Please Bungie - open up The Lighthouse to everyone after Trials finishes
Dear Bungie,
I would really like to see the Lighthouse on Mercury, opened up as a social space on the map after Trials finishes on the 14th of August. Nothing else. Just the ability to go there and explore the Lighthouse.
Many players (myself included) will never be good enough to get to the Lighthouse.
I have loved Destiny from Day 1 and would like to see the Lighthouse for one final time before most us transfer over to Destiny 2.
I want to see the beautiful design / art of the Bungie map devs. I want to see Osiris's secret room.
I want to look to the horizon and admire Vex architecture. I want to feel nostalgic, happy and sad.
I want to listen to the chimes and look forward to Trials in D2.

Honestly there is no reason not to open the space up. Those lucky to have made it have emblems/adept weapons. Is this community really this -blam!-ing toxic to care about fellow guardians getting to pay visit? Smh.

I can see both sides of this argument. Some people want the fruits of their labor to stay unique, in that they earned the right to be there. At the same time, many people didn't earn the right to get there and still have made it there. Myself, as someone who has never been there, due to the fact that i do not enjoy elimination game types, and therefore never played trials, do think it would be cool to check the area out. However, also as me, i realize it's a virtual area in a video game that i play that has no outcome whatsoever on my actual life, and that my ego is unaffected due to the fact that i have never been there. Therefore, my argument is as follows: People who have been there, it's not real. You aren't a bigger person for having been there. Who cares. People who have not been there, its not real. Your life isn't affected by you not being there. So i guess what i am actually saying is that i really don't care whether it gets opened up for all to enjoy or not, and nobody else should either.

Not one person who actually earned it is complaining. Go figure. The lighthouse is meaningless. You aren't special because you paid someone else to get you there. The game is over anyway. How does other people seeing the lighthouse affect you? Oh wait, it doesn't. All you are doing is showing everyone the flaws in your character. As soon as people started charging others for carries, the lighthouse lost all of it's meaning. Not to mention it is just a game. People here have some seriously overinflated egos. Being good at a video game doesn't make you special. Hate to burst your bubble. It's just a game. Edit: lmmfao! Look at all the trolls proving me right. Their bruised egos wouldn't allow any less. Since destiny 1 ending give out random raid pieces, adept weapons ,and stuff that the normal people never got to see. None of it carry over to destiny 2 anyways. Hell allow anyone that bought any version of destiny to play all content for next few weeks till destiny 2 comes out.

You know, if Bungie doesn't open it up for general exploration, it's nothing short of a middle finger to all the people who spent weeks to months building it... I don't think anyone's asking for free gear but in all honestly, the vast majority of players have never seen the place because they're not willing to pay people to carry them. There's no harm in just opening the door.

Would be nice to explore in person once. I've always hated the Elimination game type, so I haven't bothered with Trials. The loot hasn't interested me since HoW either. Elemental primaries that were actually good weapons was worth the effort back then. The Adept stuff now is pretty meh.

If I had my way the lighthouse would be a small part of what would open for everyone after D2 releases. I'd put Xur in the lighthouse permanently everyday then have his inventory rotate twice a week Sunday through Wednesday then Thursday through Saturday. Next I'd open all the locked mission, strike, and raid doors to be accessed while on patrol to let the explorers wander freely. Then I'd flush all crucible missions and quests, but insanely buff the rewards for playing without favoring either the winners or losers. You know make the crucible just for fun, messing around, everybody wins, shenanigans galore type of thing. Last I'd shoot the level and light caps through the roof while making the maxes 99 and over 9000.

There's been over 400 days of trials.... No excuse tbh! (Just watch a video of the lighthouse . It's really not that interesting )

Idk if they ever will. Probs not, seeing the toxicity some people have over the thought. I'm pretty sure though that the weapons and armor will drop from crucible matches, as will the iron banner ones. So will the shaders, and sparrow, and ship, probably at least. Making all of the items meaningless. Also the ornament will drop from treasures of the ages. No surprises there. Also Wendy's just gave me fries with no salt, please leave me some salty comments.

7 commentairesOpen it up so anyone can travel there, even if they haven't been flawless, but when they arrive they spawn in dead in random places..... Only flawless players can spawn in alive, that way we get to continue to tea bag the scrubs.....

I got carried by a streamer a few weeks ago so I've seen the lighthouse in all its glory. I agree though, it would be a nice touch to open it up for everyone.

I don't play PvP much in Destiny and I tried ToO once. Realized that I wasn't good enough and never touched it again. I won't subject my friends or random players to my terrible gameplay or connection. It has been over ten years since I was a hardcore PvP competitor. CoD 4 was that game. I was top 20,000 in CoD 4 and it has been too long. The saying "use it or lose it" is so true. *Sigh* I miss the CoD 4 days...

3 commentairesI really haven't done trials other than to fill my ROI book. We only took it halfway serious at the time. For some reason my clan mostly hates the idea of ToO so getting a group together would take some effort. I'm don't have the drive to find a group to do trials with. Lastly I'm not that great at PVP. I have mixed feelings about just opening the lighthouse up for everyone. Part of me is very interested in going to the lighthouse and running around for fun. The other part of me doesn't think it would feel right because I didn't put in effort to earn it.
