First impression - this is a PvP beta. One strike is all PvE players get to try.
Weapons - weaker. Strike boss was a bullet sponge. Ads kept coming. No mechanics, just run around the confined areas and shoot stuff. Power ammo drops were infrequent at best. In the time it took to run the strike I saw maybe one power crate drop.
Supers - charge incredibly slow and they don't last long. I would say they are also weaker than D1 supers. In PvE it took a whole super's worth of dawnblade to bring down a yellowbar. In PvP it loaded just as the match was ending. What I see here is supers are tuned to give you one shot at it per PvP match, and they won't overpower a team. PvE gets what is left over after that adjustment.
I am not pleased with what I saw. It's pretty, but initially it feels less than D1. As I'm not a huge PvP fan I don't see a lot here to hold my interest nor does what I see quell my fears this game is indeed built from the ground up around PvP.
May be time to move on.
Edit 1:
Played some PvP tonight with my clan, a couple hours. Matches were mostly even, we won some, lost some, but it looks like it's not going to take long for the nerf cries to start. I'm not going to name the gun consistently dominating play, but one did quickly emerge.
I did my usual mediocre play. I went with Titan striker, and though shoulder charge will not kill a full-health enemy, if they are nicked it will come close. I have to get used to the roaming nature of the super. In spite of forgetting about it being a multiple hit deal, I managed to wipe a team capping B.
I think PvP players will adjust. I think those that stay will come to like it. But, as I said... I don't care for it. I ran a positive k/d, averaging 15 kills a match, but PvP in Destiny leaves me cold. That's just my opinion of course.

I don't like the weapon changes, feels like everything was changed due to cry babies for crucible, I'm a big fan of the PVE side of this game because their are already too many games out there based on pvp. So PVE feels broken to me, I felt like I was trying to kill Atheon with only primaries for the strike on the beta

1 commentaireModifié par crazychunkymonky : 7/19/2017 8:30:27 AMSad to say I don't like it. I played all 3 characters & subclasses, story, crucible & strike. The weapons are useless in pve, head shots do nothing to my opponents in pvp, strike is long winded & has no ammo, spent more time being revived than actually taking in the strike. Can't access friend list whilst your in an activity, that'll come in handy for any future raids. Constantly hit with connection issues as soon as I go into pvp & the new mode is rubbish. The new weapons set up isn't great either, can't tell which weapon I'm using if I have 2 x sub machine guns equipped. Then I randomly get kicked out completely & can't sign back in. The current state is beyond disappointing & not worth throwing the cash into, unfortunately it an expensive lesson learned, £90 for absolute shit!!! I'll be staying on destiny 1

Gernade launchers need a buff akso, they are too weak, one shot from a shot gun is doing more damage than a gernade to the face, that makes no sense
-
Mission was fun, but why are weapons so weak? Power ammo doesn't have nowhere near enough punch for the few pick ups that drops, making bosses tanks basically. Supers charge far too slow and give me concern for raid content. PvP is not well designed right now. Titan barriers take to long to bring down, only one super a match in control is not exciting and will quickly bring PvP to a boring state. Scouts in particualar are the weakest of all weapons and the TTK without a grenade or melee use is slightly too slow. At the very least these issues are numbers adjustments that can be changed and should be changed.

2 commentairesOddly, despite the complaints of slow movement speed, I feel that the gameplay is a bit faster paced. That said, there are definitely issues. I died several times trying to destroy the turbines in Homecoming because I wasn't fast enough to avoid the rotating generator. I am enjoying Striker as a roaming super though, shame it lasts so short. I like the new reloading animations and I think that the new sounds are great. I'm really enjoying the secondary auto-rifle I got at the start, but found Sweet Business to be a bit underwhelming.

2 commentairesThey should make it so as a base you get more super energy from Pve enemies. Power ammo needs a little tweaking so it drops a little more not an excessive amount. Gun damage in Pve should be upped a bit. With bosses that have all this amount of health it takes a while to drop them especially with snipers shotguns etc being in the power slot. And power weapons need a bigger increase in Pve. If targets take little damage to most power weapons how are they going to feel against rocket launchers

1 commentaireWe told you destiny 2 was gonna suck... 😂😂😂lol. At least they nerfed literally everything upfront.

3 commentairesIf Rihanna was to sing a song about Destiny the lyrics would be: The fanboys were wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong They were blinded by hype and got wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong Abilities and guns feel wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong And so on. I hate Rihanna.

I'll be able to play the beta tomorrow, but from what it sounds like super or leveling wise it'll be akin to how the Destiny Beta was and how long it took us to take out that Spider Tank?
-
Just to complete everyones thoughts about Destiny 2, a important thing related to PvP, Cronusmax/Titan One are still working, extremely efectively. Also, lagged people is the same pain as in Destiny 1. Just saying....

