So can we agree HoW was just a cash grab?
Seems kind of obvious this dlc was just a quick way to get extra dough for future cash grabs....
Just look at everything that people liked that bungie arent even going to continue to use in ttk!

PoE (technically it will be there but whos gonna waste their time?)
Basically the dlc itself is rendered pointless cause nothing from it will or can be used again.
So seems like i said was right! At the beginning when all the hamsters were hyping up HoW saying "what more do you want they gave you your old legendary guns and armor like you cried for fgt!"
I said they just added that crap to make a poor dlc look bigger but nooooo you didnt want to believe thats why they did it.... And now here we are....morons

Things from HoW that were great and going to be in year 2. 1:the Reef 2: Trials of Osiris 3: PoE(maybe) 4: Exotics (odds are some of them will be in year 2, hoping for the awesome Ram or Lord of Wolves) 5: Ships, Shaders, Emblems Tbh, legendaries were left behind from Vanilla to The Dark Below and VoG was also less relevant. The content was still worth it. Games can't redo old content and make new content every dlc

HoW was more experimentation than a cash grab. We're still relatively early in destinys development, so it makes sense for them to want to test out new and interesting ideas. Sure, a lot of them just aren't cut for the long run (I do think reforging was a mistake) but you can't blame Bungie for wanting to try new things.

Before that, I was fine with the core game and didn't see any reason to shell out for content that didn't seem needed for how I play (infrequently and just tooling around in PVE), And please, before anyone jumps on the "OMG, a Bungie guy who plays like a filthiest of casuals and who didn't get all of the content?" The ninja badge is just a forum thing. I don't work for Bungie, I just have duties on this site. When it comes to Bungie and their games, I am just a customer and someone who's been playing Bungie games since the mid 90's. My views on their games and how I play them are not "coming from Bungie" but coming from some old dude who's been gaming for a long long time (maybe too long). Anyway. I see the points that a lot of people have about either DLC package. But I guess that my personal take is somewhat different. For me, they gave me a better understanding of the framework of this game and how new areas, new storyline, new characters, new content, and new aspects to the game can be "bolted on" to the existing core game. I found the concept to be intriguing. Maybe it's because I compare this game (and play this game) very much to H3: ODST. A core game of PVE patrolling with story elements that branch off of the main framework. When I see Destiny and compare it to ODST, I see a lot of similarities and expansion on that concept. ODST almost BEGGED for more storyline and missions. Destiny is setup to have that ability and to allow all sorts of attachable content over a very long period of time. So for me, while the details of the content, the missions, bounties, gear, and so on were.... interesting, I was more curious and impressed with the methods of adding new planets, additional story, and other gameplay. Well, that's just the 2 cents of this player.

I didn't mind PoE so much. Wasn't a ton of fun, but it had its moments. My biggest problem was that it has zero place in the game from a practical or lore based point of view. I mean, the bosses have to be let out for you to fight them. And why is there a giant loot room in the prison basement?

3 commentairesHoW was not a cash grab but it did fail in a couple of areas that Bungie now needs to fix. First the rewards for PoE were not on the same level as ToO. While Skolas has a"chance" to drop an elemental primary it does not happen often and those weapons were still not comparable to the trials counterparts. ToO was set up to favor the top 1 or 2 percent of PvP players by giving fantastic rewards to guardians who could go flawless. All that accomplished was to make the really top shelf players better and encourage cheating from players unable to compete otherwise. I know my skill level is not good enough to compete and even friends that have taken me in that have been flawless can't get me past level 4. I do not presume to speak for anyone else but I know I paid the same amount of money and should have the same access ( providing I can complete the task) as any other player. That is simply not the case with ToO. Now we have a select few guardians running around destroying the masses with their adept weapons and Bungie will have to "re level" the playing field. The answer is to take away all of out legendary weapons and start us back at square one. HoW was a fun Dlc but I don't see to much of its content carrying forward in the game.

To some degree, i did feel that way. My cousin and i were really excited to get it when it released only to beat it in a matter of hours. Destiny was starting to get bland though so either way it kept me occupied until TTK where hopefully we get something fresh. I didn't mind spending some cash at HoW, it served it's purpose in my book.

MGSV ground zeroes MGSV having PvP require in game currency (which you can easily buy day one with REAL money) Micro transactions Cod AW loot drops Now what we have here is a DLC that while it fails in some areas is not a cash grab. By your post you make it out to be that destiny up until year 10 will be a cash grab as I can assure you that the gear in the take King and destiny 2 will not be as good as the gear by year 10, the point is that while the stuff is left behind its not making the DLC a cash grab. They could've easily added micro transactions into this game where you buy exotics for real money or legendary engrams for real money but they didn't. You're calling a DLC with fun story missions (although still needing improvement), a new horde mode arena, new weapons, a new social area and a competitive PvP mode a cash grab.

TDB wash a cash grab, HoW actually brought enjoyment back to the game.

Lord of Wolves has to be one of the best PVE shotguns in the game. The exotics don't suck.

And thanks to Infusion you'll still be able to get any piece of gear to the max, it's just required you do endgame to get that gear to that cap (be it King's Fall or the PvP equivalent (probably Trials upgrade). I liked it better then TDB. The story mission were better, POE had end game content that casuals like me could enjoy. The bounties are way better and more rewarding. Trials of Osiris is super competitive multiplayer that I have no chance at, but it keeps me dreaming. The only redeeming qualities of TDB are the Raid, which is a joke compared to Vault of Glass, also some weapons are awesome like Black Hammer and Longbow Synthesis to name a few. But if TTK turns out as awesome as it seems, then we year 1 players have to accept that we were basically part of a huge Beta test that allowed Bungie to figure out what worked and what we wanted, and I'm fine with that because I had fun along the way and I'm excited for the future... guys I really feel that Destiny is going to become one of the best gaming experiences of all time.
