Word of Crota is the best thing since Fatebringer
The only reason people hate on it is because it doesn't have firefly. Really? Everyone praises the fang of ir yut, yet it has absolutely nothing special. It's barely better than NITC. WoC is a beast in PvP and it's awesome to use too in PvE. If fatebringer never existed, WoC would be ''The Gun'' to get. This community has been spoiled. What's completely retarded is the love for the fang over WoC, lol. Why would you use a scout rifle over a decent hand cannon? (especially WoC with the (potential) 16 bullets) Takes double the effort to do as much dmg AND is awkward to use at close range.

I like WoC. It's a solid HC. I have a feeling that a couple of these new raid primaries are going to go through some changes. Bungie will most likely, slightly buff a few things and possibly even switch some perks out for something that better suites these guns. All of that will of course come 4 months from now after they have fixed cheeses that we players haven't even discovered and exploited yet.

5 RepliesEnemies with void shields: Vex Minotaur Vex praetorian Cabal psion Two of the three don't have critical spots. So the elemental damage is of limited use due to the limited amount of enemies with this elemental shield and the perks are of limited use as well. You are better off using a normal legendary HC with more impact because it will kill quicker due to its higher impact on the non shielded enemies which are more frequent. Then switching to a elemental for the shields.

1 ReplyI much prefer Thorn and Timur's Lashes (have 2). WoC is a poor man's TLW with inappropriate perks and no cool animation. My WoC is fully levelled and sits in my vault.

It's perk set isn't better than Fatebringer but it's still a very useful gun to have. Next time Void burn is up I'll feel sorry for the guys still using the Epilogue. But yeah aside form the Void damage it's a good hand cannon, not a great one.

1 Replythink lash is better it rolls to suit players needs, only gun that out does it in damage is hawkmoon and with field scout has 13 rounds

I'm doing my best to try and choose Word of Crota over Fatebringer. It hasn't happened yet. I'm trying to use it though.

My problem is just the stats. To me a high rate of fire is useless especially since I have to get crits in order to activate the perk, furthermore the impact is really low for a hand cannon. It all depends on play style really.

I used my WoC through some of this week's Nightfall. I was overly impressed, but the RoF is very nice and maximizes your DPS.

I find that the word of crota isn't really that special, especially in pvp. When I fire it fast I get confused on where the sight is. The hive plates on the sides make it distracting. Fatebringer is better because of the precision reload.

My favorite hand cannon is actually a blue regulator mk.56...it has explosive rounds on it and for some reason I enjoy playing with it more then most hand cannons..

I only got to try Word of Crota for an hour or so last night and I love it sofar!!! Going to be amazing when upgraded!!!

2 RepliesI don't like it cus it has void, I have one and I don't think I'll use it, everything is pretty much solar or arc, it's only gonna be real useful in void nightfall a, but even then there's arc enemies. Disclaimer: it's obviously useful if you're a hand cannon kind of guy, but I am not.

3 RepliesYou are mistaken. It's not just because it doesn't have Firefly that people hate on it. WoC impact low for a HC (many adds that FB kills in one crit shot require 2 from WoC) and it's broken. Hive disruptor negates crit shot perk, as do explosive rounds which makes it dumb to include them as an option. Void damage means it will be most useful against Vex. Minotaurs have no crits, again negating the perk. It's really a poorly designed weapon on Bungie's part. Imho, the two best 331 HCs are Timur's Lash and Thorn. I am on Xbone, so can't speak for the Hawkmoon. Fatebringer is still the next best HC after those. Better for some circumstances, such as Arc NFs and even this week's triple burn NF.