Modifié par oHELLSTRYKEo : 7/19/2017 2:16:21 AMMy opinion on this beta at the moment is I'm not impressed yet Bungie!! You really have not given enough to make me decide if I'm keeping or cancelling my pre order. The only thing that I liked about it was the graphics are much better now the old consoles have been officially left behind.
-
1 commentaireXbox beta starts tomorrow (if I even get D2 it'll be on Xbox). I just hope it's good enough to where I won't have to cancel.
Thankfully preordering in my case didn't cost me anything, biggest reason why I did it.
Thanks man nice to see ya around. I plan on writing a review once I'm able to sink some time into the public beta

1 commentaireModifié par SugarPlumPrince : 7/18/2017 11:20:32 PMStrike boss just a copy and paste of Atheon. LOL. Nice try bungie but you will have to work harder than that to get my 60 bucks. What a joke, beta comes out and they're recycling maps and bosses already, god damn they didn't even try to hide it rofl!

1 commentaireModifié par vdawg : 7/19/2017 1:41:15 AMPvp needs a tick rate increase. Call of Duty MWR had a low tick rate and they ended up releasing an update to increase tick rate by double because so many people complained about it. Which leads me to believe the D2 developers can do the same. we shouldn't be trading kills anymore or as often. I didn't see a connection bar for teammates or opponents either..

- When weighed against their effectiveness the cooldown time of grenades, melee and supers is waaaay too long. Either make the skills a little more powerful or shorten the cooldown. * The cooldown time for the subclass specials (like rift) is fine. - Heav... Power ammo doesn't drop often enough in pve. Also snipers and fusion rifles feel too weak to be power weapons, making the wait for power ammo (for those weapon types) even worse. * The power weapon system works well in pvp. No complaints. - This will be like talking to a wall, but the 2 primary/1 power weapon system feels slow and boring in pve. - Also bullet sponge strike boss and some enemies. Challenge is fine but it should come from smart a.i. and not from the time it takes to kill an enemy. * The new system works really well in pvp though. Why not have 2 separate weapons systems..? * The enhanced effects look nice. The first mission and some parts of the strike where "cinematic" and felt engaging. * The Countdown mode is fun. - Risk runner... seriously? Just bring back the Zhalo if you're gonna be unoriginal. #honest #feedback #fightme

Modifié par vmondude : 7/19/2017 11:59:11 AMWell I can't even finish the first mission yet as it always crashes at ikora. But what I CAN tell you so far is that it looks and sounds absolutely stunning, seriously beautiful graphics, but otherwise it's pretty much Destiny 1 gameplay in slow mo. I know I haven't even been able to play the strike or pvp yet, (appalling glitch btw even for a beta) but even the way it plays in the mission feels slow. Now I like the exotic hand cannon, that's nice but everything else felt like I was throwing wet sponges at the enemies and eventually they got so wet and heavy that they fell over! I mean if you are going to make snipers into heavy weapons shouldn't they be able to hurt the enemy?! Anyway... obviously I want to play past the sweeper bot of the tower to gather a better judgment. But it's not looking like its right yet so A LOT to correct Bungie. But fix the bloody never ending moose error first so I can actually get my pre-order early access or I'm complaining and claiming my money back 😉 The reason D1 vanilla grabbed us all so tightly was because it was so fast paced and exciting. D2 beta is missing the exhilaration that we all loved! Instead of slowing everything down and making everything less powerful why can't you just look at it from the other angle and adjust the way damage is TAKEN from each weapon in pvp. That way pve isn't effected. To kill Destiny's speed is to kill Destiny's roots, and the whole "plant" is just going to die, unless this is stopped.
-
Are there really ppl who can think of themselves playing this PvP "version" for the years to come? It is already boring after a few hours. Best is is the Supers spam 30 seconds bevor the match ends when everyone gets it.
-
Well said. Great feedback.
-
I'm sorry we're you expecting a whole planet to explore with patrols adventures lost sectors and public events?
-
I think things are fine. Looking back at D1's Beta, we got to do more, like visit a social space and do multiple story missions. But the "weak" guns and stuff was just like in D1's beta. There was no OP weapons on the beta. Handcannons were terrible back then. Took a long time to get Sepiks done at lvl 8. Etc. I think the game plays pretty good for the early beta. We simply don't have access to everything yet. And our level is low.
-
4v4 Matches are ok. Too short though and Supers take WAY too long to charge up.

Modifié par Kirmat1 : 7/19/2017 12:39:12 AMFor PVP experiencing a lot of lag, power ammo drops are very slow, fusion rifles are crazy strong at the moment loved the PVE however again power ammo drops are very infrequent and archstrider is practically useless.
