Is anything going to be done about them? I just did a strike to kill whatshisname on Earth. It was me and another guy with one dude just sitting in the back doing nothing.
We wiped once and when he spawned next to us he just ran to safety, so I know he was there.
This is the 4th time someone has been doing this today.

What I also hate is when you've got to kill Sepiks and both teammates go to orbit after the walker is destroyed. It's obvious they were just in it for the Queen's bounty, but at least have the decency to finish what you start.

7 RepliesEdited by Crows Descend: 10/5/2014 4:48:07 PMYes, happened in my Strike too. The guy stood still until me and the other guy (doing the work) died, then he ran to safety. It's annoying, they are so inconsiderate... but I just ignore em and usually report for inactivity ^^ I personally think a debuff should be given to players who AFK Strikes & Crucible. By "debuff" I mean something like a spell, similar to the 2Radiant Light" buff you get from doing Nightfall, but instead, this "debuff" for inactivity would last around 10-30 minutes and won't allow the player to do Strikes or Crucible again, until the debuff has worn out.

2 RepliesI haven't had anyone do that. And if they do, I just sit there with them. It gives them a choice, do I actually help, or do I leave.
-
1 ReplyReport them?
-
You report them.

1 ReplyHey listen, you have no need to worry my friend. Remember, it is Bungie who is running the show primarily, and they do not fancy those who cheat the game. They still have the Ban-Hammer from the halo days. In Halo Reach, Bungie reset everyone who AFK'd through the FireFight. So rest assured, those guardians consumed by the darkness will get what's coming to them.
-
2 RepliesI usually report them for being unhelpful by going to their profile. I understand that you can forgot to cancel the matchmaking timer and have to leave the strike at the beginning, I've had to do it, but I try not too. But if you are running through the strike and they aren't doing anything. Report em, maybe it won't help immediately, but their rating will go down the more it happens and eventually someone may look into it.
-
Report them for inactivity.
-
3 RepliesBut I don't go AFK. I let you guys do all the work while I farm resources. Its called time management skills.
-
I report them, then push them infront of an enemy. (Perfect if their trying to complete a flawless strike)
-
they could be running you over with their sparrow (killing you) or warlocks can throw you off ledges with melee or at least make it impossible to play. be happy they aren't griefing you instead ;)
-
I slap them repeatedly. Its amazing how many start moving again after that.
-
Bungie needs to give the Strike fireteam leader the ability to kick. I realize that that would be abused like hell, but then again what isn't?
-
4 RepliesYeah I played the moon strike today and when we arrived at the boss one guy just stood in a safe corner in the back of the hallway dancing... Really annoying

Edited by Hatty Schoel: 10/5/2014 7:55:11 PMwhat if i have to take a dump cause matchmaking took longer than a min also im constipated ?

5 RepliesI only have a issue with people who deliberately afk so they can reap the rewards for zero work put in. However people have lives. I'm not going to punish someone for afking because real life is demanding their attention. Today we live in such a busy world, that if people were to only strike when the KNOW they can dedicate 20-40 minutes to it uninterrupted, then the strike playlist would be empty. I rarely afk when I go into strikes, but when I do, I don't give a crap about the "ethics" of the game. I'm not going to ignore important phone calls, the doorbell, when my dogs need something, or when my family needs help with something.
-
I don't get why people would pay $60 to not play a game...
-
A kick feature would solve this, 2 votes would kick the other guy out and should have someone else pop in to replace them.
-
Edited by SisterSafetyPin: 10/5/2014 7:37:36 PMIt's been happening to me a lot this weekend. Fair warning, I report people that do that shit to me
-
I ran into this problem the other day. Although what annoys me most is the people in the strike playlist who don't quit until the next strike starts.
-
1 ReplyIts impossible to do what you say people are doing, they would have been kicked after 3 minutes of inactivity.
-
8 RepliesAFK-ers & thumbstick rubberband-ers. Obstructionists (people who follow you through a strike doing nothing but trying to stand in front of you in the hope that you'll leave). Tiger Strike opening section farmers. People who deliberately join strikes only to go back to orbit as soon as the strike begins. I either run into a ton of the above or none at all on any given day. Quite annoying when any of the aforementioned occurs, especially when it occurs over and over (and over).
-
Some strikes make it so that if you sit in a safe room a really hard enemy will apear
-
1 ReplyI seriously think there should be a kick timer. If they haven't get 1 kill, or not gotten hurt or not moved at all for say a minute or so you get a warning timer that counts down to when you get kicked
-
7 RepliesEdited by Khârn the Betrayer: 10/5/2014 6:09:40 PMI push them into combat and use the report function, selecting all of the negative options. Sometimes repeatedly until I see them leave the game. And people still think raid matchmaking is a good idea...

To those that AFK strikes: I don't care, I'd rather solo it anyway
