The original marketing campaign was that of an adult-friendly, dark story line starring people easily recognized by adults (Dinklage, Fillion, Torres, Lance Reddick). This was the campaign for years, from before the ESRB/PEGI rating up until the start of year 2. Now it's "Let's make a bunch of immature dick and fart jokes."
They sold the people a game that was supposed to be one way and have now made it into kid-friendly rubbish.
Bungie is probably going to have someone sneezing into their elbow and calling it a dance before there is a single foxtrot or waltz.
