Hello Bungie and the Destiny Community! I would like to state that the Loot Cave in the Cosmodrome is in dire need of a fix. I don't think many self-entitled gamers (exploiters) realize that by participating in the farming of the mobs for engrams means that one is actually using an exploit to attempt to attain gear at a faster rate than normal. I hope the Bungie see's this as the same. My main character is a Titan whom at the moment is level 27. All the levels I have acquired were through legitimate means and I have had a blast in doing so. Exploiters, you are ruining the game for yourselves and slapping the staff at Bungie in the face for not exploring the means necessary to acquire gear. Finally, I would like to mention that myself and others are reporting exploiters for cheating because we feel as if it is unfair to the devs and the legitimate community. We shall sit in the caves so that the mobs will not spawn for those whom wish to exploit their spawn rate. Join us if you will. Stand up for a potentially amazing game!
Update: 9/25/2014
"Destiny: The Cave
The social experience of a cave farming run is amazing: the herding to get a team of Guardians all behind the line and firing in the right direction, the rush to grab the loot, the scramble when the panic wave starts, the beckoning glow from inside the cave. The speed at which the community organized around this activity was inspiring and humbling to us.
But shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience. Expect changes soon which decrease the efficiency of cave farming and correspondingly increase engram drops from completing activities."

Unfortunately for the mass morons who said I was whining, I'm an idiot, a snitch and etc. Bungie and I share the same ideas about their game and how its played. Most of you were just attempting to mask what your exploiting really was by saying it was true farming. The drop rates in the caves were broken. Period. If you all were true gamers, gamers that appreciated the game and not those who just want to look nice and seem badass in a short amount of time, you would know that such errors in the game that are taken advantage of are indeed exploits. Have fun rage quitting and leave the game to those who actually are willing to put the work in. By the way I have no problem with true farming my problem is with those farming an exploit for easy gear/materials; I have a problem with those who seek hand outs, like the able bodied person on welfare seeks hand outs from the government.

Dude chillax.

My buddy was telling me about this, he did it enough to where the factions came to war and wrecked him Lolz. I don't know what any of this is!
-
I think you're making it out to be more detrimental than it actually is. Bounty reputation seems to be considerably faster than just farming this, at least in my experience. Besides, it's already a well-known location. If Bungie deems this method to be too fast then they'll patch it, simple as that. Either way you probably should be making better use of your time by enjoying the game rather than going out of your way to piss random people off for enjoying it how they want to. To put it simply, mind your own business. :P

Edited by Splash: 9/20/2014 1:39:00 PMThe loot cave is not an exploit when it's purposefully built into the game by the developers. I agree its a rather cheap way to get engram drops; however, it's called farming. I have no problem if players farm the cave. I did it last night and ended up getting nothing useful from that damn cryptarch. It's no different than farming any other area on any planet because all enemies need to respawn. Shooting at enemies is not cheating and it is a means to explore getting better gear, contrary to what the op claims. This is a feedback forum, yet this child doesn't actually provide useful feedback. The only change that I would agree with is if they reduce the engram drop rate of enemies in that cave to equalize it with other areas. And to put it in perspective, I tried this loot cave last night b/c I had no idea what everyone was talking about. I got 16 rare engrams and 2 legendary after about 2 hours of farming that cave. I normally get 12 rares and 1 legendary in a 2 hour window farming other places. So the drop rate for better engrams is a tad higher, but not by that much. Consider in the crucible, someone can go 0-20 and get a legendary engram in 10 mins. People need to stop whining and calling this an exploit because it's not! It's just an easy farming technique and I could care less if players use it.
-
If Bungie didn't want people farming, then they would have made it a lot easier to get rare & legendary engrams, plus they never would have made that spot available. Quit complaining about people farming there, they payed for the game so they have the right to farm there or anywhere else in the game.

