Anyone else taking a long break / quitting Destiny?
I used to [b]hate[/b] on everyone who say they quit Destiny but now I'm starting to feel it. I recently realized that TTK is a bigger grind than ever. (Raid = double grind for loot and light level). Bungie is time gating exotics for obvious reasons. They pretty much rendered year 1 useless. If they won't do anything until Fallout 4 or Black Ops 3 come out, I'm sure they will see an alarming drop in players.
If [b]yes[/b], I want to know why.
For me, I'm taking a break but contemplating on quitting though.

To me not the grind is the problem - [b]problem is there is nothing to grind anymore[/b] - all higher light items drop from raid only ( I have no fireteam to do that and going to 3rd party websites and begging for invites just make me depressed) so to do what I was usually doing like playing countless strikes, doing nightfalls, grinding for coins, weekly crucible bounties, leveling up faction, ect.[b] there is no point anymore[/b]. I feel that I'm forced to quit destiny - all 3 characters 300+ and with no way to progress any further just to do raids which I can't do, it makes me feel sad :( . Just sitting in the tower and waiting for a new game to come out...

5 commentairesHard raid is a joke, keep getting normal drops or just shards, took hours to find a team last night as a lot of people are not playing destiny right now, weapon parts........, very limited strikes on heroic mode, people keep getting disconnected from game at vital times, weapons are not as good as year one, I'm sick of defending this game but last night really got to me, I class myself as a hardcore destiny player but I think I'm finally starting to lose interest, Fallout 4 and tomb raider is around the corner and for the first time I think destiny will be ejected from my console and put away which is a shame because I loved this game

Taking a break for an entire month.

We play to have fun and enjoy the game. If you do not feel motivated to play a game, then what's the point of playing it? I remember back when destiny first came out, someone posted a YouTube video of an engram farm on The Dark Beyond story mission. I remember being motivated to go home and grind the crap out of that mission, but now Destiny feels like a chore. Oh I have to do the raid. I have to do the nightfall. I have to do this and that in order to have the chance, I repeat [b]chance[/b] to increase my light level. I'm going to be taking a break from destiny to play black ops 3 and battlefront. I might get on to play trials and get a quick lighthouse run with my friends, but other than that, I feel less motivated to play destiny because the only reason I continue to play right now is because of the [b]chance[/b] of getting better gear. I love destiny. It's the one game that has lasted me with over a month of gameplay. Destiny is a game that will keep me playing for years, but for now I'm going to be taking a break. I'm not quitting the game though. I've had too many memories with the game to just delete everything.

See here in lies the problem anyone quitting or taking a break from this game isn't a casual they are hardcore players that grind and grind at this game so yes it's perfectly ok to take a break from this game go play something else I've done pretty much everything in year two I own an Xbox one and a ps4 I have halo 5 so I switch it up but now I don't grind as much and the game is still fun step away for a bit come back when the next dlc comes out you'll still want to play destiny trust me it's a great game but everyone saying they are quitting just take a break and you'll realize why you like this game so much when you come back

I got off right after and haven't been back on. Halo is my main for now but that games not half as interesting as destiny so I actually haven't been gaming as much. Hopefully one of these days when I log onto the forums Ill read about how the dev's reconsidered the crap drops and guns from the raid and Ill have something to grind for again. besides, what this guy said covers how I feel [b] pl0785[/b] 4h 41m ago Permalink I think another big aspect is that we have no guarantee that this DLC wont be rendered completely useless with the next expansion. Well i like TTK a lot and think its a pretty great expansion but its so much of a grind and i dont even have things like the no time to explain that a lot of people grind quests for. Its just a bit too much more work than play, and the last thing I need is more work. So I may come back to Destiny here and there when I can actually enjoy it, but once I get my hands on BO3 this friday Destiny is gonna be on the shelf for a good while. Also Fallout 4, Battlefront, and especially Just Cause 3 are gonna be a lot more fun than Destiny is right now and I can't wait for those games.

Haven't played in about a month and don't plan on returning to the grind fest that is Destiny. Especially once Fallout comes out.

I replied "no" but must say I'm feeling the tiresome grind a lot less appealing for each passing moment of my playtime. Pvp is really fun but that's about it. Also I'm considering replaying Mass Effect series to refresh my memory before Andromeda. Fallout 4 will offcourse be upon us soon

I'm also taking a well deserved break or i may just quit all together. This whole " micro transactions and paid content can co-exist " is bull. Over 70 million people spent 130 bucks on this game. You do the math. So we now have silver to fund crap like this halloween thing. How much money did it cost to throw some candles in the tower and make some masks? Where did the billions in revenue go? Oh and, please watch Angry joe on youtube. He sums it up perfectly. The Witcher 3 is one helluva game fyi.

3 commentairesI took a break for halo. I got really tired if the grind, trying to get that one 310+ weapon/armor just to get something you don't need or want. I'll be back when there's a new dlc, but I'll spend most of my time getting better at halo.

Its also my first Bungie game, and I'll say it blew me away when I killed the Heart of the Garden, smashed Times Conflux, Atheon. I was elated so to say. And then we got our expansions. "Who is Eris? What, or who is Crota"? I asked myself. And so I bought Dark-Below. I was contempt with what they gave with the content. Not spectacular, but it kept me going. Then we get HoW. "Finally! Something involving the Fallen, Eliksni! And the Queen... Sounds fun". And for the most it was. Trials was introduced, me and some mates dominate in it. Vault of Glass got old... Crota's End got old... Prison of Elders got old, fast might I add... Trials of Osiris got frustrating... And then we had the long wait for The Taken King. Oh the suspense. The "pre-grind" for parts, motes of lights, other items that would be transferred into TTK. Getting all three guardians ready. One hell of a grind... In the end it didn't really matter. The micro-transactions are nothing too concerning for me. They're just there. I don't have to buy'em, but I do. Wish I could have that Thriller dance... cursed last gen limitations. And that's the other reason... I need to upgrade. Now Destiny may be better, maybe only slightly on One, but If I want to continue, and I do I gotta upgrade. 360 just isn't cut out for what Destiny is. And the ambitions that should follow. But for me... I beat Oryx. Got The Touch of Malice. Played some Trials of Osiris year two, was disappointed cause well... going 6-0, your team has 4, they have 2. They're cheating, and lag a friend out. Score gets reset, my team is at 0, they're at 2. Through blind frustration we lost. Anyway I got other games to play for now, and Destiny is sorta... losing it's edge, even though it introduced swords. Which was nice... For like the second week of Taken King. In the end I guess you could say my break is because I'm just tired of playing guardian. Playing a game with no sense of progression. No real end point. And Bungie don't give me some sort of ambiguous answer like "The Darkness is a mighty foe that may take many forms". where have I heard that before?... [spoiler]"This castle is a creature of chaos.
