Which year was the best?
Well then I have seen much crying about every weapon and every meta, let's see which one was/is the best according to community, remember to bump after voting so other people can see this too.

Year 3 is not Fast Paced People Camp with Clever Dragons and shotguns now. Year 1 was the best, everyone ran around. (Incoming Hate)

I'm not too sure on whether or not I first played in Year 1. On my account, I started in Year 2. But on my friends, I'm not sure. I first played Destiny on his account.

I think I like the year 2 meta the best, but year 1 crucible was more fun because of no SBMM, so idk which to vote. You should've specified whether you meant strictly the meta, or the experience as a whole.

Year 1 was aids, plain and simple. [spoiler]The best time PvP has ever seen was just before The Taken King launched, when Bungie gave us the balance patch a bit early. Then Hawksaw, Nirwen's, and other shit showed up and the game became freaking stale again in PvP. [/spoiler]

But the worst balance between/among primary weapons. ARs ruled Vanilla with an Iron Fist....then followed by the exotic hand cannons. Year Two had the best balance between primaries....but at the cost of them being nerfed into the ground for both PvP and PVE play. Which damaged the PVE play experience...and gave us the special weapon meta that we've been laboring under for the last year. First snipers being out of control on Year 2s larger, more open maps....and now shotguns rushers being similarly out of control now on Year 3s smaller maps. The answer is not to keep trying to nerf special weapons. The problem is that---in order to achieve the parity among primaries----the Sandbox team nerfed the effective of primaries severly, and raised the TTK significantly. Which is why, in several Clash matches last night, I was literally forced to run around and main my sidearm in an effort to combat all the shotguns, snipers, NLBs and other OHK weapons that were being spammed.
