I think the Playstation exclusives are wrong.
Here's my thesis:
Exclusives within a video game (that do not exist as DLC) aren't okay. If everyone pays the same amount of money for a video game, everyone should get the same video game.
Provide me with a good counter argument as to why my argument and opinion aren't as good as yours.
Rule: This is all about opinions. Opinions, fundamentally, cannot be wrong.
So, imagine Walmart pays for an exclusive product. I want that product, but I regularly shop at Target. I can drive down to Walmart and buy that exclusive product.
However, say I play Playstation. I see that the Witcher 3 exclusive stuff is only on Xbox One. I want that stuff. I can't drive down to Xbox One and grab it. I have to pay 500 dollars so I can buy exclusive stuff. It doesn't make me want to switch, it makes me bitter at the gaming industries for thinking that this is okay and a good marketing strategy.
Nintendo does it all the time, and it nearly bit them in the butt. If, say Halo, is only on one console, 50% of gamers are going to have access to play it (let's skip PC here). It's going to be able to reach only 50% of a potential audience.
Did Playstation players pay more than Xbox players? No? Then, why should they be entitled to more stuff? This seems almost like internet age segregation, with one group of people being treated with priority over another, who have an equal right to priority. It almost seems... illegal, and immoral at the very least.
The only winners with exclusivity are the corporations. The developers don't win, and the gamers don't win.
This is my Ultimate Metaphor:
Say you play an RPG. Four classes: Ranger, Mage, Knight, Spoony Bard. You chose Mage. (Mage and Ranger equal Microsoft). You run a long side quest, like the Gauldr amulet in Skyrim. You get to the end and you get an awesome... sword, which only Paladin's and Bards (both Sony) can use. That sword is the exclusive content. You have it (Xbox editions have the content disclocked. That is a fact), but you can't use it. You could have used it, if, hundreds of hours ago you made a different choice, but you can't make that choice now. So, you'd be angry about that. Now imagine your time was money. You spent the same amount of money/time as Paladins and Bards, and you didn't get anything. You'd be mad in the game, and you'd call it robbery in real life.
That's what the exclusives are. A sword for paladins.

5 commentairesWith this theory, the entire Halo series is "immoral". Along with God of War, Forza, Uncharted, etc........
some shit is exclusive

get over it
14 commentairesWow what a stupid post. Its fair because sony cares more about its customers. Sony PAID for the exclusives you idiot.
-
It's called business in a Capitalistic society. Its not immoral, because you, nor MS opted to pay for the same content, or their own exclusive content. PS users had no control over this either. Sure, it seems unfair to those who didn't benefit from this, but there's nothing immoral or scandalous about it. Tis life, and something people here should come to grips with sooner rather than later.

17 commentairesHere is my take. Do you get mad at a restaurant when the guy next to you has more food even though you paid for less? Sony paid more, Microsoft didn't. Its a bummer (I'm an xbox guy too), but far from immoral. Just businesses.

Modifié par Hangz : 7/27/2015 4:51:41 PMSony paid out of their pocket so we don't have to pay for that extra stuff. Let's put it this way. Sony paid for all of us PlayStation users to get exclusive stuff. Microsoft wouldn't do the same so go bitch as Microsoft. Therefore, we PlayStation users paid more including the money Sony paid for US PLAYSTATION USERS. We didn't pay extra out of pocket but Sony paid for us.
-
You can drive down to Walmart and get a ps4 otherwise just accept that the exclusives aren't included in the price, they are extras paid for by sony in advance they are just free extras
-
I wonder if Bungie went to Sony/Micro about having exclusive content up for grabs or if Sony/Micro told Bungie they would buy some if available.
-
Just grow up they paid for it.
-
OP doesn't understand the definition of immoral.
-
Would it have been better if the entire game Playstation exclusive?
-
Then I could say I'm glad the redbull is exclusive to US and Canada.
-
Because we can get playstation exclusives from xylar ;)
-
Pick up ammo like the rest of us, you rocket spamming dreg

2 commentairesWell, if you entirely want exclusive free content, the only platform that exist on is PVC. You know why? Because for the most part, they have no competitors. Now consoles in comparison, they are basically the same to each other, what separates and gives one console an appeal to actually attract buyers. It's all a world of business. There's nothing really different apart from the OS of consoles and their exclusives. If you truly want a exclusive free market for consoles, it'll never happen.

