You might read the title and say some bs like "well it has pvp and competitive so why not..." I will address that shortly but first let me ask you something. Why out of every shooter on the market, all of which have PVP do you choose the loot shooter to be serious about pvp in? Seriously battlefield, CoD, Overwatch, everything else out as it comes to shooters is PVP based entirely. They don't have any serious PVE to focus on. Hell most of them barely have anything you could call a story anymore. All their eggs are in the pvp basket. Go there.
Now let me ask you why do you think Trials hasn't returned? Why do you think custom games haven't been seriously expanded on to at least reach Halo 2 or 3 levels which are games Bungie made 10 plus years ago and had better custom games? Why do you think when a new expansion is coming they show a bunch of story stuff, a raid teaser, a strike or two, and then maybe show off a pvp map along with a new exotic weapon or a cool armor set they want you to see? It's because the game is and should be PVE centric. It should and always will be the focus. In fact if D3 leaks are to be believed pvp might be open World only. Something I wanted since the beginning.
Stop banking on this games pvp. If that's seriously the "replayability" keeping you here you might as well quit. We have three different horde mode activities, 3 raids, 2 lairs, a dungeon and other things like the Whisper quest to replay. Not to mention strikes which I believe need some improving. PVP is a fun little side activity and that's it. They made competitive with hopes of Esports but that's a joke. It will always be a joke in a lootshooter game with inherent imbalance. Play it for fun. Don't take it so seriously and whine for nerfs.
Edit: a lot of butthurt as expected. I never said remove pvp. I said stop complaining, you can't even agree on the changes. All of a sudden some of you want shotguns gone again. In case you forgot people hated the two primary system which was created because of pvp whining. Same with making many abilities, grenades, melee, recharge rates all weaker. Same with strong exotic weapons.

11 commentairesBut what brought in the popularity? What made it top Twitch for months on end? Trials. Not strikes. Not raids. I enjoy both but they become stale and repetitive quickly. Why not invest in PvP When it clear that what adds the most popularity and longevity to the game and its far more repayable and different than PvE

2 commentairesModifié par Paperu5456 : 1/2/2019 11:41:48 PMJust one word: gunplay. Gunplay of this game is extremely enjoyable,I really like landing shoots with hand cannons or burst firing with pulse rifles, good TTK, supers and so on..gunplay. I play pvp just for that, and I Also like a lot PVE. Bungie created a fantastic gunplay and then..try with all his strenght to ruin it with: 1) terrible netcode with absence of dedicated servers, constantly affected by lag, connections issues, cheaters 2) obscene matchmaking, really the worst seen on a FPS so far. Totally without any sense 3) Greedy policy with DLC and Cosmetics (anyone remember Osiris DLC?Eververse??) 4) Constant unbalance of weapons, class, supers, matchmaking and so on 5) That terrible sensation that game is someway “manipulated” And that are the major issues of PVP part, but the list could be way longer.. That is why so many people like pvp of this game, even if is so frustrating to bear bloming, lags, bad matchmaking and so on, even if I consume tons of Maalox (antiacid), hoping that something change.. We love that f...ing gunplay, and we don’t find it anywhere else by now!! P.S. Sorry for my bad English

You should checkout this little podcast called Crucible Radio;)

I like the crucible because it seems to be part of the story, and also ... I love iron banner. I like to play PvP and PvE. That’s why I love playing Gambit so much. It’s cool if they put effort in both areas.

I choose the loot shooter I care for lore. I traditionally enjoy the universes that Bungie crafts, and I think they’re well on their way to righting the ship after D1. I also enjoy many aspects of PVP, though I’ll be the first to admit there are some glaring warts there. Overall, I come for the PVE but I stay for the PVP. Though I’m grateful they’re amping up the content drip feed lately — it has me working toward powerful gear more than ever.

