All around the forums I see
"oooh look at me, I just paid off my TTK preorder! Cheer me on yesss"
Good job, you are part of the collective action which makes games worse for the rest of us.
By pre-ordering, you're giving a company more and more money without even playing anything. You basically are putting down $40, telling Bungie, "I don't care what I get", and letting them know you have faith in whatever they release.
Every company is a company, and let's be honest Destiny is a 6/10 game. Bungie is the type of company to abuse your faith in them, make a 6/10 experience for your preorder because at the end of the day it's more profitable to cut content and production costs on a game they've already secured millions of pre-orders on. They don't need to care about how good a DLC is if they've already enough money off pre-orders and day one buys. In fact, it's more profitable to simply release some low quality 6/10 disgrace for $40 as long as there's enough idiots (and this forum is FILLED with em') to pledge money before they even play anything.
Just my 2 cents why you people shouldn't be happy about pre-ordering. When you realize how you own a 6/10 game which had several areas of the game cut out pre-release and some areas you're playin right now had been created by E3 June 2013 then you'll truly see how they abuse your faith in pre-orders and that's why you're actually willing to pay $40 on a single raid, a couple strikes, around 5-10 story missions and a new armor of weapons which many of you already see as backpedaling your hard work. There are more quality of life changes coming to the game, which I agree with and welcome that change... Although most things, even as simple as a quest tab... Should've already been there imho.
Although.. One last note. And this will separate who actually reads the thread. If you read the topic maybe put xoxo at the end of your topic. If you enjoy Destiny, then go ahead and pre-order, hope your faith also invests well and you enjoy the upcoming also. I can't say if you enjoy Destiny then you shouldn't pre-order it, because I guess you should.

I completely agree, if you don't like destiny you shouldn't spend more money on it. Are there people that do that? Is this a public service for people lacking common sense? If you don't like Oreos you should probably buy a different cookie.
-
I totally agree with you, I rarely preorder. I waited until a couple of days ago to buy TTK. I've immensely enjoyed Destiny despite the flaws and knew I'd keep playing it so I preordered to get the bonuses. The only other games I've preordered are proven series like The Witcher.
-
I've enjoyed my time with destiny and bungie for years. I have faith in their product.
-
some of us preorder so we actually get the item in question otherwise we won't get it beacuse of low store stock etc.... and also you didnt take the bonuses some preorders come with which might be worth it to some.
-
I agree 100% with you. The more they get in pre orders, the less they care about the quality. Because if you blindly put your faith in a company product beforehand, they become relaxed and know they have your money. Since all companies care about/ need money it gives them assurance of customer satisfaction when you pre order. Xoxo :)
-
Anyone with any sense knows preordering is bad. Ur relying on faith, instead of facts to determine the value of a game. They show a bunch of trailers and get some hype, and u buy a game while sitting there praying and hoping it will be as good as the ads claimed. xo

Modifié par My Grandmaa : 8/31/2015 4:42:06 AMI didn't preorder DLC. I did however preorder destiny the game, and the day before the first DLC I bought the expansion pass. Essentially pre-ordering TDB. I think you have some valid points, but there's no way to start a movement to stop pre-ordering. Sometimes I pre-order because I have bills, and I'll preorder something on a paycheck where i have more to spend, because let's be honest I'm gonna buy it eventually, I'd rather it not be on impulse and suffer for it. xoxo

I enjoy this game. It is easily one of the best game I have ever played (not the best, that goes to Xenoblade Chronicles). I have invested 800 hours into this game, so I'm gonna spend my money on something I plan on playing for a while. Bungie is a AAA company. They know this is their last straw, and of they -blam!- it up, many people will quit. That's my two cents. Everyone has am opinion. Some may be right. Some may be wrong. It's your unique opinion that makes you you. Xoxo

I've been a gamer for over 20 years and understand we do sometimes get screwed over. Destiny a 6/10? I give it a 4/10, however, I enjoy this game more than almost any other currently out. I have a huge clan to play with and all my real life friends play it. I don't have the faith I did with old Bungie, but 40$ for some more good times is good to me. I remember the old days, and I miss, them when a game was fully fleshed out out of the box, but I will pay if it keeps me coming back. xoxo
-
Well this 6/10 is very enjoyable to some people including me. I don't really have any other game to play as of yet besides fallout 4 which is hopefully good and doesn't follow the trend of let downs

