Since the last update I have been getting more and more pissed off. Now you NEED the taken king to do ANYTHING. I cant afford the taken king and I enjoy playing destiny, but since the last update I can buy anything because its either lvl 40 or it requires legendary marks That really pisses me off.

Just wanting to say that you had 4 months to save up the cash a dollar a day would be more than enough
-
It's $40 if you can't spare that much money, you've got bigger problems than not having TTK
-
I bought mgs for 35£ 2 weeks ago in tesco. Ttk is currently 47£ Asda.
-
Wasn't ttk presented last sept? Sounds like you need financing classes

Gaming is an expensive hobby, especially subscription-based games, or games with pseudo-subscription models (like Destiny). These expansions help keep their servers alive, because that shit isn't cheap. If Destiny had no online component, you probably wouldn't see this "problem" at all.
-
Get a job simple -_-
-
Tough get over it.. either save up the money and get TTK or quit.. for they are not going to do anything about it.
-
They didn't overlook year one players, they moved on & the game went into year two.
-
It's just a fact of the model they used for the game. Think MMO but replace subscription with DLC. Kinda stinks but at least you can still do some of the pvp and old pve content.
-
OP I get your frustration. I think it was incredibly shady what Bungie/Activision reduced the year 1 game down too when TTK released. Only offering a lvl20 strike playlist and not letting you openly choose which PvP game mode you want play was a filthy tactic IMO. They are essentially forcing.insisting you buy TTK in order to really enjoy Destiny anymore. I think most of the anger stems from the restrictions to non-dlc players in year 1 and the changes to this in year 2, in year 1 only owning base game still did not restrict from nightfalls, heroics, or IB. You could still hit max level (although slower) and do strikes/story missions when they were on vanilla. Year 2 obviously this is no longer possible, which why there is anger. HOWEVER........ Bungie have redeemed themselves massively with TTK, so far its been a great expansion and they honestly have executed it well, trust me it was actually worth the £40 ($62) and I've barely scratched the surface of it. Judging by the amount of playtime you have OP, I would bet money you would love TTK. But without TTK, Destiny is a dead game for you there is very little point in playing it until you get TTK. Wait a little longer if you are not convinced, watch some videos, read review, etc then choose where your money goes.
-
You don't need gear or year two marks, if you don't buy TTK. Gear progression now means not needing to buy anything to run year one content.
-
All the level 40 stuff is for the new content. If you're still playing old shit, you don't need the new shit
-
How many hours have you played the game thus far OP ?
-
If you do my homework and clean my dorm and go to class for me ill give you 40$

6 commentairesThe answer to these posts always seem to be "get a job", "pay the subscription", "you don't get stuff you are not entitled to". Completely missing the point. I know you aren't asking for free access to TTK and I know there are people in a financial position that makes spending $40 on some "luxury" very tricky indeed. These others don't seem to get the fact that you paid for a game over a year ago and by degrees the functionality you had is being removed until there's virtually nothing left to do/play in that same game you got a year ago. Destiny was not sold to the initial players on the basis of "subscription game - if you don't keep paying the subscription you will lose access to some/all parts of the game you have bought" I wonder why people are so blinkered and cannot see this?
-
That's how MMOs work. Welcome to this type of game!

12 commentairesIt's fine if you can't afford it at the moment but complaining about it won't get you any closer to actually getting what you want. Right now I'm taking a quick break from an essay I'm doing. I would like to go to collage, possibly graduate school and then have a career in sports broadcasting maybe. Do you think if I don't work in school that I will still graduate, get to collage, and then get a good career I want? No. So why do you think by just complaining about not having money something will happen. You need to get out there and either work to get some money or at the very least stop complaining if you aren't going to do anything to make some money.
btw I'm 16 a junior in high school and am trying to ask a girl I like to homecoming. I know this isn't the place to be asking but I want some other people's ideas on how I can ask her to homecoming. Last few years I just bought the flowers and asked but I really like this girl and want to do something different. Yes I know it's very offtopic but I thought about now lol.
5 commentairesSo you're saying WoW is overlooking people who can't afford a monthly subscription. Same goes for all other subscription based games. The only thing is, Destiny can be purchased by mowing two to three lawns. Quit your bitching, get a job. If you already have one, spend your money in a more responsible manner. There's no way $40 shouldn't be affordable.

1 commentaireI have a trench that needs to be dug. Gladly pay $15 hr for an honest day of work. That's $120 for 8 hours. Let me know if your in Washington state in snohomish county.

You sound surprised
-
Why the -blam!- would they let you do that shit when THAT'S WHAT THE EXPANSION IS. Why do people think they're entitled to stuff in the ttk even if they didn't buy it?
-
They pulled an Xbox lol
-
Agreed, don't listen to the idiots. They are here in force.
-
Pretty sure if you can afford a 400 dollar system and a 60 dollar game....then you can afford a 40 dollar expansion! Lol
-
Everyone knew it was coming....All you had to do was save a few bucks a week and you would have been good to go....I never pay full price on the day I just pay it off in the months before
