No I didn't. I contacted Bungie Help and they said that the content is only for the purchaser of the DLC.

Thanks for your help. At least I know we'll both get the content though it's pretty irritating that only one of us will get all the extra little things seeing as we split the price between us

I was irritated by this too. :-( My brother got the sparrow and he doesn't even play Destiny as much as I do!
