Disagree. Beause you'll still have underpowered primaries......people running into shotgun range from ridiculous distances..... ...and you'll be right back in this same spot once someone comes up with the NEXT build that allows them to exploit these UP primaries for a competitive edge. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again...and expecting a different outcome. If nearly 3 years worth of nerfs haven't fixed this special weapon spam problem.....the next set of nerfs aren't going to fix it either. Bungie just has to admit that this game is NEVER going to play like Halo (in any healthy sort of way) and allow the game's primaries to keep up with the speed of the game.

  • Buffing primaries only means you get killed faster when someone gets the drop on you. Now a high impact hc can kill you in two shots and one with litc. Instead of 3 and 2.

  • ...and why is that a problem if I lose situational awareness and allow them to do it. This isn't Call of Duty or Titanfall, where people are invisible unless they're firing their weapon. We all have radar....and can learn how to read it and use it. So if someone flanks you and gets the drop on you...its not an accident. You've been outmaneuvered...and they should have the advantage.

  • Live to fight another day would no longer apply then. Say you're in a gun fight and you win, but take some damage. Now someone else runs around the corner right behind the person you just killed and finishes you off because their primary takes you out with one shot before you have a chance to duck out of the way because primaries are now strong enough to do so. Where as before you could have taken one more shot but still managed to find cover in time. You weren't out maneuvered as it was luck that the person ran up right behind the person you just killed and had full health to your one shot.

  • No. Its not luck. You showed up on that person's radar, and they had the game sense to take advantage of the situation. Its no different than getting team shot. The first guy weakens you....then the next guy rotates up and finishes you off.

  • But you don't always die in that situation as sometimes people are able to escape before taking 2 more shots. But I can see you're not going to budge so let's go your route about buffing primaries. Since the clever dragon wasn't close to stopping the jug you'll need to buff that weapon? People already feel that it's the best primary out there. So make it powerful enough to stop a jug titan. What is that gun gonna do to a hunter or warlock that doesn't have a jug shield? Based on what we saw it would need to be a three burst to kill the titan. So it's not even a one burst to kill a hunter or warlock. It's now a one shot primary. And since that can't be the only weapon to counter a jug you'll have to do the same for scouts? Now imagine a one shot mida? One shot tlw? One burst grasp? A .5 doctrine? Yep there will be no reason to use special or any other class that can get one shot by a primary.

  • 1. The juggernaut situation is a unique case. Juggernaut is overpowered. Letting someone walk into the Crucible with an overshield that increases the durability by 50% is silly. I'm surprised that it hasn't been a problem before now. So Juggernaut needs to be nerfed. 2. What needs to happen after that, is that the game's primaries need to be buffed back to their Year One power levels. IN the Vanilla game, if a shotgun warrior tried to bum rush you from even AR distance....(about 40 yds) ....odd are he'd die before he made it into shotgun range. Because the games ARs could kill that quickly if you landed your head shots. So you could effectively stand your ground and fight off someone charging you with a short-range weapon. Thus making shotgun rushing a high-risk/high reward playstyle....instead of the low-risk/high reward style it is right now. 3. Nonsense. Spare me the "CoD TTK" stuff. This game simply moves too fast to support Halo-style TTK...and until we have primaries that can kill an typical Guardian (not on OP build like Jugg shotty) in a time that is REASONABLE relative to that speed of movement.... This game will ALWAYS have a special weapons "problem" Bungie has nerfed shotguns NINE times in the nearly 3 years this game has been available to thepublic. ...and yet shotguns are bigger "problem" today than they were on Day One. Why? Because primary weapons were nerfed even harder (and deliberately)....and yet the game has only gotten faster and faster. Enough. Insanity is doing the same things again and again...and expecting a differen outcome from the previous NINE TIMES.

  • So we are only talking about jug here and if you are calling for a nerf to jug, then something else will take its place. It wasn't a problem before because they were shoulder charging before. Not to mention the titan master race will start to cry about all the nerfs they get stuck with. In terms of balance of weapons I don't think it's as big of a problem as its no longer viable to counter the high agility movement we are seeing. Instead of having someone charge straight at you all they will do is jump/ blink or shade/ twilight to the side multiple times and kill you with the vanilla primary weapon, that now has a faster time to kill. In all of this the one consistent challenge is the movement of players (all clases). Slow the movement down to allow primaries to do their job.

  • To much all-or-nothing thinking. Things in this game are not that black-and-white. But take away the movement speed...and you destroy what this game is...and what makes it you unique.... ...in a terribly misguided effort to make it play like Halo. Once Bungie decided to: 1. attach PVP to a looter-shooter 2. Allow people to choose what weapons they took into the PVP 3. Allow them to choose when they would fight with which weapon 4. Allowed players to move fast and unpredictably..... ...and chance of this game playing like Halo died....and you'll strangle this game trying force into being something that its not...and never will be.

  • I've always felt that the uniqueness of weapons/ armor and subclasses is what makes this game what it is.
