I agree, but ADS changes the control scheme. The control scheme doesn't need to be changed.

Its not ADS though

It pretty much is. I mean is it generally the same? Sort of. The DMR is the same and the principles of all the other games are there. My only problem I see so far is the BR and the pistol. Again, it's going to drastically change the control scheme of the game. I think with Halo the control scheme has had a history with being butchered, but this is honestly like a worst nightmare in terms of Halo's uniqueness.

It is no different than the zoom in all of the games. It will have the same controls, most likely

It uses LT, just like Call of Duty and any mainstream shooter. At least that's what everyone has been saying. Does it function the same as zoom? Yes. So why change/add zoom at all? To accommodate to other gamers. It's hard to really have respect for a developer that changes simple function just to earn a couple more bucks. We'll see at beta though just how well it works. At the most, I hope it offers more immersion.

You know for a fact it uses LT? Source? And this is pasted from previous argument: People fail to realize that 343i needs to attract a wider consumer base as they need sales in order to make any game. If they let Halo remain as it was, no one would buy it(except the hardcore fans), and halo would cease to be supported. Besides, people bitch that COD is copy pasta, but they all want Halo to be copy pasta? Hypocrites
-
That's not necessarily true. The community has openly stated they want the classic Halo feel back. Is it more realized with what we see in 5 compared to 4? Absolutely. Arena is back and that is...bad...ass. There are some things though that give a franchise its identity. Is it just the damn zoom? No, but we start accommodating for other franchises then Halo is no different than any other shooter. COD 4 had LT for zoom and it was a damn good game, but Halo 3 still had a higher population. People loved it's simplistic style of combat along with all the other little features that added to the orchestrated carnage. I do see that with this game and it excites me, but if it ain't broke don't fix definitely comes to mind.
-
But you aren't seeing the point. If they don't attract a wider audience, there will be no more halo games
-
That's not true. At all. Each main Halo title has sold more than its predecessor. There is a demand for Halo. It's well over a billion dollar franchise. So I don't see how the wider audience needs attention when they've been buying the games
-
How can it expand when the a large portion its fan base is acidic to it. The fan base is what will destroy halo
-
Now that is something I can both disagree and agree on. Halo fans are always so confused on what they want, especially when it comes to the little details. I think though most of us want classic Halo type gameplay back. My opinion is that Halo doesn't need to change to accommodate, but needs to dig deeper into what it already does well. Frankly, that's what Bungie did and it worked most of the time. I think Halo will always be good enough to attract more players based on it's uniqueness, but we have to make sure the rest of the market doesn't pressure a beloved milestone in gaming to the point where it isn't the same at all.
