I get a sour taste in my mouth when people mention mmorpg and Destiny in the same sentence. If anything it's a game with 10% of a mmo design in it.

I agree at a basic level a mmo has a chat feature. I like the game and there is tons of potential. But don't give me a game that says there is a social place where u can't talk to others. Don't make rewards based on clans with no clan list feature. These r just basic mmo game points. Even the free to play game ppl can get that right. I expected more for bungie

The entire platform is an MMORPG. Do you think World of Warcraft had its 16 Million subscribers on its launch day? No it started off much smaller than that and evolved into something that grew into a game 16 million people had subscriptions at its peak.

Comparing Destiny to vanilla WOW is disrespectful.

Dont just trash the game provide a reason as to why it shouldnt be compared to an MMO or WoW

I'm not trashing anything. Destiny is a fun game. But it's not a MMO. It's not even on the same planet as a MMO. Yet alone World of Warcraft. If you have played WoW or other MMO games I shouldn't have to explain anything. You would know.

Edited by DemonWarfare: 9/13/2014 11:54:47 PMObviously the player base is not nearly as big but u still have yet to provide any sort of detail supporting ur point Destiny has PvP PvE. The equivalent of dungeons heroics and raids. Gear with different levels of rarity. Factions, a mount (sparrow/spaceship) its a social game that needs a proximity chat to function better. You queue for different playlist and get into groups. So explain to me why i shouldnt compate itnto WoW or an MMO

Okay I can agree it has the bits and parts that makes it comparable to a MMO. But if so it's a extremely stripped down version of a MMO. MMO stands for massively multiplayer online. And there is nothing massively with Destiny at all. In a game like WoW there can be thousands of people in the same world. Not instanced in a bunch of bits like in Destiny. In the Tower, there can be 10? people at the same time? Cant remember seeing more. The 1 area where "everyone" can meet up... and 6 players at the same areas when on a planet? Instanced and cut of from the rest of the players. In WoW there could be thousands... And in WoW the world is huge. A seamless gigantic world where there is hardly any loading screens. Not a picture you click on to travel to a instance.
