Last year on the 6th of November I lost my mother suddenly. She had a heart attack and her brain began to fail from lack of oxygen, she was resuscitated but the damage had been done. The doctors gave us the grim news and she was taken off of life support after three days.
I've never been so devastated. I'm a 35 year old man and a cried my eyes out like a child. Feeling lost, confused and angry as -blam!- I had no idea where to turn. So I picked up a copy of this game. When I was younger I used to disappear in video games, they always helped ease my mind and helped me calm down whenever shit was crazy for me. Cheesy as it may sound Destiny was like a big old comfortable blanket for me. I immersed myself, it helped me. It brought me some joy, it took my mind off of the world and put me into another one. This game was my counselor and crutch in very hard time for me, and it did is job well.
Don't know why, but I felt compelled to tell that short story, and just wanted to take time to thank bungie and the destiny community. You both are awesome. Once again, rest in peace moma, I love you forever and always. I'm ready for year 2.
I guess an edit is in order, first thing first, I really did lose my mother. Her name is Fernanda Beth " Campos " Melloy she has an obituary.
Second, im not looking for attention or for a gun that nobody has.
Third I wasn't expecting so many responses I just wanted to say thank you to bungie and the community.
And last but not least, thank you all for the kind words. You all have my respect. ]

Ya, lost my brother 10 months ago. My friends in my clan were a great group, helped so much. Sorry for your loss

Dude I know how you feel. I lost both my Grand parents in the space of 6 months last year. My Pa took me down to the mall one last time (1 month before he got really unwell) and said I can buy anything I wanted. I didn't want to take his money so I said why don't you choose something, so he bought me destiny. I live this game and will always remember him through this game. Thank you Bungie

If this is true, condolences friend. I'm glad you found something to carry you through the pain. If this is fake, not cool to mess with people's compassion.

Modifié par WELSHA08 : 9/8/2015 4:13:50 PMSorry for your loss pal, that's a horrible thing for anyone to go through. Glad this game had such a positive impact on you and helped you get through the dark days. Great post. P.S. If you ever need another guy for your fireteam, look me up on Xbox live and we'll wreck.

3 commentairesSpeaking from experience losing your parents is possibly the worst thing a person can go through, its good that you found something to ease your pain stay strong guardian and know your mom will always be with you.

...you know... Maybe this is coming from the wrong place, but if I "honored" my deceased mother on a gaming forum... She'd haunt the shit out of me.
-
I know exactly how you feel the past 4 years have been terrible I've had many family members pass away that it's hard to think and destiny seems to be what keeps me from breaking down I think that's why I've invested so much time in this game.(over 2000 hrs) No other game is like this one and I would like to thank bungie for making a great game.

Real life guardian down. I can't imagine losing my mom, but I suppose that's the way life is. Rip to your mom and I urge everyone to give ya moms a call and tell them you love them.

2 commentairesWhy are you posting this? You know most here will troll you or accuse you of seeking attention or sympathy. People that drown themselves in alcohol when grieving don't write love letters to Anheuser-Busch.

Modifié par HalfY : 9/8/2015 3:49:29 PMSorry to hear buddy, I lost my dad to cancer when I was 22. Gaming also helped me deal with the grievance, my game at the time it was counterstrike source, the game had an amazing community. Nothing like a proportion of this community judging by the comments on this post, gonna make it easier to not feel like I'm missing out on TTK.

My condolences Guardian. I just lost my mother as well Aug 9th to lung cancer. Keep your light shinning in your mom's honor!
-
I know that feel man. Just last year I lost my uncle, brother, sister and cousin twice removed to cancer. Their favourite thing to do was to drink tea, and to commemorate their passing I've been teabagging everyone I've come across in crucible.
-
My condolences, it's great to hear that you are coping in a positive way.
-
I'm so so sorry man. If you ever need someone talk to, you can always come to me
-
My heart goes out to you guardian. -pbc
-
My condolences, but do you really think you should be honoring your mom on the Destiny Forums?
-
My condolences op Currently going through the same thing. We just have to keep going. :(

- Sorry about your mom (if true) - this belongs in off-topic.

14 commentairesI knew I felt something suspicious about this post. OP seems to be looking for sympathy and maybe even from Bungie specifically. He has not personally made many post of his own and not once about his mother dying until now. Majority of his comments on other posts are just jokes that show no sign of grief about a dead parent. When he isn't making jokes, he' usually just liking comments made by others.(Some that are also jokes.) Also, let me point out that OP claims he is 35, even though the jokes that he did make seemed to be very childish. So, based on his past, this seems to be a bullshit post made in the attempt to get likes and comments. But, hey. That's just me. I doubt everyone until proof is given for me not to.
