If you think Trials isn't dying, you don't play the game or read the forums.
Why is it dying? Paid carries/recoveries and cheating.
Paid carries/recoveries are "Pay to Win" which violates Bungie's EULA. However, Bungie has done little to nothing to stop it. The recruitment thread is littered with posts for carries/recoveries. Pay to Win is the bane of gaming, but Bungie just lets it slide for some reason. All of the Eververse is "Pay to Win" stuff was pure nonsense. Trials has been Pay to Win since D1. No huge uproar from the fan base about it either.
The cheating continues because of piss poor handling of those that get caught. Bungie needs to man up and lay down the law: you cheat and your account gets deleted, your MAC address gets banned and your name goes on a public wall of shame. Put it in the EULA. Enough of the 2 week time outs and gear locks. You should be deleting ALL gear obtained via cheating not locking it.
Bungie needs to take a long look at their stat gathering programs and implement a red flag system. Suspicious activity should be caught by the system not dependant on players filing reports. More than a few cracked the Top 100 in the World by cheating the duration of D1. To crack the Top 100 (#4 was highest) in D1 during year 3 took A LOT of cheating, which tells me your "reporting" system is a waste of our time and yours.
I do not play Trials. I will not play Trials as long as Bungie continues to let everything slide. I'd be happy to see it die completely and get removed from the game. I will not support Pay to Win just to play a game mode.
For all of you that like to spout off about how Trials is for the sweatiest of the sweaty and normal players don't deserve to stand a chance, let me ask you some simple questions: the normal players "don't deserve" to go flawless, but the paid carries/recoveries do? Paying for it makes it OK? No, paying for it makes it Pay to Win.
The BS that goes on with Trials is worse than any of the shit Bungie pulled with Eververse. Where's the Community outrage?

In halo reach you got busted exploiting the in game glitches and bungie hit you with a nasty remove all your xp and all your gear was removed. Now if your busted. New account, 4 hours later your back in the game with all the weapons you want and need. It is damn near impossible to stop payed carries. The only way to stop it is to change trials. Ranked, solo, and 4vs cpu game types.

22 commentaires1. Trials isn't dying because of carries. It's dying because pvp is trash. 2. It's not worse than the Eververse ripoff.
-
I really really hope it dies.
-
I honestly hope they just remove trials. I play pvp mostly in both D1 and D2 and i can sincerely say trials is a cancer. Nerfs came from trials in D1 and believe me all these trash balanced guns we have in D2 come from the data of D1. The fun got sucked out of the game and now trials can barely get 100k per weekend from the info i see. Paid carries. Ddossing too are an issue.

Modifié par AnCapaillMor : 2/19/2018 9:19:52 AMI'm not a shill for bungie but here's why cheating will never truly be stopped, for ever legit bit of cheating there's 20 idiots who can't accept that they got beaten by a better team or player. I admin'd Bad company 2 and BF3 servers back in the day and trying to sort out the salty cheat accusations vs the legit was next to impossible. i have come across some cheating in trials, obvious lag switching but most of the times when the guys i'm playing with are going they're cheating, they're just better than us. Do agree with the paid carries tho, if you already completed a flawless, you should be put into a different pool to those that haven't. rarely plays trials but i don't play because i'm crap and not a big fan of countdown, one of the reasons i never got in counter strike back in the day.

I would love a match making mode in addition to the regular mode. You can’t team up in the match making mode. Going flawless will be pretty much impossible, but for a lot of PVE players it feels that way anyway. At least with match making, you can grind for tokens and you will avoid stacked teams.

I don't think this is the end all reason behind this game mode dying. There's so much more that comes into play. I'm assuming you didn't play D1 or frequent the forums during D1 when there would be hundreds of posts trying to get bungie to do something about paid carries. They obviously don't give a shit after trials being an activity and this problem leeching onto it pretty much since it released. It falls on deaf ears dude. We've tried to get it to change, bungie doesn't give enough of a shit about that though. Some how paid carries aren't a problem and doesn't promote toxicity but simple things like game chat are basically refused instead. Maybe it's because the majority of bungie devs who actually do play their own game don't even play this game mode themselves so it's no concern to them even though it's breaks their own rules.

11 commentairesMost of the core fanbase left the game if I had to guess raid is on a similar path. Most ppl who play trials are from the core fanbase and being really good in PVP. If they changed trial's it won't change a thing because the entirety of D2 need changes drastically. -Separate PVP from PVE -add 6v6, 12v12, 4v4 and rumble -competitive mood needs a ranking system -Make power fantasy a thing again -add 2 more subclasses to each class -be creative with your weapon design and perks -be creative with the mods and separate PVE from PVP -add endless PvE content like survival, Defense ect.... That'll be a start

8 commentairesTrials is dying because it is a fundamentally unfair and broken event that is not truly competitive. It’s like letting pros and college athletes beat the crap out of amateurs in a sport and calling that shot show “competitive”. All the problems that Trials is having is because people realize that it’s unfair.

