this route, and the rewards for these activities is another reskinned reskin, there is no incentive to earn those rewards. Raid and competitive rewards should be cosmetic items that, when other players look at you, should think "wow, that looks #$%^ing awesome, I want to look like that person!". Competitive rewards that give players a measurable advantage over players who don't have them just creates a wall of extra difficulty for the less skilled players that discourages them from wanting to play competitive while encouraging paid carries, ddosing, and other forms of cheating. Bungie has learned the hard way that giving skilled players better gear than the less skilled players will only hurt the game, as it has, but the lesson they seem to have taken from this is that there shouldn't be any incentive at all? I'm going to tell you now, Bungie. Make the raid, and do your competitive rebalancing. Then make a set of raid gear, and a set of competitive gear. Not a reskin, definitely not a reskinned reskin, but something that genuinely looks cool and unique. I guarantee you that players will want to get such gear even if that gear doesn't give them special advantages over the players who don't have them. If you really want players who earn this gear to get special advantages, give the raid gear perks that are raid exclusive as the Leviathan gear has. Give the competitive gear perks that allow players to earn extra tokens or something for playing crucible. Go with unique animations or something for the weapons, or even add unique character animations that can only be earned through those game modes.

I drink beer, fart and play crappily in Crucible. In that order of importance.

The raid shouldn’t drop armor or weapons. Isn’t FUN enough reason for raid? Bungie, please remove all loot from the game so toxic people and cheaters will all disappear.

Casuals are the death of every great game that requires you have skill to earn something more than the average player. It makes me sick that In bungies eyes everyone deserves a gold star.

They probably changed comp like this to get more people in there. Casuals will be more inclined to go for the old guns like Recluse/Luna etc now that there is solo. Not to mention you know they are gonna require some comp for that Scout Rifle too. It'll only take 1 YouTuber posting a 15+min video about how "OP" it is to get everyone's butt into comp.

maybe........... just [b]FUN???[/b]. Thats the goal of any game: make its players to have fun. I am glad toxic people and cheaters will have no more interest on competitive. Pinnacle stuff was clearly adding more toxicity than fun to the game.

1. Comp was actually fun toward the end of last season regardless of rewards 2. There are still pinnacle weapons but they're called 'Ritual Weapons'. There is still somewhat of a hunt involved with the playlist... They just won't be meta defining like they were last season. ..hopefully

Furthermore: If we can’t get pinnacle weapons through comp, how are we going to get the “fabled warrior” triumph / the unbroken seal? One triumph is getting 3 weapons of the fabled glory rank. ???
