So I really like the idea of including secret missions into destiny in order to unlock cool gear however I'm not a fan of the special daily missions, mainly because I simply cannot play every day. My job requires me to go offshore onto oil rigs fairly frequently to perform inspections, this means I have periods where I have no access to my xbox. Previously, apart from the usual weekly loot, the only thing I missed out on whilst offshore was xur, I taught my girlfriend how to buy stuff from xur specifically to mitigate this problem in-case he sold something I needed.
However these secret daily missions are really frustrating for me as I am loosing out on cool content in the game with no real way of ever getting it again. You say in your weekly update that the first firewall mission will come back in time but exactly when?
Destiny is literally the only game I have played for the last year, I have invested so much time into this game (4000+ grimoire) and I hate feeling like having a job handicaps me in the game.
I'm sure I'm not the only one with this concern.
My suggestion would be to allow these secret daily missions to be repayable through the regular menu's. Limit the exclusive loot to once per character, this would mean only people playing catch up would benefit from this.
Anyone who agrees please bump so that bungie may see this.
Thank you.
[EDIT] A suggestion from one of the guys below was to introduce these special missions as quests - to me this seems like a very simple and effective solution. The quests can be timelocked by bungie as the missions currently are, however this would allow people to complete them in there own time.
[EDIT] Taking from others ideas I reckon introducing it as a quest line 1 week or so later would keep everyone happy. All the "if you can't make it onto destiny every day then you don't deserve it" people would have the prestige in owning it first and the "casuals" would know for certain they will be able to complete the missions to in the future.

Modifié par Iji The Killer : 10/9/2015 9:04:57 PMThat's the way it works. You have a job therefore you should not expect to keep up with the no lifes and kids who play all day. Those missions will pop again and you will just have to catch them. I work two jobs and I manage to keep up. I haven't played any games in two days but I have Black Spindle and Sleeper Simulant it can be done.
-
i think you should add #bungie. but, you are right.
-
Oh man thanks so much for putting words to my frustration! I have been just so stressed by this exact issue lately lol Well earned bump!
-
I think they should have daily's not go away if you don't won't it to so you can catch up but you will only get the rewards one.
-
I totally agree.
-
I like it the way it is simply because it makes the daily missions more exciting now. But yeah that sucks for you dude, I wonder if they could have a timed access thing. Where once you start a mission you can only play it for the next 24 hours or less but the timer only starts when you first try the mission and the timer would reset next time that mission comes up again?
-
In complete agreement.
-
Bungie definitely needs to come up with a solution for the players who can't play everyday. Hopefully this gets solved soon bro!
-
This "no child left behind" mentality is what ruined our society
-
I know how you feel, but nothing can be done. The game requires time, making it harder for people with more commitments to keep up
-
Totally agree. Even though I don't have that problem. I can say I think it's pretty unfair for people with busy schedules
-
Sadly thanks to the stupid elitist, they'll probably make exotic quests more complicated, meaning you might have less chances to get them.

8 commentairesSorry about the negativity in these forums bro. The people getting mad at u have a strange outlook on life. We're talking about a videogame, why do people act like this?

1 commentaireI like the quest idea. I don't see where that confers any favor on us filthy Kasuals. We still have to do the work to earn the reward. Like a lot of us, I have a family and work full time, (IT Director in healthcare...) and cannot (will not?) play every night. Sometimes (GASP!) I play Grid Autosport, or even Skyrim instead. Sometimes, I even do things like help my kids with their homework or practicing their instruments (one Baritone, one Trombone), just read with my wife and our stupid cat. I am a casual, philandering, unfaithful slob of an excuse for a gamer. I don't have to play D. I do have to WANT to play it, and delivering a game I WANT to play is Bungie's problem to address. Oh, and apologies in advance to anyone who gets stuck on strikes with me tonight. I like to go slow and kill EVERYTHING!.

1 commentaireThe game shouldn't have such a priority in your life.
-
What if there was a busy box you could check and just get all the rewards in your mailbox the next day?
-
I'm only allowed to play video games on weekends due to an uneeded rule from my mom that I can't play any video game on weekdays. It sucks, honestly.
-
Instead of time-locking these 'secret missions' or your suggestion I think it would be more appropriate to have a weekly mission in addition to the dailies. First, it would allow for 280 - 300 light missions to become more common. Second, it allows players the weekend to attempt to get these rare items. Third, each week doesn't need to have some sort of hidden puzzle. Fourth, it can be a new way to earn 'nightfall' tier rewards.
-
Honestly. Spend your free time on a different game..

Modifié par Taggin T : 10/9/2015 7:25:12 PMCan you force it? Someone who has already completed that mission can invite you to their fireteam. They fly you in. Boom. You have the mission and can start the SS quest line.... Sounds legit on paper. Don't know if this actually would work, but it's worth a shot.
-
I would also benefit from this. I don't work off shore but I do work 14 hour days and have an odd play schedule that is split by the daily reset. I usually run out of time to finish these things just looking for a good team to run them.
-
The same here: I can only play on the weekends, because I'm the job the rest of the days, and it's really frustrant to not have the chance to get the special quest's rewards. I'm quite dissapointed. Greetings.

4 commentairesAnyone who didn't vote for the catch up system is a cvnt. If you have what the -blam!- ever it is there's no reasonable or logical justification to prevent others from also having it.
-
Maybe you get to do it before reset to do each heroic without the legendary marks?
-
Set it to the hardest difficulty normally...acts exactly the same
-
Bro, I feel for you, however, there is no way Bungie is going to work their schedule around yours. Either you get lucky and have the ability to play that day or you just have to move on. Maybe Destiny isn't the game for someone with your occupation because it is very time consuming and the grind is real.
