I AM NOT FROM THE US!!!
Why do people have to explain everything to you in this place
So I've been playing Destiny with two other guys regularly, for a while now.
One of them I know from the 360 days, back in HoW and the other has been off and on for a while, but became a steady team mate this last spring.
I play with these guys daily. We chit chat about everything and nothing. We also live in kind of the same general area of the country.
Last night we finally met up and grabbed our first beer together. It was so strange to watch.
Here's this kid that just finished high school. Then there's this tall skinny dude in his mid 20's and a 32 year old man. Sitting in a bar, talking for 3 hours straight. Laughing and teasing each other about stuff from a video game. If anyone tried to eavesdrop they would not be able to make out what the -blam!- we were saying. So funny.
I had never met them before in real life, but like, as soon as we saw each other we just started yapping on and on. It wasn't like "Oh I've never seen this person in my life. This is awkward". No. It was like we were in party chat being business as usual.
A great evening and I think we bonded even more.
There, just wanted to share this with everyone :) Destiny is so much more than just another video game.

2 commentairesHmm, have thought about meeting up with the lads I normally party up with - we have played everything since Battlefield 3 / 4 / Hardline / Destiny. Not sure how it would go through - they are loose af and I would most likely end up arrested...

Anyways he texted me he was in town so me and a buddy cruised over there. It was a great night. My buddy who i lived with at the time was like "its like you guys have know eachother your whole life" haha its awesome games can bring new friends into your life.

Awesome. I had a similar experience with my raid group, they all live about 2 hours north of me. I went to a party they had last October. First time ever meeting them after playing almost daily for a year together.

Awesome!

My clan had a similar thing happen. One of the guys that we've been playing Destiny with for the last year started talking about flying to Houston and hanging out with us for vacation. We have about 10 members that live in the area. We all thought he was full of crap until he sent pics of his plane tickets. This crazy bastard flew to Texas from California to spend 11 days with a bunch of guys he played video games with. We're already planning the next trip out and might have a couple of members flying in from Florida as well. It's crazy how a video game can bring the most random people together.

Lol. I met another friend who lives in Texas, that was fun, I ended spending three days at his house. I like actually meeting my friends from Xbox LIVE.
I was stuck in a snowstorm and stranded at the airport, so I called him at he came to get me.
1 commentaireBoth my girlfriend and I play, and I happened to live in Miami where a buddy I've been playing Destiny and a few other games with for more than 2 years now was vacationing. We went and had Bahama Breeze with him and his girlfriend, and it was the most chill afternoon I've had in a good while. Was great how I could double date like that with a real world stranger and not skip a beat on things to talk about over some delicious island food and a few martinis. Great experience!

back on Xbox we were looking for three more for a vog run. ended up inviting three guys in our tower. we all hit it off and as we were finishing up, adding each other, I saw a guy was from a city just about a half an hour away. we became a close group of friends with roughly 7-8 of us total. eventually 6 of us ended up meeting and going to an amusement park together. it's a shame tho, after a really complicated issue and a console change we don't talk to each other anymore. was fun

I've thought multiple times of attempting this, just think it would be kinda weird trying to set up some kind of get together/reason to drive halfway a crossed the country to meet people I game with.

1 commentaireHa-ha I feel you. My buddy tobi, is a a 17 year old from Canada. When I was out there for work, I debated whether I wanted to hang out. The dude is a kid after. One day he messaged me and I was like "yeah I'm in Canada" and he got mad for not telling him. We met up for a burger and talked about naruto... Here is a 29 year old and a dude in his teens. And man I had fun. Met up with my friend Jason too. He is 25. Crazy thing about it is that, it felt like any other day we play. People ask "why do you play this game" Its because of the friends I play with. Makes the experience that much better.

My long time friends from psn friend groups all live in north america while i live in europe. When we shall meet, i have to be the one traveling across an ocean to see them. My destiny friend group however, do live in the same country as me, and they have been hanging out among themselves irl too. The reason why i havent met them yet is because they all live in the north of the country while i live around 350km south of them :/

1 commentaireModifié par Dukaness : 8/30/2016 12:35:26 PMThat's a cool story man. It always amazes me how quickly you develop such a strong bond with people over the headset. When I think of guys I've been gaming with for only 6 months, it feels like I know them better and have a stronger bond with them than people I've known for most of my life. I spend more time with them than my real life best friend, so I guess it makes sense, but it's still crazy. This is something non-gamers will never understand.

I would love to meet the people i play with irl. Bit of a problem there are about 20/30 of us who swap out and we have people from so many places. We have people from the us, canada, europe, austrailia, the uk. All of different ages aswell. So unless we all meet at some event its unlikely to say the least
