this game needs matchmaking for everything because it's a pain to even get a game going , one has to waste countless hours with various forums spamming , discrimination based on gear/grimoire/light levels is strong in the community , not even speaking about people who kick others right before the rewards

ESPECIALLY AFTER THE HORRIBLE RECRUITMENT FORUM REDESIGN DOWNGRADE ITS EVEN HARDER TO FIND PARTIES THAN IT EVER WAS
SOLUTION: add matchmaking as a option
HOW? : simply add it into the game settings to turn matchmaking ON/OFF. if there is a pretty useless option to wear a helmet in the tower there , why isnt a matchmaking option available for those who need it ?
i had to add over 500 random people to my friendlist which i mostly met during the initial game where i added em only and never saw em again, for each person i added i had to spend between 5-30 minutes forums spamming and waiting , if i take a generous average of 10 minutes per player im at 83 wasted hours only to overcome bad game design in terms of matchmaking and thats a joke considering the game had a 500M $ budget

here's my experience with this current "brilliant" destiny matchmaking.
1.) start destiny
2.) decide to play something that doesnt have matchmaking
3.) look at my friendlist which has always about 100+ players online but i lost track who they are since i only added em for one game and they busy doing their own stuff
4.) go away from console to my laptop and spam forum threads , one post isnt enough because it gets lost after a minute in the depths of the thread
5.) go back to console to see if there are any friend requests
6.) if no friend requests , repeat steps 4 + 5
7.) if someone responds by just providing a nickname i have to write it down as its hard to memorize nicnames such as xxxSup3rPlayya5678xxx , the go back to enter it into my ps4 and send a friend request (often they already are in the game with another party by the time or not accepting my add because they already play)
8.) after 5-30 minutes depending on the luck i get enough friend requests , sometimes even more than is needed for the game , then i have to decide who to leave out which sucks for me as i hate doing that
9.) while playing with those random people i keep getting more firend requests for my old post from 30 minutes ago which i have to ignore , i hate doing that

Optional Matchmaking alternative:
1.) start destiny
2.) decide to play something , press matchmaking
3.) play with randoms
English

Takes me no longer than 10 minutes to get a team together for any activity in the game. When it's newer content it's much faster than that. I literally delete dozens of friend requests after I post in recruitment. Some of you are just a bunch of drama queens. It's very easy and not time consuming at all to get into a fire team.

5 commentairesI don't mind it. Just be ready for the forum complaints about how people can never get a good group for raids and this and that and then blame it on bungie

1 commentaire"Optional Matchmaking alternative: 1.) start destiny 2.) decide to play something , press matchmaking 3.) play with randoms" 4.) struggle because 1/2 the team speak other languages than English and the other 1/2 leave because they don't play with kids/women/people without mics/low light level guardians/no ghorn/etc 5) get 1/2 way though the raid or what ever and someone leaves..then what matchmaking for people that want to do 1/2 a raid?!? good luck with that 6) get so frustrated you rage quit and go onto another game LFG isn't perfect but has so much filtering built in, simply because it is online, that is needed for end game content. Heck at the very least you know that they speak your language if you can read the lfg post.

4 commentairesThere's really no argument against matchmaking for endgame activities if it's completely optional. Think that the influx of randoms will ruin your Raid experience? Turn it off. Have a dedicated team that you feel much more comfortable with? Turn it off. Want to go for a quick run without having to carry people who have no idea how to Raid? Turn it off. It's as easy as that.

1 commentaireAs others have said, matchmaking for raids, even optional, would be a complete waste of time and money on Bungies part - adding a feature that no one would use more than once or twice? I'd rather they invested that time and money into building more sparrow racing maps personally. A matchmade raid would be an awful experience. That's pretty much guaranteed. A better idea that I've seen mentioned in other threads on the same topic would be for an ingame noticeboard, say a kiosk in the tower, where you could post your GT against a particular activity and teams already in said activity can see the posts on their roster screen and send invites directly - I'm all for that, since the fireteam leader still has the power to boot (and I've often been in teams where someone has had to leave midway through) That said, I've no problem with adding matchmaking to nightfalls now that they've been softened up so much.

Maybe not necessarily everything, but as long as I can at least get the option to turn it off when I want to go do the weeklies or the strikes.

24 commentairesModifié par Raider TCK : 6/3/2016 1:22:40 PMWhile it's a good idea in principle, here is the issue. Matchmade raids would be impossible. Less than 1/10th of the community has beaten any raid. So that's an average of 1 player out of every two teams that will know what to do. Raids have built in mechanics that cause wipes if ONE person doesn't know what to do. Especially kings fall. Don't get on your totem. Don't rotate when you are supposed to. Wipe. At warpriest if they stand on their plate in the wrong order, you can't activate the damage phase so the boss is impossible to kill. If they don't stand in the aura they can't hurt the boss and there is no in game instruction that tells you to do so. At golgoroth they won't know when the damage phase is. They could agro his gaze. On hard they could blow up the entire team. At daughters if they get torn it's a wipe. Etc etc. People in matchmaking do not communicate. They do not listen. And in matchmaking you have NO control of who joins you and have no power to kick them either. Teaching 1-2 people what to do to get through kings fall is difficult enough, time consuming and frustrating. Now imagine a matchmade raid where you would be lucky to get one person who knows what they are doing and communicates. The raids, if matchmade would have success rates of less than 1/100 and that's being incredibly generous. When skolas in year 1 was to gear dependant, bungie nerfed the encounter as so many people complained about it and the activity took far too long. Now imagine a sub 1% success rate on matchmade raids, and the forums are filled with the screaming 99%+ of players who say it's too hard, requires specific gear, too much communication etc. Bungie would be under enormous pressure from the community to nerf the raids and make them easier. The end result would be the raids would be made to be more causally accessible and not require communication or teamwork. And then we would just end up with strikes.

