First impression - this is a PvP beta. One strike is all PvE players get to try.
Weapons - weaker. Strike boss was a bullet sponge. Ads kept coming. No mechanics, just run around the confined areas and shoot stuff. Power ammo drops were infrequent at best. In the time it took to run the strike I saw maybe one power crate drop.
Supers - charge incredibly slow and they don't last long. I would say they are also weaker than D1 supers. In PvE it took a whole super's worth of dawnblade to bring down a yellowbar. In PvP it loaded just as the match was ending. What I see here is supers are tuned to give you one shot at it per PvP match, and they won't overpower a team. PvE gets what is left over after that adjustment.
I am not pleased with what I saw. It's pretty, but initially it feels less than D1. As I'm not a huge PvP fan I don't see a lot here to hold my interest nor does what I see quell my fears this game is indeed built from the ground up around PvP.
May be time to move on.
Edit 1:
Played some PvP tonight with my clan, a couple hours. Matches were mostly even, we won some, lost some, but it looks like it's not going to take long for the nerf cries to start. I'm not going to name the gun consistently dominating play, but one did quickly emerge.
I did my usual mediocre play. I went with Titan striker, and though shoulder charge will not kill a full-health enemy, if they are nicked it will come close. I have to get used to the roaming nature of the super. In spite of forgetting about it being a multiple hit deal, I managed to wipe a team capping B.
I think PvP players will adjust. I think those that stay will come to like it. But, as I said... I don't care for it. I ran a positive k/d, averaging 15 kills a match, but PvP in Destiny leaves me cold. That's just my opinion of course.

4 commentairesOH MY GOD FINALLY But let's be honest, you knew in your heart of hearts this game was gonna suck

Played each activity once. I hate PvP, but I really enjoyed the new 4 vs 4 style. PvE activities...meh...but we know there's more to come.

Modifié par Skipper1175 : 7/18/2017 8:58:53 PMI like that supers are not charging so fast, more focus on gun skills and strategy, I have been having fun with the PvP so far.. I do wish super charged faster in PVE.

Modifié par Ricky : 7/18/2017 8:37:39 PMI changed my jump from high jump to strafe jump and switched to higher mobility armor it made the gameplay so much better for me I am enjoying D2.

Modifié par DragonzReaper : 7/18/2017 8:41:48 PM(got beta) my problem with d2 is that the guns feel clunky and unbalanced plus pvp map to small causing teams to camp on objectivs plus super take to long to recharge by time you got your super it game over , plus the small map cause to much tag team killing and not enough room to put a strategy to fight for objective in place if your trying to go solo your self to help your team. game last less then 5 min or less ,plus point gathing is to fast in game stike were awsome but was a little lost for direction but boss fight were fun and new galidator and dogs were a blast to fight story camping mission was gripping at my heart in excitment

6 commentairesGood feedback but I saw, I did enjoy. First the TTK on weapons have indeed been lowered but we known this for sometime, now yes I do agree with a buff in pve but as far pvp TTK hits what bungie was going for. Secondly supers don't seem that under power, I've managed to get three team wipes so far. I do enjoy that even if you play out of your mind your lucky to get two super a match, this stop team steam rolling others. Now I did play with wife who isn't the most skilled play even she was able to get a super. Finally what pve were you expecting beside the story mission and strike,I did enjoy both

Yeah I'm kind of feeling the same way.

Modifié par KIWI LEGEND : 7/18/2017 10:52:34 PMI tried a couple of games of PvP, but seeing as I'm not a PvP player I won't comment on what I think of that. But the PvE, I reckon the guns are far too weak and boring to use. Abilities take an absolute ridiculous amount of time to generate. Gun perks are lame. Went the entire strike and didn't get 1 single purple ammo brick to drop. Having the same generic perks on guns makes receiving repeat weapons as your loot a waste of time if you don't like that gun. I got a pulse rifle i already had as a reward before and the quick moment of excitement I had when I went to check it's rolls was met with complete disappointment when I remembered it was exactly the same as the one I already had....mediocre. But the graphics and story seem good anyway :-) I have now played all 3 characters and used all 6 subclasses can already see I won't be spending anywhere near the same amount of time playing D2 as I did playing D1. What a disappointment this Beta was.

lol yeah the weapons are for sure weaker. I could see that from the reveal. though when I said that I got slaughtered haha. sad to say I was right. feels like I am fighting with a BB gun now. whole clips to drop ads. having to use heavy shotguns to clear ads so you dont get swamped has become vital now. yellow bars now mean all 3 team shoot or heavy. combat seems very limited so far as supers and nades take so long to power up. Not tried pvp yet though.

