How hard was VoG originally?
I came at Christmas, and didn't raid until about three weeks ago as a 34. When Vault and Crota first came out, how difficult would you rate on a scale of 1-10, 1 being getting the Khvostov, and 10 being not quitting Destiny after getting No Land Beyond, shards, and coins from every nightfall for 3 months.

Let's just say that the first time I did it, it took 5 hours. Now that I'm level 34, it takes about an hour or two

5 commentairesIt was torture. It took me a little over 3 months to get the full set to finally hit level 30. And ofcourse, the night I got the last piece, TDB was released and Tower gear brought me to level 30, anyway. #somad

Just horrendous drop rates..I got lucky though. Got the game 20 days before the dark below dropped, and got my 30 on day 19 lol. Truly rng.

It was ok when you were level 29, not to hard, just took more time, and we still had all the glitches back then ;)

3 commentairesJust finding your way through VoG was difficult at first lol. And killing Atheon with 28s and 29s meant all 6 people had to bring their A game for real (unless you pushed him off). God forbid no one knew what to do with the relic. Because of how hard VoG was, when TDB released people flew through it for the most part. Beating VoG with 29s is 10x harder than 35 PoE with 3 34s

I played VOG the 2nd week it was out. It took that long to get a fire team together. We were all level 25 and it was real tough. 10 straight hours the first night another 5 hrs the next week and finally another 5 hrs to finish it off. But this was when we were all working it out. Was one of the best weekends of gaming I have ever had. After that we had it down to an hr flat.

Get 5 mates together, drop your armour down to 29 or 26, use nothing other than raid weapons (u wont have vanilla weps) and give it a go

Let's just say day one the first completion came after somewhere upwards of 10 hours for world first. My first completion a couple days later came after a grueling 7 hour run. This is also because we didn't know what to do on all parts or strategies mind you. The gorgon maze took like 7 attempts itself and jumping puzzle... Let's not talk about that. Lol

1 commentaireThe Atheon fight is a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. 3 get teleported, 3 stay behind. One group must open the time gate while the other must make it out alive with the relic before they're killed by the oracles. Then the relic holder jumps to the center pad and shields the guardians while they shoot through that shield at Atheon. Brilliant. And hard!

The vex ran out of buckets to keep tears from flooding the vault.

1 commentaireI once played vog for 8 hours straight. Everyone was level 27 except one guy was lvl 28. We couldn't get past Templar. On normal mode.

Vog was really hard at the beginning but so much fun tho. Grinding helmet for weeks, turned 30 week before TDB. Crota was fun and the beginning, learning sword and building bridge but to easy once you know the mechanics.

Hard VoG as a 28 or 29 was very challenging, I'd say 8-10 range for most people. Crota was maybe 5 if you're being generous. Most people were at or close to the level needed when doing it, so it was automatically easier. I remember when you had to plan your day around doing a VoG lol.

I remember doing Gorgons for like 2-3 hours trying to figure out the path and not getting spotted.

Took me all week when it started and I still never landed gear I needed. It was hard.

The hardest parts were figuring out how all the raids worked. How each part worked. Once you figured that out it was just a matter of fighting at level 26. It was tough but probably the most fun on this game and it's a shame that it won't be like that ever again

Just getting to 26 or higher was a major challenge if you didn't play every day. Lol.