10 commentairesModifié par IScrub WreckerI : 6/3/2016 1:42:21 PMDestinylfg.net and Destinylfg.com If you were half as good as you thought you were, this topic wouldn't even exist. Let's also no forget that sub 300 light and trash bag gear you're wearing. There are alternatives to ranking your stuff outside the raid which by the looks of it, you haven't taken advantage of. You've scrubbed up the forums enough by bringing your scrubby guardians in here complaining about something you demand needs to be done... But you have massive work to do if you even wanna be viable in a raid. I'm gonna go ahead and pinpoint that sub 1.0 k/d and 4 KF completions and say the problem is YOU. Git gud.

13 commentairesWhat a shit lazy poll.
-
Or, you could go on Reddit to one of the destiny subreddits to find a team
-
8 commentairesThis would be one of those "awesome ideas"that everyone hates 2 days later and you see nothing but "-blam!- afkers in raids" "petition to add a boot feature to matchmaking" "fake raiders entering the playlist when they don't know what to do" "ban people without mics from raid matchmakimg".
-
1 commentairehow about a non buas poll? smth like matchmaking should not happen?

Modifié par Rebellis : 6/3/2016 12:05:15 PMYeah, but Bungie doesn't want a lot people playing Destiny. More people means more complaints about how bad it sucks. They just want you and maybe a couple of your closest friends playing and that's it. If you meet new friends playing Destiny, that's OK I guess cuz they're already playing it and know the truth.
-
3 commentairesGod I hate childish polls like this. Make real choices or don't make a poll at all. I can built an LFG team in minutes for any activity in this game. I still do Skolas- an activity that is far from popular- and it never takes longer than five minutes to get a group together. Same goes for the old raids.

I guess PlayStation has a gay thing of not being able to invite someone that's not a friend? I don't have a problem on Xbox. Plus you have a ps4 which means you probably have a smart phone. Install destiny app, use forums, get invite within seconds, play. Easy. At least on my Xbox it is.

3 commentairesJust keep Matchmaking out of Raids - it would be nothing but a toxic nightmare for any who used it ('optional' or otherwise) There are plenty of easy and viable ways to get a Fireteam together with just the tiniest bit of effort (Clans like Safe Gamers and Dads/Dames of Destiny, DestinyLFG etc), and one needs a TEAM to Raid, NOT a collection of utter randoms with no control, no parameters, no confirmation of comms/language/gear/anything etc. Beating your head against a wall in frustration is not, and should not, be the way to experience Raiding, certainly not for one's first time - it's liable to put people off for life! Raiding can be rough as it is with a poor group, even WITH all these parameters available in LFG sites (and anyone who has spent more than five minutes in a bad LFG group will know what I mean!) Spending time to implement a 'match made' version of the Raid(s) would be a waste of Bungie's resources, better utilised elsewhere.

1 commentaireNot raids and not trials(since you don't want a whole flawless team facing 3 310s) , but Coe and nightfall should.

13 commentairesModifié par Ice Lantern : 6/3/2016 8:44:01 PMedit: Since a lot of you have the attention span of a fruit fly, I will re-arrange my post. re: How does having the option hurt you? The reason a lot of us don't want to even have an option for matchmaking is because we know this community. You guy will go in, you guys will fail, and you guys will complain and complain to make the content easier. If Bungie listens, then raids are gonna suck from here on out. If Bungie doesn't listen, then the content is no more accessible than it was before and all Bungie did was waste their time. It's simply a lose-lose situation for Bungie and a potentially massive loss for players who actually care enough to go through the trouble of finding a group. A lot of people want the matchmaking but they never actually thought of how it would or should be done. 1) What happens if someone just AFKs? 2) What happens if someone is just really awful? 3) If vote-to-kick is an option, how angry are you gonna be when you get booted just before loot drops? 4) What if someone leaves? Who is gonna take his place? Are you gonna then demand that he be punished for leaving? 5) What if you get put into a raid in progress that already passed a boss you wanted to do? 6) Would you want an option to only get put in fresh raids? 7) Do you want to be in a group that never gets a replacement player because of said option? How about being in a group that does get replacement players but they keep leaving once they see where you are at? 8) What happens if you can't get bosses done with matchmade groups? Are you gonna complain to get the content made easier? Are you gonna just give up on matchmaking and thus have wasted Bungie's time implementing this when they could have used that time to do something else?

5 commentairesAll of you posting 'wouldn't work' bollocks need to get your head tested. Would break the game? Really? You do realise you wouldn't be FORCED into matchmaking right? Like we are forced into using this app. Or lfg.
-
Optional...that would always be okay with me. Unfortunately, "optional" has not been a Destiny option in the past. Once they decide on matchmaking, all of us are then forced into it.
-
1 commentaireThey don't do optional on purpose. It makes the game social, you meet loads of new people with mics otherwise nobody would use them. Because of that you probably have loads of mates on xbox or ps who play destiny. And because of that you keep playing. Not because it's a good game or fun, though you might think it is, you playing with friends, that's what's fun, and bungievi$ion are all over that.
-
1 commentaireI'd really want matchmaking too BUT THE PROBLEM is AFKers. We would also need to implement a Majority vote for Kick BUT then that becomes an issue if you join a party of 2 or 5 and they kick you out just before you complete the event to bring in one of their friends! Sorry no matchmaking with the majority of this 'shit' community!

3 commentairesThe cluster frak that is this week's court of oryx is more than enough evidence for me that matchmaking for raids is a definite no. Everything else sure.
