Stuck at Skolas for 12 (originally 7) hours AMA (Update: Killed him!!)
Seriously.
Edit: 9 hours. taking a break. picking up soon.
Trying to reply to you all but i am on mobile and also dealing with not getting disconnected right now!
Edit: Almost 11 hours. not done. this game is killing me.
Edit: After more than 12 hours, I give up.
I admit, I have been broken. This is not fun anymore. My team sucks and the second mine phase gets us all the time. I resign.
12 hours of trying hard and nothing to show for it... It annoys me. I am really frustrated and annoyed right now. 12 hours. Nothing. Nothing.
Edit: Thank you for all your kind words and strat tips! Also thank you to all angry people because you make me smile every time! I guess I will try again tomorrow. It wasn't so much the strat rather than our execution that was lacking.
guess I will look for two mentors tomorrow though. its 2:24 am where I live now so i gotta get some sleep. thanks guardians. hope is not dead yet. i guess. :)
Edit: people say it does not show up in my recent list. yeah it doesn't. why? is it because i went to orbit? i got skolas' card for killing him but not the triumph because we wiped on mines.
anyway i am not telling lies and if you don't believe me i honestly dont care much.
i have no time to get attention through petty lies. i could write a funny story instead.

Edit: We finally did it! This time it took only two and a half hours total!! So happy!! Thanks to my team and everybody who gave good advice!! Now I can rest hahahaha

I think it took us like 45 mins last time we killed him. Maybe u need to go over the strategy with your fireteam, open up better communication, and keep moving.

It took me and my fireteam about three hours and a substitution to kill him on void burn. My guess is it's even harder to kill.

Should be easier if you carefully damage skolas, check this http://i.imgur.com/9svPOSW.jpg You need to wait for heavy synth for each health step. You can clear all the adds if not further damage skolas. For mines, just let 1 hunter go the left during you damage skolas to 50% and 25% marks. We normally can kill skolas before 2nd mines started.

The easiest way is to just kill adds, when enemies spawn just don't pay attention to skolas and make sure they are all dead before you start damaging him again. It takes a while but it makes it so much easier

5 commentairesModifié par GimmeYourLooty : 7/19/2015 12:32:40 PMDon't give up, communication is key vs skolas, I've never had gally and my friend just got his from this weeks nightfall, it's not even needed with good team work. Start by running left into the arena, and up onto the balcony, call out every captain that spawns, every single one, take out the 2 captains that spawn on that side, skolas will be in front of you and in that time it takes for him to get to you, burn him from the balcony and try to break the bonds before you rotate to the other side where there's a ledge, don't be afraid to rotate if things get too hectic, once his bonds break don't panic and whoever gets marked literally call out the numbers as they tick down, keep doing the strategy I said about but remember to listen to whoever has the mark, and whoever is suppose to take it next needs to be extremely safe in that time because obviously one of you have immunity. When the mines spawn don't panic, if you don't have a hunter with invis, spread out BUT the one with immunity should go to the mine that's the farthest away from your teammates. Keep cool while you swap the mark and dismantle the closest mine, then your teammate will have the farthest, and then all of you converge to the middle mine and swap with the last teammate at the last mine. Then continue to rotate like I said above, burn skolas until 25% where he spawns his last mines, do the same strategy I said for the mines. And then finish him off. That's how my team does it every week. No gally. Hope you get it done! You can do it. Edit: I'm on mobile so excuse my typos, also make sure you are using shotguns, found verdict is my go to for 2 shoting elite captains.

1 commentaireThat first skolas kill can be hard. I would be considering dropping the rest of your fireteam and bringing in 2 new people with experience. Trying to do it with new people is obviously not working. I'm guessing either you are getting stuck at mines or people are having a hard time taking care of ads and rotating around the map properly. Don't rush it, don't burn skolas too fast. Take it slow until after 1st wave of mines. Clear mines, clear adds, damage skolas till next ads, clear ads, synth up to full heavy then burn skolas to death and then clear the last mines. Everyone has to stay alive. If you are having trouble as a hunter, try and get 2 Titans in the group to help you. Easiest skolas clears for me have been with 3 Titans in the group. Doing it with 2-3 hunters is very difficult, not impossible but hunters are not great for this encounter.

Feel ur pain bro. One time I was stuck at Skolas 9 hrs. I was thinking about starting a group on bungie.net called "stuck for 9 hrs at Skolas" ;) Well I still am considering it, and using it as my clan name.