1 commentaireAs usual, Bungie has themselves to blame for paid and free carries. Don't force PVE players into crucible and you will have far fewer PVE players interested. Forcing them? You're an idiot, many will say. Yes, when 2 games in a row you put the best PVE scout rifle in the game in an elite PvP activity, you will have PVE players doing whatever is necessary to obtain it. Burning Eye in and Purpose in D2. And obviously it goes much further than 1 scout rifle but the point is very valid. If Trials is just for the elite PvP players than awesome, make it about rankings and KD and all the garbage that most of the people who play this game don't care about. Promise you...promise...if you take out the enticing drops then you completely eliminate paid carries.

I've been Spawn'd. Go figure...

10 commentairesPut it this way if carries where no longer a thing what do you think those try hard carriers would do instead of carry people? Well ill tell you they will team up in a full party of 4 instead of 2 and it would be nearly impossible for casuals to win verse them so its not really anything to complain about at least with two tryhards and 2 scrubs you have a chance at beating them, think about it...

1 commentaireThe carries are not a problem. Cheating is. But Trials itself is boring compared to D1 Trials.... that is why alot dont play it.

3 commentairesRead: I can't win so everyone else must be cheating. Did you make that tin foil hat or buy it premade?
-
Trials was good during house of wolves D1. This was because of the matchmaking. Rather than being paired with sweaties, it was random therefore giving everyone a higher chance of going flawless. (I remember going at least three times with randos from the forums). Some games you pubstomped the enemy, other games you were the ones who were getting pubstomped, but you also had the games that were incredibly close and very rewarding regardless of win or loss.
-
I finally get what people mean when they say sweaty. sweaty = better player than yourself
-
Why people get sweaty on an fps without dedicated servers is beyond me. Let them have it.
-
How offten do you play trails?

Modifié par BarretOblivion : 2/20/2018 3:03:07 AMThe biggest reason people are getting away with this Pay-to-Win aspect are two reasons mainly. 1) You must go Flawless, you can't lose at any point in 7 matches. This is a mathmatically not favorable for any without ways to stack the odds in their favor. 2) You must have a full pre-made team to participate. This might not seem bad but this makes it easier for people to do "pay to carry" businesses to carry players that pay obscene amounts of money for a flawless run. This might seem insane but this is common place in MMOs, usually to do with guaranteed gear from the latest raids or mounts. Take for example FFXIV, currently there is a entire South Korean FC that takes payments to take control of other players accounts to clear the newest raids with guaranteed raid weapon coffers. They charge I think it was $300 last I checked but people still do it. Square does what they can but they are limited to policing in game and can't do anything about their websites or ebay as its out of their jurisdiction. Same with Bungie here. The reason they don't do PvP is because FFXIV ranked PvP does one thing Bungie doesn't. It REQUIRES you to go in SOLO. Thus they have to rely on randoms in a team focused PvP activity and it gets difficult once you get into the gold and up divisions.

Modifié par JokerAE : 2/19/2018 10:14:46 AMD2 trials dying has nothing to do with ANY of the points you mentioned. The reason why no one plays D2 trials or D2 in general is because the game just sucks, PVP is extremely boring and teamshot heavy, skill does not matter, lack of hero moments... etc... I could go on forever why D2 PVP and PVE sucks.

Modifié par CatMan : 2/20/2018 2:56:26 AM
Lemme save you all some time. D1-D4 is/will be an investment type deal...game. The game will get "fixed"(be😒) over the course of the life cycles each game....sadly. That is if...if if if bungie continues to do this Online required, "mmo"rpgfps thing. I can't see a scenario where they aren't going to be playing catch-up. And before anyone saids it....this ain't Minecraft or World of Warcraft. Think about it
I replied to the wrong post, but I'll keep this here anyway.

2 commentairesWho would even pay for a carry in this game? Like what is there even worth cheating for? :/ lol/sigh
-
Its dying because its boring, D1 trials had all those shit things and people want that back. D2 PVP is boring, that is the problem.
-
Goes to show you, once again a select few ruins another part of the game.
-
I was looking for a raid group with xbox lfg yesterday and saw numerous posts for trials account recoveries, it's crap seeing people getting away with this kind of thing.

I try so hard to play a trials match but then i get beat bye glitchy people even one guy started out with a sweet business and a mananan sr4 and the right in middle of game play thst same person shot me with a Uriels gift like the F wtf is that it’s called cheating so i agree with you man i want the gear and stuff but I don’t see it happening for me till it is fair like crucible but even then people cheat so yeah please bungie like idk what you have to do to change this but match making would probably make trials better and or make it easier to get the weapons and gear make it easier to go flawless or cut out flawless and just let us earn tokens for playing make the spire open to all not just who win