Got over it or get a ps4

Sucks to suck

Simple answer: Microsoft started the initial salvo with "Microsoft exclusive" and not based on technology restrictions and/or lack of console experience and familiarity. CoD is really the first title that gave gamers "exclusives for a set console". I feel it's more painful for destiny because it is bungie and the timed exclusives are far and away longer than any other time. But that's the problem really: when Microsoft first the first shot with CoD/Activision its not like Sony forgot nor failed to remember the vile they got for not " doing more". In a sense I can't be upset when someone does something to you that you did to them first. Likewise if they did it in a way that hurt more, lesson learned. Don't have to agree but I can't blame Sony for wanting to get heat and vitrol for something they did vs something they ignored. More so that CoD forums also had a lot of anger towards Sony for not throwing more money at Activision for competing more with Xbox.

Consumer buys playstation 4, some of THIS money, and sonys money, is used to fund destiny. Destiny now has a bigger budget, but has to give exclusives to get that. So the extra money in exchangr for the exclusives is funded by sony's sales, not destiny's sales.
-
Well considering PlayStation bought the rights it's theirs to do what they want with....you have the same chance as anyone to have em but you chose the wrong system....yes YOU chose the wrong system
-
We didnt pay for Monte Carlo, Hawkmoon or Forth Horseman, Sony did...

5 commentairesModifié par Broken Messiah : 7/27/2015 4:12:00 PMFirst of all, I'm mainly an Xbox player and hate the exclusive deal. That said: We (the consumers) didn't pay for the content, Sony did. A better example would be watching a TV show. When you watch a show on TV, (let's use Hannibal as an example) you have to sit through commercials, and the content may be edited. Sometimes entire episodes are cut! You didn't pay NBC to watch it, the advertisers paid them. Later, you can buy the Bluray and watch with no commercials and uncut content because you paid for it. In other news, I'm pretty pissed about Hannibal getting cancelled...

You post and reasoning are flawed, first and foremost opinions absolutely CAN be wrong, most incorrect opinions however come from a lack of information or knowledge, some however people hold for some unexplained sentiment. Destiny related examples.....1) crota can not be completed without gally. That is an opinion that is wrong, most likely due to lack of information. 2.)I am better than the guy who had twice my score in the last game of crucible I played, but I'm Def better cuz I used a purple scout and he used Morality: corporations do not have any use for morality, they will do whatever they are legally allowed to do to maximize their profits, the sooner you learn this the better off you will be. Whether it's "moral" or not for digital guns to be available sooner for some but not others, again, opinions can be wrong Also, couple things about console exclusive games themselves, they actually make perfect sense. No business in the world would freely give their best products to the competition, maybe that would be better for the customer, but not for the business. You brought up nintendo as your example. They have survived almost solely on their console exclusives being the biggest and best games on thier systems for 3 generations, this example does not hold up. Nintendo also has almost no competition in the handheld market, but according to your opinion, they should just let Sony make Mario and Zelda and pokemon games on the vita or whatever they call their next failed handheld, that would be much more moral and fair for all those people that have a Sony handheld Tl/dr The world isn't a fair or morale place, grow up

Tl,Dr it's just a damn game

10 commentairesI payed just as much for my Playstation 4 as any Xbox owner did, why don't I get Halo?
-
I think everyone is overlooking the fact that Microsoft gave a huge "F You" to Bungie a few years ago with the whole Halo ordeal. Bungie could very well still be upset at Microsoft, but they respect their players enough to put destiny on both consoles. However, by giving the cooler stuff to PS users, it entices people to switch and to stop giving money to Microsoft.
I am an Xbox loyalist, but MS did wrong by Bungie
Immoral? Lol