6 RepliesBy the way, if anyone sees the OP or any of his "special" friends at the cave, be sure to report them as interfering with another players ability to play the game is considered griefing, and these selfish, self-entitled crusaders of assways justice deserve everything they get.
-
The only people ruining the game is people like you. Who cares if I kill the same mobs over and over? Maybe I LIKE doing it. By interfering with the spawning on purpose you are completely messing up the game for people that want to play that way. Also, NEWSFLASH you can't get better gear without farming. Let people play the game the way they want to play it.
-
I payed 64,-€ for this game, therefore I am 'self-entitled' to play the game like I want. There is no 'legit way' to play this game. You can do what is possible. Also the process of getting better gear is tedious and consumes to much time allready. Not every player is still at school and has the whole evening at his disposal!
-
Or are they Grimoire score farming? You don't know.
-
Oh cry me a river if you don't like it then don't play all you guys do is whine abt stupid stuff it's anoying we are allowed to farm engrams it's not a crime so why don't u just cut the childish crap and get along with everyone

I dont know if you have realized but you need to strategize in Destiny. It's kindav its thing, the only way this could be considered exploiting is by saying its exploiting a way to boost levels for a noob. The people up in the 20+ can not kill things and level. We have to have light and by the time we get to 27 or so we have to upgrade to move up any higher. So stop your whining, your type is the type ruining these wonderful games.

3 RepliesPlease stop calling destiny a mmo. It is a shared world/open world shooter with some mmo aspects. It is not a traditional mmo so your argument that it should be treated as such is just plain silly.
-
3 RepliesSo where's this spot again? Lol.
-
2 RepliesBy sitting in the caves and negating their spawns you deprive other gamers of a legitimate experience as they venture through. I personally have no idea where this "loot cave" is, and prefer to just play the game legitimately. But if I do stumble upon it, I'd be robbed of the experience if you or someone like you prevented their spawn. Just food for thought. I'd like to add that I do agree with you, but I think Bungie should handle it.

I wanna skin u and throw u in a pool of boiling salty water

The way that the engrams you depict are scaling it's highly unlikely if not impossible for anyone less than level twenty to get anything more than a tiny bit better than what they have. This also doesn't hurt you at all. If anything it helps you. When you're "legitimately" grinding strike playlists for your gear I'll bet most of the randoms that you get paired with have farmed that cave or another spot like it. I know for me at least once I've gotten a little tired of the strikes I go and farm the cave for a bit to level my cryptarch and get upgrade materials
-
5 RepliesOP, have you EVER played any MMO, like ever? Farming is in any game that involves loot drops. It's not cheating, and frankly you're a child if you think its hurting you in any way.
-
14 RepliesI agree. This is some real bullshit. I saved a video of myself shooting an awesome amount of elites that were fighting each other there and after 4 level 25s arrived (I was level 11 or so) the entire level had the monsters despawned and these numskulls started farming the bloody cave. Its seriously shit. I don't want level 25s farming in my instance of old Russia and changing the enemy spawns. I really need to upload that video...
-
Is it cheating in anyway if its down to a spawn location the devs put into the game?????? You cant report people and say how dare you kill those enemys that keep spawning to get loot thats not what this game is about..... all you do is shoot loot repeat no matter what planet your on why should it matter if you do it at this cave?
-
4 RepliesI'll admit I've used this method once, and I'm not sure if I ever will again. Although I agree it is more appropriate to get gear in a normal fashion ie: crucible, strikes, patrol, ect. I don't a agree with sitting in a cave to prevent enemies from spawning, if anyone is going to prevent this from being an "exploit" it will be Bungie. Not some guy wasting his time sitting in a cave.
-
Jesus what a cry baby. Levels have NOTHING to do with drop rates. Its been said before. A level 1 enemy has the same drop rate as a 20 its been proven. This is not an exploit when every enemy in this game respawns. What about leveling gear? Spinmetal and helium? You can literally loop a planet and get all you need. Should that be taken out too? Bungie themselves put this mechanic in the game and you get upset because guardians are using it to their advantage. Drop rates increase by the amount and speed of which you kill enemies, not their difficulty setting. So while you sit on the same strike over and over praying for engrams worth while others are using the tools that Bungie put in. Type of dude to yell no running in high school.
-
Let me guess. You played a ton of crucible to unlock your factions armor. Well I for one find crucible to be a steaming pile of you know what. And since they refuse to make loot drops more prevalent in the first place. We are diminished to standing in front of a cave. What the hell do you care if people use it or not? What are you, the hall monitor. You play your way and let others play theirs.
-
MMO farming has been around since borderlands or even world of warcraft. Farming takes hours if you do it in an area where enemies are harder to kill. Please don't be stupid and post this. Honestly I farm for public events more than engrams
-
Wait so u guys r gonna be killimg the mobs then leaving the stuff or picking it up cuz that's kinda hypocritical?
-
4 RepliesDon't worry somebody there has formed the cosmodrome cops and is patrolling to report players now. Not even joking.
-
And what about the innocents u report that are patrolling there and farminga mats and killing enemies when they spawn?
