Simple as this... many players have not even tried either raid due to no matchmaking. The argument isn't if they can do it... the argument is, should they have a chance?
Not adding raid matchmaking was a lazy decision and has pushed countless players away from this game... the thought that people are still arguing over this hurts my head. I am embarrassed for bungie.

Maybe they expected more active clans. But, then they forgot to make it easy to find a good clan. Just unfinished.

It's part of the new 'agile' development, which essentially says, give them the absolute minimum as fast as possible, and add features as you go. So, you get something earlier rather than later, but it takes longer to 'finish.' It also allows them to change direction (or even stop) based on various things. It's not necessarily bad, but I think a lot of us would have waited 6 months longer to get a better first impression. But, from a company point of view, it doesn't matter since we all purchased anyway.

I hate that it has gotten this way... I am actually excited about new games like the witcher 3 because they have flat out delayed the game like 4 times just so they know it is absolutely ready. And they have already confirmed 15 free DLC's... i mean they might be small things like customizations... but they have made it very clear that they whole "nickle and dime" the consumers to death is not a good company plan. *cough destiny*

ha, very true. that is the whole problem!... Destiny requires console players to use a computer to complete the game... which is absolutely insane. - Story... have to go online to view grimoire - Raid/Nightfall strike... have to go to lfg or forums to find a team - Parties/Teams... have to go to bungie.net to join a clan Someone was smoking some insane herp derp crack when they came up with this community game plan.
