Seems like he only takes the "Strong" enemies and leaves the lowly ones alone. If that's the case though, why dafuq does he take the Psions then?

Kinda disagree. In the prelude for TTK, a knight said that all the strong ones are taken and the rest await extermination. Oryx refused saying he wants them all.

They are enslaved by the cabal to be pilots, hackers: ie dust palace, recon and the flayers are the highest ranking and strongest as they moved phobos out of mars orbit so they arent weak in the way cabal are. They are faster and smarter. I wouldnt mind an expansion about them