1 commentaireI like that supers charge slower same as other abilities. I also love the ability nerfs for pvp. Makes it far more balanced. Its to early to say that pvp is good or bad. My biggest concern was connections. And in the 5 games iv played iv had nothing but lag and bad shot registration. We will see im not going to make a call till the servers actually go live sept 6 but thus far connections for pvp are still terrible

3 commentairesWelcome to the suck

3 commentairesAre the weapons weaker because we are under the light level? that would have been nice to know beforehand so I don't think all weapons suck. Also my first time on the strike, there was no into I was just running around guessing what to do--also are strikes 2 men now? I was playing for a long time with just me and another random. We kept making it all the way to the bottom before wiping, that was disheartening. The sight is off on the scout rifle, you have to aim just above the dot for a critical. It's fun but it's just destiny 1 with some minor changes.

1 commentaireHow were the servers? How was your lag - if you did pvp? Did you get any errors/booted? How was the framerate? Was there any clipping? You're, although entitled to your opinion/review, remember, this is a BETA, not just demo.

16 commentairesThank you for your honest feedback bill. Can always count on you to provide good feedback regarding this game. What you say here essentially confirms the fears I've had about the game since the reveal. However, that said, I'll be playing the beta in 3 days so that I can get a feel for how things go myself. One thing that isn't clear about your post is that you don't detail how much you played the beta in terms of time or how much you spent in PVE vs. PVP. Do you care to elaborate? Just playing devil's advocate here- because I'm sure your aware of my stance on D2- but it is possible that if you didn't play the strike multiple times, maybe you just had really bad luck with the power ammo drops? If you wouldn't mind making a follow up post regarding these questions, I'd appreciate it!

- Nova bomb is too slow - Kept running out of ammo - Not fond of the "Mobility / resilience / recovery" aspect of the armor. I hope they do more than just that in the full game - mix of weapons seems good, although the scout rifle i got sucked. and it doesnt feel right to have a fusion in the heavy ammo slot gonna try the titan now :) PS: remember to use your supers to create orbs, then others create orbs for you so all supers charge faster. some players tend to hang onto them
-
I was fine with everything for the most part. My only real grievance is that the new class abilities charging faster than grenades seems a little weird. I particularly liked that you can flank enemies and they will still be shooting where you were before as long as you're not seen.
-
10 commentairesThere is supposed to be a story mission too I thought?
-
Definitely agree about supers. They're super slow.

Modifié par badbrain1 : 7/18/2017 7:58:28 PMThink of it this way. Your lv 20 at 200 light with preset weapons. Your geared to survive this encounter but you also dont have godly gear. This was the whole point why d2 is sepreate from d1. Once the actual game release youll still stuggle with this but later on when your gear is godly your time to kill is faster. Im going to see if the gear and weapon drops are better. For what i know this is beta and not final product so keep up with your feedback. We should see some changes in final release.

Weapons do seem weaker. The exotic didn't feel all that exotic. Running seemed much slower. Supers seemed to charge slow. I did think it was cool how other players were involved in part of the story mission. It did seem like Arcstrider had more control than Bladedancer. I'm hoping that maybe they learned something from D1. They showed so much in the beta that people were underwhelmed on launch day. Maybe this time it will be the opposite.

Modifié par techguardian : 7/18/2017 7:58:11 PMIs the beta at max character level with legendary gear? Is it possible that some of the recharge rates are gear dependent or level dependent? I know that when D1 starts, you don't really have a lot of STR/INT stats, so supers recharge slower than at higher levels with fully upgraded gear. That probably still shouldn't result in only 1 super per pvp match. EDIT: Watching a live stream and it looks like it is light level 200 with legendaries. Wonder if gear upgrades will still improve recharge.

I feel the same way
