Defeating Ecthar is BS!! Doors won't open.
So I lowered the 3 Knights health to near dead, and then rapidly killed all 3 with my sword just like the guy on YouTube and the doors won't open. Help??

All wrong / right. But I just did it by killing them last after killing everything else with my run of the mill primary (the wounded, scout rifle) and THEN shooting them still with my primary to low health and finishing them off QUICK with my Special weapon in this case 77 wizard. So "quick" is the trick!

Quests like this are the exact reason I stopped playing destiny haveing a mechanic for no reason that is just annoying

Found this as I couldn't open the door... I know it's old but if you are like me, you're just bow getting to this... not sure what is right or wrong but what worked for me was lowering their health and then killing them with a sword only.

Buy truth or the crucible rocket. I rocketed them and it opened.

1 commentaireI just downvoted every single "kill all three with one super" reply because each and every one of them is wrong. You just have to kill them fast. No specific method is required. I sniped the void one with my Stillpiercer, killed the arc one with my Arc Edge and used a Golden Gun /w Nighthawk to kill the solar one. Worked perfectly.

We did it with a fireteam of 3 and killed each one with there burn door opened no problem

I tethered two nights and killed them with my sword, and killed the last one quick.

The video I watched said kill all three with one super. Worked for me.

I lowered health and used my sunbreaker. It has to be roughly in the time of a super.

You can kill them with whatever you want. I used Invective and mowed them all down. As long as you kill them within 30 seconds of each other. No supers required.

Odd for me a fireteam of 3 split up and took one knight each to low health and killed them at once No single super No just with your sword Idk lots of different things I'm hearing but this worked for me

1 commentaireFor any of you dopes who think you need to kill all three with your super, watch this video. 35 seconds to 52 seconds is pertinent. Not my video. As you can see he uses a shotgun on one, sword on another and super on the last.

Me and a team mate did by running past adds, each going up side, super our guy, then gang super the third musketeer. Worked fine
