Basic troubleshooting suggests the problem is with your modem, then? Have you had a look at the configuration?

  • What should I be looking for in the modem config? I tried everything they suggested aboud ports and the other stuff in the router config, though.

It's going to be something specific to you I guess. Difficult to diagnose remotely but success via your phone means: 1. Your copy of Destiny is fine 2. Your account at the Bungie end is fine 3. Your PS4's WiFi is fine 4. Your PSN account is fine You bypassed your Wireless router with a direct cable to the modem but still got the problem so that suggests: 1. Wireless router is not the problem My thoughts are: 1. If it's a wired router not wireless, are you using the same ethernet cable to connect the PS4 to the modem? If so try changing the cable. Purpose: establish the cable is faulty. 2. Log on to the modem and check your settings on all the tabs/pages. See if you can see any relevant Bungie help on the settings or Google them with terms like Destiny or online gaming. If no luck, post them here (not username obviously) See what forum users can recommend or what other forum users settings are. Purpose: establish the modem settings are the problem. 3. Take your PS4 to a friend's house and connect it to their Internet service via WiFi and cable to see if you still get the error. Purpose: establish if your Internet service is the problem. 4. Borrow another modem from a friend and put your user details in to test it. Purpose: establish if the modem is faulty. These kind of issues are a real pain but if you can break it down logically you should be able to rule things out one by one until you know what the problem is. At least it's consistent. An intermittent problem is much harder. Hope this helps. Oh one other thing - my own connection is direct to modem with a cable. I had connection issues every now and then with no apparent reason. I asked a friend with the same setup and Internet provider. Turns out the modem the ISP provides has four ports but will only distribute 2 IP addresses so my WiFi router took one and as my partner was occasionally watching TV (my service is provided over Internet) whilst I played, that was taking the other and leaving my PS4 unable to get an IP. There's always the possibility it's something crazy like that! Which is why forums are great :)

  • It makes no sense, as I've been able to play with no problem and I own Deestiny ever since it was released. I changed nothing on my internet ever since, I don't know what to think. But thanks for all your suggestions, and I'll try everything you said. Nice to see there's still people willing to help and not just trolls. Would be nice to see Bungie putting that same effort into solving our problems and not just that lame excuse for a troubleshooting page.

  • One other thing, your ISP may have changed something. You can call them and ask if they have made any changes at all, however slight, just before you had the issue.
