Last year on the 6th of November I lost my mother suddenly. She had a heart attack and her brain began to fail from lack of oxygen, she was resuscitated but the damage had been done. The doctors gave us the grim news and she was taken off of life support after three days.
I've never been so devastated. I'm a 35 year old man and a cried my eyes out like a child. Feeling lost, confused and angry as -blam!- I had no idea where to turn. So I picked up a copy of this game. When I was younger I used to disappear in video games, they always helped ease my mind and helped me calm down whenever shit was crazy for me. Cheesy as it may sound Destiny was like a big old comfortable blanket for me. I immersed myself, it helped me. It brought me some joy, it took my mind off of the world and put me into another one. This game was my counselor and crutch in very hard time for me, and it did is job well.
Don't know why, but I felt compelled to tell that short story, and just wanted to take time to thank bungie and the destiny community. You both are awesome. Once again, rest in peace moma, I love you forever and always. I'm ready for year 2.
I guess an edit is in order, first thing first, I really did lose my mother. Her name is Fernanda Beth " Campos " Melloy she has an obituary.
Second, im not looking for attention or for a gun that nobody has.
Third I wasn't expecting so many responses I just wanted to say thank you to bungie and the community.
And last but not least, thank you all for the kind words. You all have my respect. ]

1 commentaireMy deepest sympathies for your loss brother. I lost my Dad just over a decade ago. That hit me hard although we were hardly close. I regret not making more effort to get along with him when I had the chance. In comparison I get on much better with my Mum. We have our differences but she's incredibly supportive & understanding. She's 75 now & not in the best of health. I realise that sooner or later I will lose her too & I can't begin to get my head around what that will do to me. For now I'm just doing my best to make the best use of the time we have & never take it for granted.

Modifié par thevoiceover : 9/9/2015 7:28:50 AMSorry brother, my mother passed before she hit 60 but outlived her parents by sometime. I also found losing her one of the hardest things I have ever gone through and she passed on valentines, so that days not the same. Over 5 years now, I'm struggling with some major health issues but still only get upset most that none of my kids will never get to know their grandmother, the woman that gave me life and raised me.. I look forward to my boy growing up with Destiny, he is still too young to get the controls, but in a few years he maybe spanking me. Well - I am sorry for your loss, but yes lets live and help teach our community now that loved ones can be gone in a blink , always live to love..

To that joker joker guy from an earlier post. I could go on here and say how my grandfather was a WW2 Vet and my great uncles , my step dad and my uncle was in the Vietnam war . All people are different . Maybe you just don't have no heart or give a dam about anything or anyone in general .

Robble , totally understand . Lost my mother last year also . Was in a daze . Didn't wanna do nothing , talk to friends , family, . That joker guy doesn't understand what death does to you . He's probably one of those people that doesn't have any remorse what so ever . This game helped a lot . Didn't wanna just sit in a room and cry my eyes out go crazy .
