Edit: it will die for me, not everyone. I see some good points below, changes will bring more people in and the game will lose some people. I'll probably be the latter.
Disclaimer: This is not a threat, more of a prediction based off my personal experiences and trending topics over the last few seasons.
This is my personal list of issues which will prevent me continuing my journey with Destiny after 5 years.
Still no dedicated multiplayer servers after 5 years = inconsistent gameplay and massive packet loss due to P2P connections with players on different continents or players with poor connections to begin with.
Still no real use of Factions in D2 besides a couple short duration events, now they sit there doing nothing.
No vendor item weekly refresh or gear to chase from vendors (still offering year 1 gear in some cases like Asher Mir on Io and many others)
Still no strike specific weapons outside nightfalls and no strike specific armour across all strike lists.
More and more reskins coming into the game brought to attention by the preview of some armour from Shadowkeep. No new designs, just old gear with new skins or a shader applied.
Nerfs to powerful weapons and supers instead of creating challenging and unique encounters. We were melting end game bosses too quickly because the mechanics never changed not because we were overpowered. Somone recently brought up the Oryx fight, good example of a unique encounter, it didn't matter how powerful you were, it required teamwork and timing to detonate 16 bombs at the same time for heroic. Not standing in a warlocks well and spamming the highest current DPS weapon. The power fantasy dies every time a major nerf is announced.
This is just a short list of what is pushing me away from the game, there is much more but I have to head to work now.

Here we go again

Can’t really argue against your opinion. Happy travels then!

Ive been playing destiny faithfully for a few years now and im honestly bored of it. Theres nothing worth grinding for. The game was great at first but now is sooo crappy. Destiny 1 was better than part 2. The game never got stale and boring. People try and say it was activisions fault that destiny 2 was so terrible but since theyve split, it seems as if it wasn't there fault at all.

I hardly play destiny 2. I use to play it all the time. But with all these nerfs . It got to the point enough is enough
Destiny is about to die
Along with your forum reputation! Gottem

See you when shadowkeep drops.

Having a bunch of new players start playing because it’s free doesn’t actually mean anything. D2 was given away for free on two platforms at the end of year one. It did not increase the daily player rate for long. Some players stuck around but other players quit. D2 is designed to be a hobby game people stay engaged (and therefore spending money on). Simply giving people a taste for free doesn’t guarantee that there will become that kind of player, or that they will stick with it at all. PVP players used to dedicated servers will drop it quickly.

They should’ve never listened to the community

only Destiny can kill Destiny, so ironic

Im too excited for Borderlands 3 to even care

2 commentairesModifié par Dredgen Araphel : 9/2/2019 9:53:31 PMNot even close. People say this stuff all the time when the are upset. Next they'll be overjoyed once the menagerie gets its buff. Community is bipolar.

6 commentairesAgain? It supposedly died a lot already. Maybe it'll die for you (and me maybe...) , but it's not going to go anywhere.

[so what you’re saying is you’re suffering from burnout?]

“Still no dedicated multiplayer servers after 5 years = inconsistent gameplay and massive packet loss due to P2P connections with players on different continents or players with poor connections to begin with.” I have no issues at all with matchmaking, Very little lag and I always get paired up with players from NZ/Aus (I’m from NZ) “Still no real use of Factions in D2 besides a couple short duration events, now they sit there doing nothing.” Cause they did stuff in D1? Pick up tokens to rank up factions for an exotic class item, that’s literally all they did. If anything they are the equivalent to the plantery vendors minus the weapons/class item. “No vendor item weekly refresh or gear to chase from vendors (still offering year 1 gear in some cases like Asher Mir on Io and many others)” I agree that they should all be updated every season/DLC but honestly I couldn’t care less. There were only a handful of weapons that were insta buys in D1. If they never reset I doubt people would care that much. “Still no strike specific weapons outside nightfalls and no strike specific armour across all strike lists.“ This imo is an issue, All the nightfall items should drop from regular strikes. Nightfalls should drop them more often. “More and more reskins coming into the game brought to attention by the preview of some armour from Shadowkeep. No new designs, just old gear with new skins or a shader applied.” Reskined items for the new raid 100% shouldn’t be a thing period. I have no idea what they’re thinking. “Nerfs to powerful weapons and supers instead of creating challenging and unique encounters.” I disagree, Nerfs are inevitable. No game will ever be 100% balanced, things get overlooked when they create these things and buffing everything up is a bad idea. The problem is they generally go way overboard when it comes to nerfing. Whisper nerf was “fine” it was way to strong in its prime. They should’ve reduced it reserves down to 3 or even 0 and kept it perks as it was though. Luna’s nerf was terrible, Howl didn’t need a change. They killed it in PvE. Nova Warp needed a nerf but they took it WAY too far. Scouts shouldn’t have been nerfed when everything else got a buff, should’ve left it alone. The rest of the nerfs imo have been fair, nothings really been killed off in anyway. Bottom tree Striker needs a nerf, it getting a nerf won’t kill this game but in fact do the opposite.

It's not going to die. Some destiny fans will eat up anything Bungie gives them, they'll be here for the next 20 years.

8 commentaires2 things made me leave when Forsaken came out: #1- Messing with the infusion process #2- Half the gear in Collections are locked Im tying up a few loose ends, hitting 750, playing the content i missed throughout the year...and i most certainly wont even give Shadowkeep a chance. I'll check back in Sept. 2020 and see if Bungie learned anything
-
I think it’ll just drop certain types of players and possibly bring in others. I think the loss will likely be greater than the gain though. I’m still on the fence about continuing.

People have been saying that since D1 and yet here we are. If you to see an actual dead game go look at Anthem.

I'm going to give you a 10 in originality.
