Maybe because people are starting to realize Bungie Devs are by far the worst when it comes to the development of a game and listening to its community. In my eyes, they are by far the most ignorant group of Devs. We get game balances by people who hardly, if at all play the game. We have community managers who have little to no playing time and a dev team who makes changes and balances to a game based off of a pie chart and bar graphs. Many people don't want to pre order simply because they do not want to be let down and would rather read and watch reviews to see
If it worth their money.

The same thing is said on every forum page which a developer hosts. Just change Bungie to whatever games company the forum belongs to.
-
That's not true at all. I am in a number of gaming communities and Bungie has been one of the worst for engagement. Also, while not the only ones, they have been caught lying to their community in Destiny 1.....
-
I've read the same things on square, EA, Rockstar and Ubisoft. They all have people shouting that the devs don't care about thier games or communities.
-
Well that's not a surprise and COD isn't much better either, but from an engagement point of view, I see a LOT of dev's (especially on reddit) making a hell of a lot more effort to get their community involved. The Division is an example of where they had massive fall-off (same as Destiny 1 Vanilla) but they started putting engagement mechanisms in place. Bungie did nothing except try a hard "reboot" a year after launch.
-
There was no hard reboot a year after launch. Have you seen what happens when the respond on the forums. The get attacked. If I was them, I would do the same thing and leave it to the community managers.
-
That's what TTK was. They overhauled EVERYTHING for TTK. I actually blame Bungie for that. It's their product and their job to manage and engage with their community. They are awful at that.
-
A hard reboot would of been starting again from the beginning. TTK was a soft reboot of some of the game mechanics.

I think its the sensible thing to do with these guys.
