this game needs matchmaking for everything because it's a pain to even get a game going , one has to waste countless hours with various forums spamming , discrimination based on gear/grimoire/light levels is strong in the community , not even speaking about people who kick others right before the rewards

ESPECIALLY AFTER THE HORRIBLE RECRUITMENT FORUM REDESIGN DOWNGRADE ITS EVEN HARDER TO FIND PARTIES THAN IT EVER WAS
SOLUTION: add matchmaking as a option
HOW? : simply add it into the game settings to turn matchmaking ON/OFF. if there is a pretty useless option to wear a helmet in the tower there , why isnt a matchmaking option available for those who need it ?
i had to add over 500 random people to my friendlist which i mostly met during the initial game where i added em only and never saw em again, for each person i added i had to spend between 5-30 minutes forums spamming and waiting , if i take a generous average of 10 minutes per player im at 83 wasted hours only to overcome bad game design in terms of matchmaking and thats a joke considering the game had a 500M $ budget

here's my experience with this current "brilliant" destiny matchmaking.
1.) start destiny
2.) decide to play something that doesnt have matchmaking
3.) look at my friendlist which has always about 100+ players online but i lost track who they are since i only added em for one game and they busy doing their own stuff
4.) go away from console to my laptop and spam forum threads , one post isnt enough because it gets lost after a minute in the depths of the thread
5.) go back to console to see if there are any friend requests
6.) if no friend requests , repeat steps 4 + 5
7.) if someone responds by just providing a nickname i have to write it down as its hard to memorize nicnames such as xxxSup3rPlayya5678xxx , the go back to enter it into my ps4 and send a friend request (often they already are in the game with another party by the time or not accepting my add because they already play)
8.) after 5-30 minutes depending on the luck i get enough friend requests , sometimes even more than is needed for the game , then i have to decide who to leave out which sucks for me as i hate doing that
9.) while playing with those random people i keep getting more firend requests for my old post from 30 minutes ago which i have to ignore , i hate doing that

Optional Matchmaking alternative:
1.) start destiny
2.) decide to play something , press matchmaking
3.) play with randoms

1 commentaireModifié par MrME4 : 6/3/2016 11:15:22 AMBiased poll is biased, and therefore irrelevant. Running strike playlists with randoms is often horrible. afk-ers, lone wolves who don't stick with their supposed fireteam, players who stay at the start to farm materials while you do all the work. You want that in a raid? You're nuts! There are loads of excellent clans out there. Go join one!!!

I think everything should have matchmaking, from daylies to raids. Optional matchmaking.
-
1 commentaireI didn't read the long ass wall of words but I agree with your title.
-
Nightfall yes but raids no just no. If they did get implemented I would have try it once, most likely fail then never touch it again. I'd say that all the people who do raids regularly would still use LFG while everyone else that would use matchmaking. I'd say 90% of the people who would use it would have either never done it before or never completed it.
-
Please, God, no. Why do people keep making threads that can be easily summarized as "hey Bungie please break your game". I LFG all the time. It takes like 30 seconds. I cannot imagine what you're doing that's taking hours, but you're just doing it wrong. Bungie won't break their goddamn game just because you're too clueless to either do it right or to understand how optional matchmaking would ruin Destiny. In-game LFG, however... that I could get behind. Matchmaking is just a horrible, childish, thoughtless idea that (fortunately) Bungie hasn't listened to, despite the number of mouth-breathers who seem to want it.
-
Optional matchmaking is good because you get to choose to have it on The problem that will arise is that the people who do choose it will be paired with Guardians of such poor skill they will prefer to go back to LFG ways, and the popularity of optional matchmaking will plummet. It will be a waste of time. I'd rather they had in game LFG. If you needhelp getting teams together try and find a clan. I found a friend on LFG for Trials six months ago. We still play together even now, on a regular basis, and we even raid together. It's not all bad.

Yep that it : )

4 commentairesModifié par Maulecule : 6/3/2016 5:27:41 AM
I just wrote a big ass long post then accidentally hit cancel... FML
No. Raids don't need optional matchmaking. Trials doesn't need it. Nighfalls and CoE, on the other hand, could use this. They take little to no communication to execute. So here is a quick list of why optional raid matchmaking is a bad idea. 1. Communication - you really trust matchmade randoms to communicate? I don't. Voice Chats often get ugly. 2. How do you boot that one asshole that is ruining the fun? Vote to kick? How do you implement this? 3. How do you know if someone has enough experience to do the raid? They probably won't tell you. You will STILL have to grab your PC or phone and search em up on DestinyTracker. 4. Trolls. They are inevitable in matchmaking. Matchmaking=more people=more trolling. I propose an alternate solution. In-game LFG. You list exactly what YOU want, exactly what you expect, and filter out any people you don't want. And you can still boot people quick and easy if they're not up-to-par or jerks or something. It's easy, it's accessible, and the tower is the perfect place for it. Think about it.

