So... I think maybe this is kinda obvious... but no checkpoints in PoE is leaving blood on my brain. Not being able to take a break is ludicrous. But question, if we stop right now for a lunch break are we gonna get kicked for being idle? I think this needs a solve, like three weeks ago.

No checkpoints needed.

1 commentaireModifié par CCXGT : 6/8/2015 6:00:31 PMI've beaten Skolas once. On the first week of HoW, when no one knew what the shit was going on. I'd say me and the two randoms I had spent about 3 hours on Skolas ALONE. It was ridiculous... Since then, I haven't touched PoE 35.

57 commentairesModifié par VoxNovo : 6/8/2015 12:47:38 PMI proposed there be a checkpoint system even before PoE came out. I knew this was going to happen. Just make it a "punch card" system like the ToO. When you join with a fireteam, you go to the LOWEST round that anyone on the fireteam has completed. If everyone has completed round 4, then you launch into round 5. This fixes the checkpoint problem so that you can save and come back, and also prevents anyone from just LFG posting to get into the final round.

1 commentaireMy team went afk after attempting Skolas for like an hour then we got kicked for being idle

I say that it allows you for checkpoints, but you can't do ANY other activity while that checkpoint is there. When you leave to orbit, it could ask you if you would like to CP and state you can't do other things
-
I agree. Someone needs to make an official petition for this. I'll gladly sign it. I don't care what crazy types of checkpoints they come up with. Just have it. Trials of osiris type of card would work wonders for poe. People have lives, and things can happen in life that will force you to stop playing. Its nice to take a break and tackle Skolas again when your eyes aren't all bloodshot. Lol.
-
This 100%. I appreciate their desire to not have CPs but reality often looks different than paper. It's super unhealthy for people to be playing for 5 hours straight. If their goal is to keep people playing one way to guarantee people stop playing is to have people invest 5 hours into something an leave without beating it. And it's not even like you get adept primaries every (or any for me) time you beat Skolas. If Bungie doesn't address (the sometimes 6 hours or playing and leaving without a CP) soon, I would guess that less and less people will be playing the PoE 35 for sure.

Yay! Horde mode.

I like the idea of checkpoints, but not at the boss round. I think checkpoints at the halfway point (round 3) would be good. You wouldn't be able to just hop in to get quick rewards, and you don't lose all progress. Its a compromise but I wouldn't mind it.

2 commentairesYou need a passage token to get into ToO, make it the same for PoE. After each round you get a new token to grant access into the next round. If you dont have it, you can't jump in. Problem solved. /thread

5 commentairesI know a lot of people are saying it in a rude way, but as politely as I can, my best advice is to get better. I have fireteams that can do a full lvl 35 run in under an hour.
-
Yeah they outta just give us checkpoints
-
2 commentairesI agree on POE needing check points. Not everyone beats these in 45 min like some people can. We are stuck on 32 Qodron, just do not have the firepower to burn the boss down quick and to many times the eye just wants to hide, and that I am probably not the best player.
-
Absolutely agree. Even if there was only one checkpoint, at the boss round, it would be better than what we have currently.
-
You obviously never played zombies! No check points, or end! 12 hours straight I played that once and we only died cause I fell asleep! Get some stamina lad!
-
1 commentaireProbably the main reason poe is a waste of time. Poe lacks in many many different ways but this is total crap!
-
I was debating kicking 2 people that I joined in on skolas because they had no idea what they were doing. Stupid of them to give me leader. But this problem wouldn't be if there were checkpoints. Only people who reached x round should have a checkpoint at x round. I get bungie not letting people hand out checkpoints as seen in the raids but it doesn't have to be that way. Everyone who reached a certain level should be able to leave at any time and come back to it.
-
3 commentairesHonestly, the only POE I think MUST have a checkpoint system is Skolas. Even if it was set the way raids are done I think it would be fair. That experience takes WAYYYYY too long to get done in a sit down. Having to wiggle my controller every 5 minutes while I'm prepping dinner for my family isn't cool. So what if people share the checkpoint. Honestly the biggest challenge is the final encounter anyway and it isn't like you get any rewards for the other encounters.
-
It needs checkpoints, but not checkpoints you can pass around to everyone
-
In my opinion maybe 1% of firteams will come back in and complete the event with all the same people, 99% of the time every one from that fire team will be in the forums with a checkpoint when they resume and want all new people and that is the problem. One possible fix is to give the checkpoint to a full fire team and if they don't all go back in you have to start fresh.
-
Agreed especially with the difficulty level so high on the bosses. I have a regular team and we fought through to Quodron for the first time last week, only to run out of time before we could beat him (to all you master players out there, he really is hard!). Unfortunately, the idea of having to wade through the first four rounds again just to have another go at him just puts me off. I'm not against difficulty, I'm not asking for a nerf, but a checkpoint would mean the world to my regular group.
-
That wasn't directed towards you OP, I agree
-
Then you will have to make a reward for every round or else people will just join at the end
-
Who cares if new people jump in and finish? They do it all day long on the forums anyway! Checkpoints are a must , I have two kids and something always comes up mid game drives me nuts
-
Totally agree! There is no good reason for NOT having check points.
-
Agreed. I think I'm quitting this game finally due to this. For those who are talking about Bungie being worried about abusing checkpoints: make the whole activity worth doing, and then people will want to do it. If the activities aren't fun in a VIDEO GAME, then people aren't going to do it.
