Engram Farm Exploit
Hello Bungie and the Destiny Community! I would like to state that the Loot Cave in the Cosmodrome is in dire need of a fix. I don't think many self-entitled gamers (exploiters) realize that by participating in the farming of the mobs for engrams means that one is actually using an exploit to attempt to attain gear at a faster rate than normal. I hope the Bungie see's this as the same. My main character is a Titan whom at the moment is level 27. All the levels I have acquired were through legitimate means and I have had a blast in doing so. Exploiters, you are ruining the game for yourselves and slapping the staff at Bungie in the face for not exploring the means necessary to acquire gear. Finally, I would like to mention that myself and others are reporting exploiters for cheating because we feel as if it is unfair to the devs and the legitimate community. We shall sit in the caves so that the mobs will not spawn for those whom wish to exploit their spawn rate. Join us if you will. Stand up for a potentially amazing game!

The social experience of a cave farming run is amazing: the herding to get a team of Guardians all behind the line and firing in the right direction, the rush to grab the loot, the scramble when the panic wave starts, the beckoning glow from inside the cave. The speed at which the community organized around this activity was inspiring and humbling to us.
But shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience. Expect changes soon which decrease the efficiency of cave farming and correspondingly increase engram drops from completing activities."

Unfortunately for the mass morons who said I was whining, I'm an idiot, a snitch and etc. Bungie and I share the same ideas about their game and how its played. Most of you were just attempting to mask what your exploiting really was by saying it was true farming. The drop rates in the caves were broken. Period. If you all were true gamers, gamers that appreciated the game and not those who just want to look nice and seem badass in a short amount of time, you would know that such errors in the game that are taken advantage of are indeed exploits. Have fun rage quitting and leave the game to those who actually are willing to put the work in. By the way I have no problem with true farming my problem is with those farming an exploit for easy gear/materials; I have a problem with those who seek hand outs, like the able bodied person on welfare seeks hand outs from the government.

OP..... Threatening players for playing a game with something Bungie has in it by "reporting" them based on [u]your opinion[/u] is immature. You are not a Bungie representative nor a developer. Abusing the system Bungie put in place for [b]actual legit abuse[/b] does not include what [i]you[/i] deem as a tool or weapon to be used against community. Unless otherwise stated by Bungie something is an exploit waiting to be fixed, you are wasting Bungies time with reporting players, threatening players, and forcing your opinion onto community at the expense of Bungies report system. I recommend you stop. And I recommend you come to the conclusion you are not anything but a player. If this upsets you, then do your job and focus as a community player on what you believe is a flaw in the game. Threatening to report people for playing a game is wrong. Not focusing on what you believe is broken or flawed in the game [b][i][u]IS[/u][/i][/b] as a community member your responsibility. Which you've chosen to shift into players by reporting them. Poor form. You don't blame players for what Bungie gave them. Grow up.

This has been made clear by videos on YouTube, and by several validation a below in comments. Secondly, for those community who say things similar to "Bungie doesn't think" or "Bungie does think".... Unless you (the person stating what Bungie [i]thinks[/i]) have been nominated by Bungie itself legally by proxy to speak on their behalf [u]OR[/u] you are an employee of Bungie speaking on their behalf by consensus... "You" don't know ANYTHING. You are [i]speculating[/i] what Bungie thinks, or how they feel on the matter. So unless any of the aforementioned prerequisites apply, and you speak for them without those prerequisites than your claims are nothing but speculation without a statement from Bungie stating anything. Lastly, it [u]is[/u] understandable that the cave can be viewed as exploitable. There hasn't been a time I've played that while going by it I haven't gotten captured video of a bunch of players pretty much camped out just standing in one spot all in a line taking out the never ending line of instantaneous spawns transpiring as long as the proximity isn't broken to stop the spawns. So they fact it's viewed as an exploit by anyone should be understood. Whether or not Bungie adjusts the spawn rate of that cave is obviously up to them. You rarely see a legendary drop. understand that there are different ways to grind for gear and this is one of them. I use the hell out of that cave and I've only ever gotten 2 legendary engrams and they were both for heavy weapons.

4 RepliesFarming =/= Exploiting This isn't just an FPS game my child. It's an MMO RPG. Learn the difference. Farming is forced. I bet you farm / grind anyway. Are you rank 20 who beat the campaign? Are you replaying Strikes for gear? Are you doing bounties everyday for weapon and subclass XP? Well, you're farming. Get over it and play the game.

It's not like you have to shoot at the cave, but people like me with no self respect or standards should certainly still be allowed to. It's like anyone has the right to have kids. Should we not let stupid people have kids? Of course not even though they are stupid they are entitled to raising a stupid family.

1 ReplyI'm level 28 and earned all my legendary and exotics the legit(luck RNG) way and I feel that this is not an exploit. It's farming; a concept in all mmorpgs. I'm actually gonna start doing it since crucible loot is random and I can't level up two pieces of my gear due to the A.Motes bug.

If they wanted to fix it, they would have with the last patch. I'd also like to mention that you can't get past level 24 with any of the gear that drops. Unless you happen upon a legendary engram that actually turns into a legendary armor piece you can use (which I've yet to have happen with the many purple engrams I've gotten), which means you still have to play the game as intended post 24. Please go to your local Game Stop and trade Destiny for Minecraft. Good grief.

I tried this and it is better then the hours I spent doing random strikes for which could end up taking a really long time depending on the people in the strike. I'm not proud of trying the loot cave but after so many hours of strikes and not getting anything its a nice turn of events.

3 RepliesIt's interesting to note that you can literally stand around the farmers and not participate And you will get rewarded via xp and engrams. Bungie actually tried to make this aspect of the game as inclusive as possible. And people still don't like it. So sad.

Who exactly are you to impose on the way they want to play? I farm the old fashioned way (roaming and killing) but I don't see how you have the right to impede the spawning of their farm point. They paid for the game and have the right to enjoy it (so long as they are not performing any violations of their terms of use) as they see fit. They're not stopping you from playing your way, leave them to theirs.

2 RepliesIn that specific area that your talking about, I think your supposed to farm. A warning in the chat box says that enemies are about to go "full force". Shortly after, for about ten minutes, enemies spawn as quickly as you can kill them, from BOTH the fallen and hives respective sides. The enemies spawning are random and can even sometimes have full shields with armored health. To say that farming wasn't intended, is stretching it quite a bit. It was fun when I stumbled upon it by accident and there was a nice amount of green and blue drops rewarding me for sticking to it and beating both waves back.

Bungie created a loot system based off of being a no life shit for brains who doesn't work. Let me play the game none stop since release and I'd be max rank too. Sorry that some of us have lives and catching up to friends in their "fair game" is not something that should take as long as it does. I mean I'd like to play the glass vault too and if i didn't use that loot drop I wouldn't even be at the 27 I'm at. So to you sir I say go to hell and if you don't like exploiting play their none competitive multiplayer and be a -blam!- on there.

I'm not against Farming, but just saying to everybody who uses the loot cave. Just explore the moon. I found 4 legendary engrams without killing anything just by walking through the hellmouth.