Modifié par Shelf : 6/3/2016 9:05:08 AMI mean, a billion people have said this, but it's still relevant. I wish Bungie would listen...l..

Please do this Bungie.

I agree with that totally. I love destiny and have put in so many hours but I don't really have the time or patience to be trawling through forums and apps to find a team for a raid or nightfall especially if someone quits or changes their mind leaving you to repeat the first step. I don't play it anymore but I really want to, what a stupid position for a video game to put a player into. If we move into year 3 with the new expansion without more matchmaking options I sadly won't be purchasing and I'm sure I'm not alone. Come on bungie, listen to the players.
-
Would use it for coe/nightfalls Would NEVER use it for raids. To many afkers, trolls and general idiots to ever make that work.
-
Hard to argue with OPTIONAL matchmaking. I've been suggesting this since right after VoG released. (More because of weeklies / nightfalls than VoG in honesty, but I started doing all that stuff about the same time). And I do agree the recruitment forum is now horrible. But I suspect it is just a stepping stone to being able to join a game directly from the app. It's so close (but probably technically quite difficult to do that last step), so on that basis I'm not totally against it. Honestly though, if they ever brought in optional matchmaking, I would NEVER use it for raids. I would for nightfall. Maybe for CoE (but given the points system the option for trolling of afk-ing would be too tempting for a lot of this player base). Anyway, as I say it's hard to argue against something optional. And I would use it occasionally. But frankly only for stuff I can solo so more players just reduces the time commitment. Some activities that I can easily solo I still might not use it (like CoE) just because I don't fancy carrying people through 3 whole runs to get 3-4 max light items. 18 3oC off the nightfall for 20 mins play is different for me.
-
Didn't read but I don't understand why Bungie doesn't at least do a trial run of matchmaking in a raid. Any raid. I mean the worst thing that could happen is that it doesn't work and they can simply remove it.
-
1 commentairei agree i hate have to find plp for coe

1 commentaireModifié par Star Gazer2 : 6/3/2016 5:25:46 AMFor $4.99, you too can be a part of Bungo's new matchmaking for raids! Warning, product may or may not actually include matchmaking for raids. edit: it's a joke, lighten up.
-
We do have it. It's called the forums and third parting websites.
-
I am only going to say that is why I do not add people to my friends list unless I play with them more then once or twice. Most of the people I play destiny with are friends with each other.
-
Modifié par Clay COCKWIDTH : 6/3/2016 5:04:33 AMI completely stopped doing raids and NF when TTK came out. I have to agree and can't see why others would be against this. If it's just something they don't want because they don't want a feature they personally don't use? Yea, that still doesn't make sense. Just being a prick for the hell of it, that's no way to act. Using a proper matchmaking system there would be an in-game kiosk or something like that and it would have parameters you could click. Filters. Even, hold on.........an option to vote to kick players!! Good god, where would they get the technology for such witchcraft?!?!! Yea, and one other thing: O P T I O N A L That's right, it would be optional. Read it again. Ok, still don't like it? Read it oooooooooonnnnnnnnne more time. Out loud. Now, we're cool. Keep in mind i have no "dog in this fight", so to speak. It doesn't effect me at all since i don't want to play kings fall. *Yes, people would bitch. But they bitch constantly right? Isn't that what almost all of us do on here? You could argue SOME of it is actually constructive criticism or ideas to make the game better but hell, it's still complaining. Like this very post i'm writing..........Destiny 2: Matchmaking Evolved , Release Q4 2017 Edit: 36 up votes, and the vast majority IN FAVOR of this. Read the comments and you'd think there is a screaming minority around here opposed to it. Funny thing huh?
-
2 commentairesNightfall needs optional matchmaking for sure. But not raids, challenge of elders, or trials.
-
Funny, I was just thinking how it would be nice to run solo strikes.
-
2 commentaires1) if someone sucks or they are afk Vote for kick It takes 5 people obviously to vote and has a 1 minute timer if not it's cancelled and has to start up again 2) It's optional plus see it as a training for the raid if the group miraculously makes it then it worked 3) Also make it to where the fireteam has to be in a mandatory party so they can communicate