2 commentairesValid points except Bungie seems to treat pvp views and changes as a result of pvp with greater priority. Does that mean bungie thinks Destiny is more pvp focused than you think?
-
You're like 3 years late... We have countless patches proving beyond the shadow of a doubt the devs are too lazy or unskilled to separate the nerfs for pvp in pve. They don't give a -blam!-... they don't even care about pvp ffs! Its essentially another CoD where they don't care how many players they lose as long as enough kids who have no idea about the game and its designers past decisions can Badger their parents into buying it for them. Everything you said and everything you can think of saying has already been said and subsequently ignored. Those of us still here (myself included) have some form of battered wife syndrome where we tell ourselves "it will get better, it's not that bad, it's not bungies fault it's Activision"

3 commentairesThe problem is pve is too easy but if they make it harder they alienate casuals. They are in a tough spot but even the nightfalls 100k can be soloed. So I hate to tell bungie but delta scaling didn’t help, pve is a snore fest. The forge is out this week and instead of getting access to all the frames (I need a god rolled auto) they gave me the 3 I farmed already. Had they allowed me to choose the frames I wanted, I’d still be farming the AR....................but...they didn’t.
this dev team cannot be more disconnected with its fan base.
Would that be those PvP modes that are 20 years old in their design? I would not have said anything, if they ripped off Counter-Strike, i.e. a game that actually became an E-Sport. But instead, Destiny has those 20 year old PvP modes that did NOT become an E-Sport. I suppose, Bungie is not allowed to compete with other in-house titles, so no build diversity on the level of Overwatch and no Battle Royale either, since that belongs to CoD now. I assume Activision does this to optimize monetization of these game-modes in their respective titles. Not sure, if I like open world PvP either. What should that lead to? People returning to orbit to find an instance with less griefers? Watching a lot of loading screens? Destiny is great in that each player you meet in the open world enriches your experience. Sure, sometimes they do not know how to make the event heroic, but that is fine. I hate to see D3 go the route of making the experience of meeting other players miserable for the sake of edge-lord promotion. Ubisoft tried, broke the entire balance of their game and the player-fun economy. The strength of Destiny is that it is fun, without trying to be overly comedic. It focuses on the heroics and does not try to be grim-dark every chance it gets. It occupies a good tonal middle ground between Borderlands and the Division. For a game one plays regularly that is just as important as the loot game, because I swear if I have to crawl another sewer listening to audiologs of people with PDST recording their last sobbing words before being burned alive, horribly dying to a plague or something similar.... ...you get the point. Destiny, the more lighthearted game featuring interdimensional tentacle meatball monsters and an invading army of pan-galactic fascists, i.e. the Red Legion.

1 out of 8 NPCs in the tower is pvp centric. RIP Cayde6
. They made competitive with hopes of Esports
because this is a pve game....

2 commentairesDidn’t make it very clear, this is definitely a PvP centric game.
-
Sooo since d1, you'd have everyone use thorn, last word, truth, chaperone, red death countless other guns to kill dregs?
-
4 commentairesFor Hawthorne caring so much about your clan doing good for the people and the city, she sure likes bounties that just have guardians kill each other. So beneficial for the city.
-
Hmmm, never thought about it that way, makes sense.

9 commentairesI am all for going back to the old days of PVP in general, not D1 days. You start with a standard rifle, hand gun and a grenade. You have to actively seek out better guns and power ammo. Causes you to keep moving, creates stand offs at the power ammo and more. Let me pick up a that LMG or Bygones. I also think PVP should lose the weapon perks. Let PVP have just the standard base weapon. Keep everybody on a level playing field.
-
Play it for fun.
I do... by playing PvP.
-
For me at least, the problem is that I don't like the PVP in some of the other games that you've mentioned. I like Destiny PVP. Plain and simple. I like the Time to Kill, I like the way the guns feel, I just like the game and it's PVP.

*standing while clapping- beautiful, sir, beautiful.

3 commentairesModifié par lCertifiedl : 1/2/2019 5:13:27 PMYeah I've started thinking the same, how much more creative could we be with weapons and classes if PvP wasn't considered? I don't think it's going anywhere but hoping bungie realise PvE is where the focus needs to. PvP will never be balanced so don't understand what people really want from a loot driven RPG. Before anyone says trails saved destiny either, no it didn't, taken king saved destiny 1, trails is that good bungie abandoned it and made gambit, if that don't tell you something then I'm not sure what will.

Xbox/PC master race

Destiny never meant to have PVP. becouse of activison they had to cut 90% of the PVE content to give us a reason for the DLCs. and to give us a time killer they added PVP.
-
2 commentairesIts because the shooting and movement feel so much better in Destiny than any other shooter....and Ive played pvp in other games and nothing compares to how great it feels in Destiny. Battlefield is ok,played quite a bit of each game since BF4 but it always has a clumsy feel compared to Destiny. I think people want it to be amazing because of how great the game feels compared to other pvp exp...thats why I wish it was amazing enough to pull my focus away from pve stuff.
