This is an amazing idea. I literally googled "Destiny low level gear looks cooler than high level gear" and this was the first thing on the list. I'm currently wearing the cryptid gear and there are -blam!-ing carvings in the mask and the chest. It looks amazing. Not to mention it's all black too.

Same happens for the Titan with the Knight armor for exemple, its default black and looks awesome. The lower levels look way better than higher level armor.. I play mostly Warlock and I do prefer the early robes instead of the Trenchcoat I have to wear now...
