I'm quite sure the gear will allow u to reach lvl 31. Look back to reg vanguard gear. U could reach 29. So i think the pattern will stick. Yes it does allow players to reach 30 but they have changed it somewhat by adding the commendations needed to purchase gear. Now it takes about a week to reach a new rank in vanguard so it not going to be fast by any means.

I think the new vanguard gear should only be boosted by one light per item. So instead of max light 27 it can go to 28. My raid gear is special... Nothing special about stupid ass legendary buys.

Well currently 4 pieces get u to 28.9 and with one exotic u get to 29.5 to I'll assume that if the pattern holds then we should be able to reach 31.5 if you are already lvl 30. The math is strange. So 120 points gets u to 30 and if the system stays the same then 31 would be 131 points which would mean the new gear would have to be 35.6 or 36 points each.