Modifié par wakdestoyer : 8/31/2015 4:31:38 AMMy philosophy is if I know I will enjoy and play a game/DLC a lot than I will gladly preorder. Me and my friends all have fun with Destiny every time we play and we don't see ourselves getting bored of it anytime soon. xoxo Edit: We even branch out to more games like GTA, Rocket League, and we even had fun in the BO3 beta

People should wait a bit longer to pre-order. Good idea I've seen suggested was wait until only a week or less to pre-order. That way Bungie can't rely on large pre-order numbers for money because they aren't there, but you'll still get your expansion day 1. Problem is we need a very large number of people to change their ways before Bungie and other companies will stop abusing pre-orders :/

Is it MY thread you're referring to? Yes, I preordered TTK and I'm glad I did. I didn't preorder Destiny, I bought it in the store on Day 1. I wish I had preodered. I missed out on some bonus content, like a PvP map that I've never played on and some cosmetic items that I've never seen. But the game I got was a solid 8/10 in my opinion, and it only got better when the DLCs were added. I haven't regretted a minute. I'm confident that TTK will be even better- confident enough to put down a $25 deposit when they announced the Collector's Edition. OF COURSE some areas of the game were created in 2013. Game design is not a fast process. It's not a matter of typing in the command "let game= cool" and pressing ENTER. And no matter how many times you try to prove it, I don't believe in the "cut content", so don't waste your time. Destiny is a solid game. TTK is going to be better. If it's not, I will have learned my lesson and won't be buying the next game in the series... just like what happened with Call Of Duty. But that's not what I expect.

Modifié par Portagaz D Natsu : 8/31/2015 4:19:35 AMYou forgot that half the idiots are loyal to Bungie, they couldn't care if the game only had 1 mission, for $60.00, with a 1/10, as long as it says Bungie, they will pre order, buy the DLC, buy the shirts, and cry every time the see a video of Deej.
-
Everything is subjective, for you Destiny is a 6/10 game, for me it is a 9/10 game. I also dont subscribe to the whole cut content argument as I have never seen one singe ounce of evidence to support it, and no I dont consider youtube streamers, concept art or placeholders to be evidence., I have no problem preordering a game that I love so I can pick it up day of release and play it with mates. You are entitled to you opinion of course and I respect it, I just dont agree with it.
-
While I agree with your view there's no point to try and change the mind of desticles.
-
Destiny is favorite game. Halo was my favorite series when Bungie made it. I'm happy to support Bungie for whatever they make because I've thoroughly enjoyed their games. xoxo

Pre-ordering is a way showing confidence in the product. By your logic all of Kickstarter is a waste of time. There is risk in pre paying for something but there is also reward. In some cases certain projects wouldn't have been a considered for production. Sometimes Pre-ordering helps prove to a publisher that the developer isn't BSing them about their project. Which could allow for more development resources which help with additional content.
-
I CAN GET WHAT I WANT SCREW YOU xoxo *wink*
-
There also the other shoe! You give more money on pre order etc and in return get more than if not. Even if not in this game but others in the future due to its success

1 commentaireModifié par Tomato Gravy : 8/31/2015 3:31:24 AMYou fail with your first point. Even if it's a physical disc you have to buy at the store at release.....you still have to buy it before you can play it. And in this case they have shown the raid....discussed in detail a lot of what is included....we pretty much know what we are preordering. Xoxo

Modifié par mentalyentil : 8/31/2015 3:45:21 AMThey lost their main story writer months before launch date and had to toss a lot of the what was supposed to be the storyline. I personally think they did a decent job at still hitting their deadline and making a really fun game at that. I don't think anyone would've been happy in the least bit had they delayed launch a year to be able to do what they're going to do with this next installment. So I give a kudos to Bungie and absolutely will support what they're doing. I've never once played a game with the level of interaction with the developers that we get, not to mention actually seeing some of those changes implemented. One last thing - what do you care if I preorder it? You can make your choice and others can make theirs. It's incredibly arrogant of you to assume that because someone who is invested in a game and is super hyped about whatever is released to the point where they want to make damn sure they're playing it the second it launches is "ruining" the gaming industry. Wow. Just wow. Get of your high horse. Xoxo
i r8 8/8
