K/D is fine as an indicator of skill until you hit the 2-2.5 area. After that it's hard to tell if someone's playing super passive, or they're actually good.

2 commentairesK/D is like the 40 yrd dash and vertical jump. It doesn't describe the entire athlete, but is a good measuring stick for potential and overall ability.

I think it just says what type of player you are. I tend to play more defensive and various spots with the best advantage using my pulse (Oversoul Edict in yr 1, still using Nirwen's now) because I can't snipe for shit, but I always go head to head with snipers. Due to my long range, I don't get killed as often as someone who charges and rarely go negative anymore. I ended up like this to combat shotguns and tlw in the first place, but now I can't imagine playing any other way.

K/d never counts for me. Sometimes I load in a match and my kids start acting up or crying and I drop the controller and deal with life. I get killed alot then come back but by then there is no saving the k/d

I have a 1.2 Kd and almost aways hit top of my team.... Idk if everyone else's Kd is bad or my game is getting better.

To some people k/d is super important, but I like to play Destiny for fun, I don't think people should focus so much on k/d they should focus on having a good time. If people just tried to have fun in destiny instead of getting so competitive I think Destiny would be a lot more fun for a lot of people. I don't think that that the competitive edge should be eliminated, that's not what I'm saying at all because that's what makes the game exciting! I just wish people wouldn't try to put others down because of stupid things like k/d!

3 commentairesK/D is [i]an[/i] indicator of skill, but not [i]the[/i] indicator of skill. To see someone's real PvP skill, you would have to look into their medals, weapons of choice, class/subclass, and experiences as well as their K/D.

This something people say when they are not skilled in an area they want to be skilled in. Soooo you won't get picked by LFG posters who have high KDs and increase your chances at a successful trials run. Meh! No one really gives shit. It's really not a big deal. Nothing in this game is. Also, your gamertag needs more Xs.

It does matter only in the sense that your performances affect your team, what concerns me is when people are hardcore about caring about it. Get a life, there are more important things to make a fuss about. It's usually people who need their k/d to make up for some real life shortcomings. JS~

If you have a bad K/D, im sorry, you are bad at PvP. There is no other excuse. No matter what gets nerfed or buffed, good players will be good, and bad players will be bad. Now that being said let me hear your BS excuses.

It's the people who overcome the BS that get high KDs, and the ones that can't go cry about it on the forums. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why KD is a good indicator to how well you perform its basically points-gained/points-lost. That said, it's a game. You don't have to be good at it, and being good at it doesn't effect you in the real world.

with the amount of LAG in the PvP. K/D is absolutely meaningless.. anyone that says otherwise are the ones that cause the lag so they can do well in PVP

KD is only important if it's important to you, if you know what I mean. My hunter which is my oldest character has a lifetime KD of 0.7 This was my first FPS game and I spent many months running around in crucible just giving other players something to shoot at. It was only when I ventured in IB sometime after HoW dropped I started to try a bit harder and finally get some positive games. Nowadays I do okay, but I'll never score consistently high enough to shift my lifetime KD upwards. Plus I've just been watching my daughter laugh through a handful of games on my hunter where she scored next to nothing and died a dozen times or more. It doesn't matter to me at all, but what I find is that any insight or opinions I have about crucible play that I have, especially for new players I keep to myself rather than comment as this community will trash anyone who doesn't impress them statistically. That's a bit of a shame as I could have done with some answers from players like myself all those months ago.
