So like, I'm just being a titan. Just strolling along my merry way in some crucible. And I come across a Warlock in the wild. Well, I don't wanna die so I jump over him because I see his shotty.
And then it happened...
He bunny hopped into his super to try and Landfall me due to his shiny new exotic gloves. And you know what? It killed me despite me being sky high above him.
So, mind explaining this to me? How is it that Landfall kills people above the Warlock? I'm a bit confused as to how this works since it's name and description offer zero indication that it should affect anyone above the Warlock.
Edit: Omg I didn't think I'd have to spell it out for you guys but I suppose I should have seen this coming. You all (or at least a vast majority of you all) have missed the entire point of this post. I am NOT upset about dying to Landfall. I am NOT upset about Warlocks or Stormtrance or anything of the sort. I am simply confused as to why a perk titled "Landfall" that is described as "On casting Stormtrance, fire a bolt of lightning into the ground, creating a devastating shockwave under you" is able to kill things above as well. It's even in the name, Landfall. It's not like the perk was titled something to give any sort of hint of affecting the area above you such as "Skyrise" (crappy name I know, deal with it).
Edit 2: To those trying to argue with the shallow response of "Tell me why FoH kills me when I'm 30 meters above it then" the answer is in its description. "Smash the ground and dissolve nearby enemies in a maelstrom of Arc Light". For those who don't know what a maelstrom is it is a powerful whirlpool with a strong downdraft that pulls nearby things into it. Going off of that it's not that you are dying to its aoe or even a shockwave above, it's that FoH is literally sucking you into its center and killing you that way. Of course, that would probably be a bitch for them to have added in the needed effects for that so they just shorthanded it and opted for killing anything in range immediately.
Edit 2a: Not to mention, if you could survive FoH by jumping it would only be further solidified as the worst super in the game. And it already is so let's not try to make it any worse.
Edit 3: In case you somehow missed the point of this post (despite Edit 1) I'm going to reiterate. I am not upset about the Warlock, nor Stormtrance, nor Landfall. I have only died that one time to Landfall and 1 whole death is not going to warrant a complaint post. This is a simple question that requires a simple answer. One that I have found now thanks to users shobr0 and one other unnamed person (sorry, your post seems to have drowned in the sea of trolls) who have explained that in the lore it states that Warlocks are unable to channel the lightning themselves but rather, that they can call upon it at anytime and get charged by mother nature to then use as needed. So, that explains it, my question is answered and this post can go ahead and die now. Still, kinda dumb that something that should (probably) be for cool points actually kills but whatever, that's Bungie for you. Always out to show how much more loved Warlocks are than the other classes.

1 commentaireThe reason landfall kills people above is because…
WARLOCKS ARE THE MASTER CLASS
-
7 commentairesThe lightening came from the sky to hit the ground. You were in the way.
-
6 commentairesWhen using landfall warlocks get a mini fist of havoc and then are able to glide round the map with their auto aim super and it's the Titans that need to be fixed
-
The same argument is used by Titans using fist of havoc killing those far above you instead of those around you, while even being able to kill those a floor above them. The impossible machines are a conductor - consider the gauntlets as readied, but not amplified. They are amplified when a bolt is first cast from the sky, through you, then below the warlock. The warlock is then the conductor. Anything above, or below, would be an obstruction, thus, you'd be fried. The same perk is justified by having poor proximity and you must be pretty close to the top of the enemies head; activate your super too high and it'll do nothing.
-
I'm assuming there is a range around the warlock and on the way to the ground where at a certain radius the lightning bolt emitted from landfall will kill you. That or the bolt comes from the sky first:)
-
1 commentaireAnd how about when I'm 13 feet up in the air and someone fist of havocs me and it kills me
-
Lightning, might be lightning. Not exactly sure.
-
Sorry dude but it's to be expected since the FoH does the same thing. It's part of the reason I was psyched to see the locks get that ability.
-
It's called landfall because it summons a Bolt of Lightning that creates a shock wave on the area around it. So the lightning must have hit you in the air.
-
It could be the part where lightning comes out from the sky and that might have killed you but that is just my speculation

1 commentaireGet rekt asshole

You know what it does, just ignore the description.
-
1 commentaireI'm not entirely sure, I just use it to be a douchebag.
-
21 commentairesWell, it strikes the ground with lightning right? Where does the lightning come from?
Above them, dumbass
-
1 commentaireexplain how the titan's striker super does the same?
-
Strikers did that for a whole year.
-
Lightning comes from the sky which is typically above you. Common sense friend
-
Landfall summons a bolt of lightning. You were in the way of the lightning. Simple.
-
Insta-Karma. I now relish in the fact I can counter your actually "ground" smash that kills me 20 feet out and 20 feet up. Bull!! Haha nice!

1 commentaireModifié par Tremolo : 10/1/2015 9:42:10 PMYou do realize that Landfall is a miniature Fist of Havoc right? It's essentially a lightning bolt striking the ground.
You got struck by lightning. Lightning hurts. Get rekt fgt.
Now you know how the rest of us feel when you Titans pop your panic super and kill us when we're 30 feet above you.
-
1 commentaireYou wonder how a bolt of lightning slamming into the ground from the sky and suppercharging a warlock killed you? I want to know how I get killed by fist of panic mid air. That's just how the game works. Stop crying.

I honestly don't know. Though this might be better addressed if directed towards Bungie.
-
2 commentairesTitan stiker super does that too. Explain that to me.
-
IT literally calls down a lightning strike.

5 commentairesGod it's like these just don't stop. Crucible is the bane of this games existence. It's got to be where 75-80% of the complaints come from.
