I was very happy with the weapon slot changes, and for once the forums are filled with positive things about destiny 2 instead of just being whining and complaining. However, after spending 100 dollars on the game without it improving over a year, I’m a bit skeptical about spending any more money on it. But it does look fun, and I do want to play it, I just want to know if it’s worth the price of admission
Edit: Someone said “no”. I kinda would like to know why you think that
Edit 2: It’s been a week now. Let’s see if the response is the same

1 commentaireThis maybe asking too much but considering how awful D2 was the first year Bungie really should have given us Forsaken for Free then asked $35-40 for the Season Pass. Because year 1 was extremely pathetic along with it's atrocious worlds and crappy DLCs. Everything since day 1 has been crap. Instead they promised changes to make it more like D1, to bring back the grind, to make it good then changed the business model by saying Forsaken is $40 and on top of that we now want $35 for a Season Pass. All this should have been packaged in D2 having learned and grown from D1. Put simply, a token of gratitude in giving us Forsaken would have gone a long way with A LOT of Destiny players/fans. Not only that but at the end of the day Bungie would still be raking in the $35, or even $40 if they wanted, for the Season Pass which almost everyone would have bought after getting Forsaken and seeing the changes. Then next year progressed with the $40 DLC alongside a $35 Season Pass. I've stood by Destiny since Day of D1. After last year I can't in good faith continue to feed Bungie. Several of my friends have taken the same stance and over half of those who did buy Forsaken are disappointed yet again. And we are all big Destiny fans/players since day 1 D1. Personally I may buy Forsaken on sale at a later date but this game, rather, more so Bungie have left a sour taste in my mouth far too many times now. Don't get me wrong. At the end of the day Destiny, at it's CORE has always been a fantastic FPS. But the list of problems, complaints, lack of end game content, etc are far too many to list. And going back to a previous point, the Worlds of D2 are simply boring. Also Bungie should strongly consider pouring more MMO elements into Destiny. Exclusive item drops for Notorious Monsters, more loot specific strikes, quests, etc.

It’s only been 4 days, for all I know this might still be the honeymoon period where everything seems perfect, afterall, most players were raving about how great Destiny 2 was after the first week, so I’d wait a few more weeks to see what the long term consensus is. For what’s its worth however, I think Forsaken is probably the best content this franchise has ever had ( and yes, I’m including all the Destiny 1 Expansions as well ). It’s not perfect, but Bungie weren’t lying when they said that Forsaken is culmination of everything they’ve learnt from Destiny 1 and Destiny 2.

Honestly it’s way to soon. The game has been pretty fun but yesterday I’ve pretty much run out of meaningful things to do on my character. It’s seems like there will be another ‘content drop’ when the city changes and the raid and strike come out but until then it’s basically just a light level grind. Honestly my guess is if you play a lot it will be fun for a good 2 weeks and then after it will just be a light grind to 600 and a triumph grind for completion. I’d wait another week or two if you really aren’t sure.

Not a lot of content. Just two empty spaces. Lacking long story. DC is pretty though.

Modifié par olly5656 : 9/7/2018 3:04:22 AMAs someone else said surprisingly yes But be warned everyone is riding high off the new spark from new content, even CoO had people enjoying it the first couple day. Ask this question again in 2 weeks and you’ll have a real consensus.

If you don't like doing PvP for quests or the amount of masterwork cores needed for infusion then it's not for you. Honestly you should wait a couple of weeks for better reviews to come out.

I'd hold off if your thinking of buying the game or putting the money back for college... in a month the truth will shine through

I voted no. Destiny has gone back to not respecting a player's time. The same people that are gushing about the new dlc grind are the same people that complained about factions not selling gear and having to grind for it. Faction rallies was one of Bungie's good choices that was executed poorly by sticking to lost sectors. Your time was rewarded. The positives are the story and the dreaming city. The broadsword is almost a good example of an actual grind. The reset valor step is a bit unnecessary. The Ace of Spades and chaperone quests were good. Collections allowing you to pull gear without hitting the tower is great. The best thing Bungie can do is look at games that do grind right. Borderlands has RNG but it was focused. Certain bosses had drops and high level gear was randomized. If I grind a boss for hours, not only did I get a good gun and could work for a better, I could also gain skill points to make my character better. You could sink hours in and have some kind of gain the whole time. Tl/Dr Destiny has gone overboard with artificial grind. Players should kept in game with events, not time gated progression and incredibly low drop rates that also include a year worth of gear you already have. Hours played should equal progress.

10 commentairesBtw the Chaperone quest is easily the easiest one.
-
If you want to have a solid and fun grind for about a month, maybe a month and a half, then yea, it's worth it.
-
2 commentairesI voted no, just because half of this dlc as advertised should have been in the base game to begin with. So in theory all i'm paying for is the story, new game mode (gambit) and two new areas to explore, a few new supers and a raid. Which when you compare it to their other D2 DLC's the only thing you're getting extra is a few powers. D1 DLC's all came with raids and not these 20 minute 6 man strikes. Not salty, just think a lot of the hype is for something we should have already had.

4 commentairesValue is perceived differently by every buyer. Its like asking if a mustang is worth 40k. To some yes to some no. Only you can really decide if its worth it. To me its worth it.

17 commentairesModifié par polorboy : 9/7/2018 3:45:59 AMAvoid this game, the have ruined Destiny. Anyone who is saying it is good is outright lying. Everything is behind ridiculous requirements. Forget about ever infusing anything again unless you are willing to grind for resources like some horrible MMO. They have 100% remade this game catered towards the streaming idiots who praise everything that Bungie does. So, unless you are ones of those retards, avoid at all costs. Do you like PvP.. no... too bad, they force it now to get a lot of crap. There is nothing good about this release, don't waste your money. Even certain moment of triumphs are behind a pay wall. So, unless you shell out ridiculous amounts of cash for the "limited edition" you can't get that moment of triumph. That isn't even a part of game pay, they are just rewarding the retards who spent stupid amounts of money. Even the story line is horrible. The only reason Cade dies is to give a reason to go to the reef and kill someone else... wow what a plot.... I bet a whole lot of thought went into that one.

1 commentaireMost of it is cut content anyway,

5 commentairesIt’s only two days old and there’s more negative posts than positive posts on this forum already .

Wait another couple of weeks, Warmind was full of praise for a week, and then the negative things showed up

2 commentairesForsaken might be, but CoO and WM aren't worth the compulsory purchase in order to play Forsaken. So I'm still going to say 'no'.

2 commentairesIt’s your money dude, don’t ask these plebeians how to spend it.

2 commentairesModifié par Blitz : 9/7/2018 5:40:51 AMI think its worth it. It's $200 with no monthly fees or F2P garbage that other MMO's have. The grind is slow and hopefully the raid is fun. Give it a few weeks and some people will regret having to grind weapons and gear but I'm the type that likes it so if they keep it I'll probably stay. That being said I feel they got lazy with the random rolls. From what I can see only a few select weapons from Y1 got rolled and are locked behind the DLC. Kind of annoying if you don't have the DLC but its something to consider. If this update was free I'd like it even more honestly. Monster Hunter World ran into the problem on PC that there's nothing to do past HR 100+ just an arbitrary number that gets bigger. Rumors are a big expansion will drop for free is what I really want to see. Don't know why Bungie couldn't do the same. Hell MHW doesn't even have a loot box cash shop to fund "free updates".

1 commentaireAt this point, I don’t think anyone can say no.

Definitely.

I think it just depends on how much you like Destiny. Kill many and Die often!
