$500,000 to produce a game that wins one blog "award". Stunning, isn't it?
Oops: makes that $500,000,000

Sadly its more like 100 million and around 50 more for marketing expenses. Otherwise the 500 millions wont last them for the obligatory 2 extra sequels, dlc they planned for the 10 years. Its just that spending 50 million per year on the franchise doesn't sound nearly as sexy these days (especially when it also covers marketing)
-
Floored by the numbers.
-
And it took 50 million dollars to design America's first nuclear reactor.
-
Point.

500 mil is for the 10 years not one game Man you kids never learn
-
And they are already working on D2 so yeah 10 year game goes out the window. Most game life cycles are 1 year not 10
-
The 10 year design is over 4 games. Thus game was not designed to be strung along with dlc over a 10 year period.
-
Regardless. The game won one blog award, and is near the bottom of most other game if the year lists. Shocking, yes?
-
Didn't it win fps of the year for gamestop? And game of the year for another site?
-
And, as an FPS, I would agree that Destiny's gameplay mechanics are lovely! That's why, despite its many problems, I continue to enjoy the game for a little while each day.
-
Well it's an FPS first and foremost so thats how it should be graded
-
Agreed.
-
Not sure. I'll look into it. But, I've heard that the GameStop award is a bit like an IGN award: influenced largely by the business relationships of the companies.

It's a stunning piece of rng dildo smack!
-
You're missing 3 zeros. $500 000 000... seems like a worse achievement withthis number
-
Right. Holy failed shit!
-
That's the expected amount that the entire franchise would cost. Not what they spent on this single game.
-
ohhh, i thought it was the money Craptivision put into selling it them game... I tend to read past most things important lol
-
No to mention the 25+GB data storage on current age discs that they didn't use
-
Right.
