ICE BREAKER Warning.
If you've bought yours today, you deserve it.
Busting non stop ass to receive strange coins. Not many people get to play all the time or have multiple characters and for those who don't get those advantages it can be very hard but, you've stayed with destiny until here, and worked hard. You deserved every bit of that gorgeous gun.
The people who are butt hurt do not understand that it's random and probably fail at life.
Raids will be easier, night falls will be epic, strikes will be perfect.
I'm happy for everyone who got theirs today and if you haven't Id do whatever I could to earn strange coins or hope it drops for you one day.
I didn't purchase it when I first seen it months ago because I thought it was an old regular sniper, after a month or two people talked about it non-stop.
I realized what a mistake I had made and kept pushing through the bullshit from bungie and destiny and the received my Ice Breaker finally in nightfall this week.
I was super excited and still am, I bought 2 of them from xur so each character could have one of their own.
You guys deserved it, don't let anyone call you a noob or say you didn't earn it.

When will people understand that in THIS game there is no "earning". It isn't like the ice breaker requires a complicated 3 month feat to achieve it that separates the greatest players from the rest of the pack. You can buy it for peanuts, receive it from a random engram or get it after completely a nightfall or raid. It's only a Matter of time before everyone owns every gun.

2 RepliesWether you got your Ice Breaker by the RNG or by buying it from Xur; I don't know y'all so I don't give a damn. I only care that my fireteam members acquire their first Ice Breakers so we can wreck everything/everyone. This way we become stronger.

I wasn't going to buy Ice Breaker but all the ButtHurt flowing from this post has made me change my mind. In fact I am only going to use my IB sparingly, never lvl it up but just have it sit there on my back looking massive. -All praise RnGeezus and his disciple Xur

1 ReplyI got mine from xur the first time he sold it, such a great gun, I was actually disappointed he was selling it this weekend because I wanted Hardlight, but I bought Obsidian Mind and gtjdfwsaiuyg symbiote (not sure if I spelt that right?) instead, plus got to upgrade my Last Word. Xur is a great addition to the game, it's genuinely hard work for casual (mostly solo) players to collect enough strange coins each week, so we actually feel like we've "earned" his wares, just as much as someone who had it drop from a raid or nightfall. This is just my casual player point of view though, the hardcore gamers are likely the only ones who feel any different, or those that want to feel special. I hope everyone enjoys their new icebreakers, here's a tip: you can switch to icebreaker when you run out of special ammo, wait till you're at full ammo again then switch back to your preferred special, you'll retain the ammo

Exactly this.. You have to earn coins before you can buy so buying from Xur is earning. A drop is nothing more than a free gift that you didn't have to do anything for. I got mine in the vault raid, I didn't do anything to earn it, just a lucky drop. I like that Xur sells stuff I haven't had the luck of getting in drops. Hope the galahorn gets sold soon too. What a show the forums will be that day.

11 RepliesI had "earned" my icebreaker 1.0 a month ago. I've been waiting for xur to sell the upgrade for icebreaker, but it never came. So I bought the 2.0 version today and dismantled my 1.0 version. To those of you who will say, "but he sold the upgrade almost a month ago. I "earned" it after he sold the upgrade. Now, in my personal opinion, buying the icebreaker felt more like I earned it more than when I got it as a drop on VoG. I recently started playing with three characters. So I wasn't getting 100 strange coins every week like a lot of you when I first started. I wanted to buy another exotic helmet for my beast of a titan from Xur, but I opted to get the icebreaker and obsidian mind. Yes, I "bought" obsidian mind, too. Because I only had 30 something coins, it felt like I paid a lot for it even though it was only 17 coins. But only because I know how it feels to get it for FREE as a random drop. I have all three guardian classes now, I'm looking to buy exotics for all three of my characters making strange coins even more valuable to me. That is why buying it felt like I earned it more this time than when I got it as a drop. So those of you buying the damn gun, enjoy that bad boy, and shove it in these elitists faces and let them know how good it felt buying it. *drops the mic*

@TheLastWarlock ++ some of these scrub ass kids don't seem to get that other people put just as much time and effort into trying to acquire these weapons and armor if not more, and don't realize all of their drops are random EVEN THE RAID ONES so by their own definition they didn't earn them either, I was fortunate to have gotten mine from the nightfall, others bought from xur, even if the nightfall didn't drop exotics I would have still done it for the materials, glimmer, and chance for drops of legendary engrams (PROTIP no amount of farming will net you legendaries or exotics its probably time based with some boosts to chance the higher level you are and more mobs you kills and more precision kills you get its in essence almost totally random certain activities like the nightfall might have slight chance increases but not enough to guarantee them. it may even be based off of a certain time (fudging your time to when you first got one might actually drop them do note that going into the future or past prevents buying from vendors and might even prevent you from logging in to destiny as well as may be considered "Cheating") its impossible to know how or when they drop without statistical analysis something most of the kids here don't have the time nor patience or skill to do and I doubt most people want to waste time on it even if they could do it). I can say however that doing ALL of your bounties and turning them in together has a pretty good chance at netting you exotic bounties these are time consuming and net only a few exotics but you will get grimoire on some for completing them.
