Icebreaker Non-existent?
What is it going to take to finally get an icebreaker? I don't even want to know how many hundreds of hours of play time I have put in, and not an icebreaker anywhere in sight. I totally understand the whole RNG concept, but at some point there needs to be an alternate way of earning the loot we desire.
I swore I'd never make more than one character, but after the first few weeks of not getting an icebreaker I decided to up my odds with three characters with runs of each possible mission that may drop one.
I'm so over it. Time after time getting the same exact stuff, but no icebreaker. I paid good money, and have had a lot of fun but now I'm afraid the gig is up. If Xur doesn't sell icebreaker this week I'll be trading my copy of Destiny in to Gamestop.
Ps. RNG is the worst reward system/idea I've ever encountered. This will be the last game I ever play that revolves around RNG and trying to make people play the same thing over and over waiting for something that may truly never come.

You probably won't like it, but run Roc Strikes. I've picked up my ice breaker from there and have also found a few more exotics. It gets a little old running same strikes over and over again, but try to have fun with it. Just run into a group of enemies you know you can't kill and see how many you can take with you. Good luck!

I thought I would never get it. I have friends that have 2 or 3. Finally got it in the nightfall this week. Be patient. RNGesus works in mysterious ways lol.

1 ReplyTough it out bud, I have 2 weeks played on my main, like 3 days on my warlock, and maybe 1 day on my Titan. Still no Ice Breaker, Suros, or ballerhorn. Just gotta buck up, grow balls, and continue to suck RNGsus' big meat stick in hopes of pleasing him.

Welcome to random loot of RPG's my friend... Lol still looking for it myself :/ most RPG's have named mobs or certain mobs that have higher chance of dropping items. This is the first game I've ever played that is more random than Vegas slots. Lol I'm still praying to the icebreaker god..... Good luck brother. Husk of pit was easier for me to get. Im still trying to figure it out.

1 ReplyYou're not the only one...sadly. Been trying to get it since launch, i was gone that one weekend xûr sold it. Annoying to see xûr selling plan c and truth several times in a row instead of changing weapons each weekend. Done all the nightfalls and raids, and not to mention hundreds of tiger /roc strikes.

Found ice breaker in lost items

I got my first Icebreaker from a Tiger Strike. Then got a second one recently from a level 30 Nightfall. The level 28 I carried through the Nighfall got a Gjallahorn! I've been grinding crucible and ROC strikes, but can't get the Gjallahorn to drop. Don't get me started on the Nightfall rewards recently. What I've noticed about the exotic rewards is that I seem to get whatever weapon I'm using the most, so I've been trying to use a rocket launcher whenever I can.

You will get it. Icebreaker was my first exotic ever and also the only one Ive ever maxed or gotten a double of. Great weapon

I couldn't agree more. After tons of hours spent on this game, I still haven't been lucky enough to have an Icebreaker or Gjallahorn drop. It kills me that I didn't have the coins when each of those were being sold by Xur.
