If you're smart and patient, you don't have to sacrifice light for looks. I have 2 319 characters and 1 320 without wearing a single piece of raid gear. I have gotten every bit of worth from all the armor I get. If you got a piece of gear that's way higher than the gear you're already wearing, wait until you get something in between.
