So I really like the idea of including secret missions into destiny in order to unlock cool gear however I'm not a fan of the special daily missions, mainly because I simply cannot play every day. My job requires me to go offshore onto oil rigs fairly frequently to perform inspections, this means I have periods where I have no access to my xbox. Previously, apart from the usual weekly loot, the only thing I missed out on whilst offshore was xur, I taught my girlfriend how to buy stuff from xur specifically to mitigate this problem in-case he sold something I needed.
However these secret daily missions are really frustrating for me as I am loosing out on cool content in the game with no real way of ever getting it again. You say in your weekly update that the first firewall mission will come back in time but exactly when?
Destiny is literally the only game I have played for the last year, I have invested so much time into this game (4000+ grimoire) and I hate feeling like having a job handicaps me in the game.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this concern.
My suggestion would be to allow these secret daily missions to be repayable through the regular menu's. Limit the exclusive loot to once per character, this would mean only people playing catch up would benefit from this.
Anyone who agrees please bump so that bungie may see this.
Thank you.
[EDIT] A suggestion from one of the guys below was to introduce these special missions as quests - to me this seems like a very simple and effective solution. The quests can be timelocked by bungie as the missions currently are, however this would allow people to complete them in there own time.
[EDIT] Taking from others ideas I reckon introducing it as a quest line 1 week or so later would keep everyone happy. All the "if you can't make it onto destiny every day then you don't deserve it" people would have the prestige in owning it first and the "casuals" would know for certain they will be able to complete the missions to in the future.

Keep it the way it is... You make it sound like the missions never come back, that you're forever doomed to miss out on them. That's simply just not the case. You'll do it, so what if your real life commitments preceded a video game? You're not exactly complaining that you can't do daily bounties everyday. You're just don't want to wait for the next opportunity to earn the items.

2 commentairesNo for that is how such events are meant to be, they are not meant to be fair and even for everyone all the time. Nor should they be either. And this is not the first game to ever have such things nor will it be the last and no amount of crying it is unfair will ever change that either.

Men...i really understand you..to me its the same

2 commentairesI heard that you could just do the heroic version of the mission instead.. Either way though, I don't really mind

5 commentairesIs there a reason you have to get everything in the game the very first time it is available? None of these are limited to" get it today or lose out forever". If you feel you need everything as soon as it is possible to get it, then you better change jobs so you can play everyday. Professional steamer seems to work well. ...no idea what it pays though. Or you can go to work and play the game in your off time, getting gear and such as you are able to do so. I don't see the problem.

I play on weekends only unless I have nothing to do at all to focus on school, so this would help
-
If you read the update. The quest team have admitted they got that bit wrong. It's actually rather freshing honesty from bungie
-
I agree it's a little ridiculous you HAVE to play that day or you miss out until who knows when

I can definitely see your point. And to some other comments, this actually applies to a great deal of people in the working world. Also anyone with spouses and or kids or the simple unknown occurrences that happen in all our lives and can't be ignored it's simply not always possible to jump on for a special mission that is only available that day. That said, I think the spontaneity is fun. But a work around could easily be added for those who didn't have the chance to run it. Maybe a quest line that has some sort of timed gating so that it couldn't be run right away but after a short period could be accessed (without a dependence on sheer random availability). Just a thought, but Bungie definitely does need to put some thought into this so as not to screw people out of the opportunity to earn these great rewards.

6 commentairesThat's the point of limited time events, not everyone will be able to attend them. What's the point of a special daily if you can do it whenever if you missed it the day it came out?
-
Totally agree with you. I like special missions. I don't like that they are timed.

Pretty good idea man.
